Like all true romantics, Tiffany had always been fascinated by the great love stories of the past. The only child of two historians, she had always felt a pull towards British History and the epics that it spawned. But, instead of following in her parent’s footsteps, Tiffany chose to express her love of history in her own way: by writing about her favorite era. After obtaining a degree in English Literature, Tiffany decided to write her first book and never looked back. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with her own Prince Charming, and their two beautiful children, enjoying Massachusetts’ natural wonders. Hop on for a unique journey in Regency England, filled with intensity and heartwarming romance. Let Tiffany’s words bring the enchanting heroes of an era long gone back to life and charm their way into your heart!
It was definitely a slow burn, though I did enjoy seeing how they both got to trust & open up.
I love how much of a gentleman Hector was & I loved his definition of gentleman. Saying about his half brother “Then he shouldnae act as though he’s married to ladies, that’s nay way for a ‘gentleman’ to behave.”
I also love that Hector never got angry genuinely cared about her & listen to her & wanted her to feel cared about
I feel like Alexandra was very relatable, especially after reading the other books & seeing what her home life was like & it was really great to get to see her find love & a man who really cared for her & made her feel safe
It was also great to see the character from past books in this series
There was a brief dark part, though I appreciate it was only around a chapter & a few days for the characters. Overall I loved all the humor in it, & how much happiness there was throughout the story!
This has quickly become one of my favorite books. It is a sweet romance with wonderful characters. Alexandra is attending a ball that she does not want to be at as her family feels it is time she marries. Alexandra does not agree with that. While at the ball, Alexandra hears what sounds like a young woman in need of help. As Alexandra comes closer to the noise, she sees a young maid being accosted by a suppoaed gentleman. Alexandra immediately moves to help the young woman. The man is so shocked he releases the young woman and she runs off. Alexandra and the gentleman began to argue. Suddenly they hear voices, as the voices arrive they see what appears to be Alexandra in the arms of the gentleman. Scandal is now the reason Alexandra's family says she must marry the man. Benedict Lennox is not willing, but his half brother, Hector Lennox, is the Duke of Murray. Hector insists he marry or he and his mother will financial issues. The wedding is set. When Alexandra arrives inside the church, she notices there is no groom waiting for her. A message arrives and after reading it, Hector explains to Alexander that Benedict will not going to marry her. Alexander, thinks another scandal. Hector speaks up that he will marry her. Now you will need to read this story to see what happens next. You will enjoy this story and want it to never end.
The Jilted Duchess I enjoyed this clean story. Duke Hector was the son of a Duke and a commoner. He was surprised to find he had inherited the Dukedom because he did not know his father. Hector's stepbrother, Benedict, was jealous that Hector was considered to be the heir. He was lazy and a rake. At a ball, Lady Alexandra found Benedict trying to seduce a maid. She managed to stop him but was accused of being compromised herself. Hector forced Benedict to agree to marry Alexandra but Benedict jilted her at the altar. Instead, Hector married her. Alexandra tried to teach Hector how to behave in society so that he found it easier to fit in at social events. Together, they showed society that they were a couple. Benedict was a nuisance but Hector was able to deal with him. I liked the way that love developed gently between Alexandra and Hector. There was respect on both sides. An enjoyable read.
Alexandra never thought she would be forced to marry a man who ruined her. She didn't know him much less care for him. Then, as if things couldn't get worse, he left her at the alter never showing up. His brother was furious and to save his family and her from further he took his brother’s place. This is a sweet love story and you can't help fall in love with the burley, beast of man, Hector. Do they have a chance for happiness with his step-mother and brother constantly belittling him? You will not be disappointed reading this book.
She didn’t think that helping a servant girl would leas to being forced into marriage with a detestable cad. As her father walked her up the aisle she caught eyes with a strange person. Realizing that the groom was a no show Hector decided to be honorable and marry Alexandra himself. Of course that is not the end but it will leas to a happy ever after. Loved this series. I read it out of sequence and still enjoyed getting to know the family. I love Tiffany Baton stories.
I liked the main characters but I am getting tired of the same tropes
I enjoyed the main characters. Disliked the stepmother and the half brother; however I could understand their hatred of the man who destroyed their expectations of the future. The dispatching of them was quicker than I expected and I would have made them suffer. I may need to take a break from historical romance for awhile
It was now Alexandra's chance to find a husband. She did not particularly want to marry but then she was caught in a compromising situation. On the day she was to be married the groom did not arrive and the situation was settled by Hector in rather an unusual manner. It took longer for Alexandra to come to trust this new development but it was the best thing that could have happened.
An enjoyable story of what can happen when you try to be helpful. When Alexandra is getting air at a ball, she hear a lady struggling with a man and needing help, she try’s to help, he lets go of the maid. But wants a romp and she will do! Of course they are caught and he doesn’t show for the wedding, and his half-brother, Duke Hector takes his place. He’s a gentle bear of a man that delights in ridicules her strict rules of propriety!
A heartwarming romance between Alexandra and Hector, who rescued her after she was stood up at the altar at her unwanted marriage ceremony. The author did a great job in creating wonderful characters that grow together in their new unexpected marriage. I enjoyed the humor and bantering they shared. The story was a sweet, simple story that flowed easily with the perfect HEA. I recommend this book, and author. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.
This was a clean and sweet read about how the fourth daughter, Alexandra, ends up marrying a duke unexpectedly. The reason for the marriage is revealed in the story and also how she finally overcomes her negativity about putting trust in any man..once she realizes how kind and gentle her new husband truly is.
Alexander was jilted at the altar by Benedict. Lord help her, the Duke of Murray and half brother of Benedict stepped to the altar and married her. A wild, crazy story about two lonely souls trying to fit together. Her wit, warm heart and beauty won the lion of a man known as the King of Business and husband to her!
Alexandria & Hector are faced with a disliked ton & his father’s second wife & son- both of whom are quite despicable & underhanded. They do however, attend balls & hear the whispers of the others. But true love creeps up & Hector will destroy any body who tries to destroy them or deceive them. Family is everything!
The idea of a son not raised by his father becoming Duke causes a lot of problems. Actually the son is legitimate but his half brother and step brother try to cause as many problems as possible. There are several other situations that add to the problem. It's a story definitely worth reading.
Promising plot, but nothing happened in this book. Just internal monologue about mistrust and daddy issues. Absolutely no conflict and no resolution. Very disappointed
kind main characters, a villainous stepmother and half-brother. A slightly unbelievable reform by a narcissistic character. I love Scottish characters, perhaps because I am of Scottish descent. Unusual heroine adept with numbers, tolerant and protective hero.
Very enjoyable story with believable and relatable characters. I enjoy stories where the leads are other than the expected norm. Hector had that in spades. Definitely recommended.
I enjoyed this sweet and clean romance. The characters were amusing at times, and had good chemistry despite their circumstances. The hero was unconventional and very understanding and supportive of the heroine's needs.
I think this is my favorite by Tiffany Barton so far! Loved the Duke, he was such a great character to get to know. As always I enjoyed the happy ending!
