Really cute book about how the great detective meets his future shaman wife, in the basement laboratory of a university. Some incongruencies, eg how is the great detective writing to her to investigate and read a story to him - yes it's a cute twist, but a little stretched to be very honest. Still, it's cute how she senses that he gets scared with true horror, and torments him cheekily with spooky endings.
I can see what Shinzo Mitsuda's appeal is, despite convoluted plot twists and too much detail sometimes. He manages to balance the fear of horror with the desire to solve a closed room case. Is it horror? Is it simply a crime?
