"Conri" is the first book in Kathi S. Barton's "Valley of Wolves" series. This review differs from my usual style.
The good: The storyline was interesting and kept me engaged. The characters were dynamic, featuring multiple points of view, and the world-building was relatable. Additionally, the theme of good versus evil plays a significant role in the book.
The bad: I have read most, if not all, of Ms. Barton's books. On several occasions, I’ve felt a sense of déjà vu while reading her new releases. In this case, there are too many similarities between this book and one from Ms. Barton's "Fosters" series to be coincidental. It seems to me that this is a rewrite with new characters and less magic.
That said, if you haven't read her previous series and enjoy paranormal romances, you will likely find this storyline entertaining.
