💃A meet-cute at Grand Central. A ballet dancer with a broken heart. A worship leader who might just change everything.
Brooke wasn’t looking for love—until one chaotic, coffee-fueled evening in New York introduced her to Emmett. What follows is a slow-burn, faith-filled romance about grief, grace, and the kind of love that feels like coming home.
At Grand Central Station, a rogue skateboard nearly takes Brooke out, her tote goes flying, and a guy with a guitar catches it one-handed—right as a very important cat in a leash-and-briefcase situation struts by. Minutes later her sister returns with coffee labeled “Cinnamon Toast Cruncherson.” Welcome to Brooke’s chaos, carbs, and a meet-cute she cannot stop thinking about.
💃 Brooke used to believe ballet could hold all her broken pieces together. But after losing her best friend, even the studio feels sharp around the edges. Then she hears him again—the guitar guy from the station—leading worship at her sister’s church. Emmett is steady, kind, and the first person who makes her wonder if hope might be real…and if God might be closer than she thinks.
🎼 As rehearsals for The Nutcracker intensify and old grief resurfaces, Brooke has to choose between control that’s slowly crushing her and a love that invites her to breathe. Emmett is fighting his own battles with regret and calling—but when their worlds collide, it feels like grace with a soundtrack.

📱I really enjoyed this book. I’ll give it 5 stars, despite the excessive (7) “Hallmark” references. Heart-warming and encouraging story while also addressing trauma/loss/grief. Strong faith theme.
I love Dawn. She made me laugh out loud a few times. Lots of amusing and witty banter.
I found this book via IG ads. I feel like it would be more fitting if the cover depicted winter since the 1st half of the book took place in the winter. But hey, I unexpectedly celebrated Christmas in July! 🎄🎁
What an exceptionally beautiful story. It just wraps itself around you and tugs on your heartstrings. Definitely one to be read again. I'd give it 10 stars if l could ❤
