She can see everyone else’s future… except her own. And the one she’s trying to save may be the one who saves her heart.
Chelsea Reed has always had the gift of seeing the future. It’s a gift—and a curse. When she foresees the deadly fate of Dr. North Fowler, a brilliant surgeon and powerful wolf shifter, she knows she must warn him. But North, a man of logic and reason, dismisses her warning, skeptical of her visions and their supernatural nature.
As Chelsea’s vision begins to unfold, she watches helplessly as the man she’s trying to protect grows closer, and her feelings for him become undeniable. But there’s one thing she can’t her own future. And that uncertainty threatens to unravel everything she’s worked so hard to control.
Despite the deepening bond between them, Chelsea is torn between her need to protect North from the danger she sees and the fear that she’s leading them both down an uncertain path. Can she change his fate? Or will her inability to see what lies ahead leave them both in the dark?
In this passionate paranormal romance, Chelsea must confront not only her gift but the complications of love, trust, and destiny. Will she find a way to rewrite the future? Or will she have to learn that some things are meant to unfold, no matter how much we try to change them?
This got really repetitive and just started to drag. It seemed predictable -- I guessed Aven way early on, then once they found out it was Aven it still took too long. Also I think it would be better if he wasn't a wolf. A guy can turn into a wolf but doesn't believe seers are real? Eh.
Chelsea is a grown woman living on her own away from her crap family, why is she being part of her cousin’s wedding to her ex that cheated on Chelsea with this cousin? Just dumb, there’s no way. I get they’re only family she has, but this isn’t it. Okay, North complained about his wolf not reacting to any woman he’s been with or gone out with, but is confused when his wolf finally is reacting to someone? Questioning that his wolf is reacting to someone, instead recognizing that the wolf is? Try to connect to his wolf to find out why, just dismisses it and the possibility of being fated mate related? He does not know what it’s like to find your fated mate, just preconceived notions on what it would be like, instead of having a conversation with a fated couple. There’s a foreign wolf on his Pack land territory, and not once does he bring that person up when he’s talking to his brother beta and third? And this same foreign wolf catches Chelsea out with North and catches Chelsea in the lie she told to break the date with that wolf. Why was she written to have told that lie? She’s pretty straight forward in other interactions she’s had, so why would she go with a lie rather than just saying she feels no connection and would like to pursue one she does feel? She could’ve worded that in a way to let him down easy, like she told him she was trying to do with what she did say to him. North questions this wolf about being on his territory undeclared but does nothing about it? It’s just dropped. Also North is supposed to have a security detail but seems to be without them when things are happening. There’s no way Aven should have gotten away, why was North alone pursuing him? Somewhere there should’ve been something about Aven becoming too human from being in the military, because his father challenged and lost, the way of their wolf society, Aven shouldn’t be doing what he is, it doesn’t make sense if he’s steeped in wolf society. It should be a dishonor, though sounds like he may have been dishonorably discharged from the military. The I can’t get the father so I’ll go after the son narrative is overused. He’s not really after the pack, else he’d be challenging North, not acts in the shadows. If he’s sighted then why aren’t pack enforcers apprehending Aven to bring to the alpha? Why is he having to go out to a “sighting” where Aven could leave from before North got to where this “sighting” is? Why is North thinking should have waited for Damien, who is not the only wolf that should be responding, he’s not the only enforcer but at this point the pack enforcers seem to have disappeared. Again, where is the security detail that’s supposed to be with North? Why is August longing around in the house while North is out hunting the enemy? And the so mundane cliche woman gets upset, goes out in the night right after being reminded the bad guy is out there somewhere unknown but near and what happens? Woman walks right into bad guy. Chelsea became the cliche stupid doing chick that’s put on the TSTL list. And argues against her stupidity when she’s confronted with it. Disappointing. And the idiotic I know how to take care of myself?! Really?! Against a well trained military man who knows explosives and firearms, not to mention that had he chose to charge her in his large wolf form she’d be dead? WHY ARE WOMEN WRITTEN WITH SUCH RIDICULOUSNESS!! Where was her absolutely should have been acknowledged I was an idiot acknowledgement?! Nowhere to be found, that’s where. Then she becomes a selfish self-centered ass for North not attending her promotion celebration when he’s in the middle of trying to find the man who has tried to murder him FOUR TIMES ALREADY and still trying to. Her party was more important than his life. Pathetic. And because she was so in her non righteous indignation, she said nothing of her vision before North left her to go after the man trying to kill him, just a bare mention at the beginning of her rant at him for being so exhausted that he passed out sleep and missed her pathetic promotion celebration party that he asked for her to not have at that time because of threat he was facing, as was her since she was directly threatened. Bad happens and she has the nerve to show up telling him please don’t go; fight: fight for me, fight for us; stay; stay with me. Like she DIDN’T DO because her party was more important. Then she has nerve to say they fought before he left. NO, IT WAS ALL HER. At this point I didn’t want her with North, wanted his Fated mate to be someone who comes along and out with Chelsea. And for Aven to get her. Sorry, not sorry. I didn’t want to read on to part two because I no longer wanted Chelsea with North. Chelsea eats her words. So can take care of herself huh? Cliche pregnancy at the end of part 1. Eye roll. Cliffhanger alert if part 2 was also attached. Definitely could say at the end of part 1 the story isn’t written well enough to sustain a second book. Part 2 Really started skipping and skimming and didn’t get far before flat out giving up. Aven’s not a believable character. Plot with him is beyond too long. Fated mate is an issue and has been villainized that it’s obvious something not right there. Chelsea knows her predicament yet throws the fated mate under the bus! (At this point I’m sure the fated mate would deserve it) North is choosing Chelsea so why’s there not once him saying he’s rejecting his true mate, he’s staying with his chosen mate? North and pack to the rescue, why is North ANNOUNCING THIER ARRIVAL?! Where was the stealth to try to keep a getaway from happening, or captive being killed?! It was ridiculous. And North tells Aven it’s his only warning, stay away? Are you kidding me with such nonsense? When North left on the rescue it was Aven’s dead man walking! Damien had Aven at the end of sniper rifle, laser to chest and doesn’t pull the trigger? When Aven was about to shoot North and gave the order for the others to kill everyone? North walks off with Aven spouting how he was going to come for North and the pack? He keeps saying how he’ll handle Aven if comes to it? WHAT?! He should have been shot dead already! Couldn’t even keep reading this ridiculousness. It was utterly ridiculous the threat wasn’t eliminated. Why? This completely diminished the writing. Story was already heading downhill, got to that, and one star is the only rating this l could be given. North is a weak alpha and Chelsea juvenile acting. Skipped to spot check the rest of the book but essentially a DNF.
I liked the story and the characters. It was just a bit slow. It could have been condensed more and made for a better read. I gave up on it a couple of times eventually coming back to read it but ended up skipping chapters as it felt repetitive. Loved the premise of the book and had high hopes , it just was long winded.
dnf @ 39%. I'm over this book already and I'm not half way through. There is nothing "alpha" about the H. He's a bit soft and the story is going nowhere.
Yeah.....this book starts out with the female lead helping plan her cousins wedding....to her ex-boyfriend. Her cousin is also cartoonishly evil. Tells her she has to lose weight for the wedding, calls her an attention seeker and tells her that her visions aren't real. The MC has also of course had a vision that the groom is going to leave her cousin at the altar. Then she goes to work and learns that she is going to get a promotion. Of course cause we really need to highlight that good things happen to good people and cheaters get left at the altar.
All of that was pretty stupid but since I was only at 1% I decided to skim a bit and get to the male lead's POV just to see. The male lead's POV is not better. He goes on a blind date with a woman who basically ticks every box on the terrible date list and then he goes home and gets into some serious self reflection which includes this line "I sighed again I had been so focused on finding my perfect match I hadn't allowed myself to truly connect with others"......yeah sure ok buddy. It does not get better. He decides to give up dating in order to grow and learn about himself.
This is all 5% in. I refuse to continue reading about these horrible characters and I am going to side eye any other books I come across by this author.

It was a great story with and excellent plot all the way through. This is a book about Chelsea Reed and North Fowler. Chelsea is a seer and coming up for promotion as and NCO at the hospital she works for. North is a doctor and Alpha of his pack who is skeptical about her visions, even accuses her of trying to con him. As they build a closer friendship, he wants information about his fated mate and believes he might get it if they are friends. we have the bad guy who causes trouble for them both. Chelsea has a bad family relationship with her uncle, aunt and cousin, being so independent and finding it hard to believe anyone just wants her. North has a great family but is obsessed with finding his fated mate which goes very wrong when he thinks he has found her. I highly recommend reading it
I really enjoyed this story, and liked the characters. There were some annoying typos, which always makes me wish I was a beta reader so I could correct them. lol. They are always so distracting.
One character, Wade, really caught my attention. I wouldn’t mind a follow-up book with what happens to him after this. Seems like there is plenty to work with, and I so liked his character. (At times, I think I liked him more than North.)
Some of the storyline didn’t pan out how I thought it would, but that’s good, because too often I find these books too predictable. I love how she pulled it all together at the end, too. ~Just need another book to follow up on Wade, and hopefully work to an end just as satisfying for him.
This is such a lovely story. There are two parts to it, with a cliffhanger at the end of part one. I imagine that this may have been two separate books, but it’s so nice to have the whole story in one.
There are tons of things going on in this. The basic idea is the love story, where North is looking for his mate. He’s dated a lot and no one seems right. Chelsea is a seer, and she has some visions about North.
He’s very, very skeptical…
KU read, and I really enjoyed this one. The characters are especially good and I hope there will be more stories in this world.
A good shifter romance duology with chemistry between the characters, shifters, action, a few triggers so please read the list, mystery, trust issues, intense emotions and some lovely twists.
Chelsea uses her gift to see the future to help others, though the one future she can't see is her own. Dr North has been hunting for his mate for years but is unsure what to believe of her warnings.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I could not make up my mind about this book throughout reading it. The plot was very good, kept me hooked to the end, but the two MCs were incredibly frustrating, flip flopping around with their opinions and feelings until I felt like I was getting whiplash, and the overly expressive and flowery writing style had me grinding my teeth a bit. Overall it was okay, but would have been a real chore to finish if not for the plot. Even so, it was hard going at times.
This book quickly starts roping you in and will not let go….. Strong MFC and MMC go through so much in multiple directions!!! When you think you have an idea of what’s gonna happen things turn and surprise everyone and take things in a stronger direction that has you still up at 2am when you have to get up at 6am !! This will be one for my definitely gonna reread in the future as I love books like this that stay with you after the last page!!!
I truly enjoyed Chelsea’s strength, determination, intelligence and devotion. She was a great character. I liked North, he was steadfast, honorable, strong, a good partner for Chelsea. This story had mystery, action, danger and romance. Very good read!
Psychic gifts are exactly that...gifts. Not curses. The key is how you handle them. Controlling them and not letting them control the bearer of such gifts. Chelsea proved that. North proved to be her mate and protector although severely misguided sometimes in HS execution. Great story.
The book was okay, I have certainly read cheesier books but this one would have been great at about half the length. The author seems to enjoy padding every page with the same emotional thoughts shared over and over in slightly different wording.
I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are really trying to kill time.
North, the Alpha Is about to meet his destiny. Chelsea tells the doctor to watch crossing the street. She is a Seer and his chosen. With many challenges and twists and turns they navigate the pitfalls with loyal friends.
It’s a different sort of alpha wolf storyline. I was not completely enamored by this couple, but I did enjoy getting to know them and some secondary characters. It was a very long book that went a little overboard in too many unnecessary details that were really necessary in the least.
I was not sure what to expect from this book, but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It's an interesting story, with great main characters, it has romance, action and a happily ever after.
A very interesting store of a nurse and a surgeon who found love in an unexpected way. She was a Serrano he was a werewolf but their lives enhanced as h other.
Ok so read book 1 and went into total panic because I couldn’t find book two on Amazon!!! The I finally figured out I already had I just had to turn the page…whew! Then I stayed up late reading it!
Amazing read with fantastic characters, non stop build of plot and action, emotional ups and downs, bonds built, strength, wit, and scorching hot chemistry had me reading whenever possible.
This was a good read but how many times did North go against Aven? It was in the neighborhood of 5-6 times, and 1 of the times there was even a red bead on Aven chest and the didn’t take him out? It was a bit much! But a great story just a little too much.
Amazing storyline, the characters have a life of their own. A love that was as strong and fierce as the characters themselves. I highly recommend reading!
