I like my life controlled, measured, exactly on schedule. Which is why I don’t date teammates’ sisters.
But Tallulah “Lulu” Parnell makes that one hell of a rule to keep. Sunshine in a maxi dress, always asking questions she shouldn’t, always finding new ways under my skin.
When she moves in across the street, her brother Eli asks me to keep an eye on her during some "dating mission" to find herself, and suddenly I’ve got a front-row seat. Watching her walk out the door for guys who don’t deserve her, in dresses I can’t stop thinking about, smiling in ways that aren’t meant for me.
Somewhere between a flooded kitchen, a string of failed dates, and dog-sitting, she asks me for lessons—the kind that don’t belong in a classroom.
I should refuse. Say no and value my life.
Instead, I let her in. And the more I touch her, the harder it gets to remember why I’m supposed to resist. She’s showing me there’s more to life than one safe lane, and I’m proving she’s so much more than people assume.
With hockey, the first goal breaks the ice to start the game.
With Lulu, it’s endgame.

Break The Ice is a grumpy x sunshine, teammate’s little sister, spicy lessons hockey romance, and is book three in the Colorado Storm series of interconnected standalones.

Thank you to Hailey and Luna Literary for this ARC for my honest review! If you love Hockey romances & haven't read this series yet, you are missing out. All 3 have been 5 star reads! I want to be a part of this friend group. I absolutely adored Lulu & Logan's relationship so much. Their chemistry & banter were off the charts! Logan is the definition of a man obsessed. It's so hard to put into words how much I loved this book! 100% recommend!
Break the Ice is about Logan, who plays for the Colorado Storm, and his teammates' little sister, Lulu.
Lulu is what others call "a ball of sunshine." A middle school teacher she loves glitter to the max and loves her job. She's got a problem, tho. Her type B treaching isn't keeping the PTA happy, and they're constantly criticizing her.
Logan is a no-nonsense guy. He's closed off, and he's concentrated the most on hockey, definitely not romance. He's loyal to his teammates and would never date his teammates' sister.
But when she moves into his neighborhood, Logans sees Lulu a lot more. A LOT more. Shes watching his dog, they're running into each other...
Lulu gets to talking with her friends and realizes there's some aspects of dating and relationships that she's been. missing out on. Who is best to help her out? Her new neighbor.
But its only going to be casual. There is no need for anyone else to know.
Eli, the brother, gives the best reasoning for his hands off my sister approach. It was kinda really touching.
Logan seemed kinda mature for his age. This was the first book I've read in the series! It's book three and was easy to pick up! But of course now I want to read the others. And the hints of book 4! Really got me interested! It was also really funny!
Reading this series just makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a cozy blanket with friends. I love the found family in this series and this book was no different! Logan & Lulu can't seem to avoid being in each other's orbit and their chemistry is so obvious! I love their playful banter and how they truly see each other. And the spicy lessons between them....yes please, give me more!
What to Expect: -Hockey player x teacher -Grumpy x sunshine -Teammate's sister -Neighbors to lovers -Forced proximity -Secret relationship -Spicy lessons
Thank you to Hailey Rodger for letting me read & review an ARC!
Lulu and Logan are couple goals! I loved the way this couple encourages and supports each other and how both of them had crushes on each other before their steamy relationship starts. I also appreciated that they matched each other so well in the bedroom. It was wonderful to be around the Colorado Storm hockey team again and all their significant others and children. Some of the scenes in this book had me laughing out loud. I especially loved Meadow’s discussion on the types of love she sees around her. Thank you to author Hailey Rodger and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this early. It truly was my pleasure.
"I'll be your nobody, then." "You're not my nobody, Lulu. You're my everything."
The trope that got me hooked? Most psychotic schnauzer x goodest boi retriever. And the whole time I thought it was about Lulu and Logan—come to find out that it's actually Miso and Dusty. Literally 2% into the book and I was already crying with laughter because Miso might be my favorite character/pet. I love when authors take the time to actually write their pets into the book instead of just mentioning them here and there. It's always a fun time when they have a personality.
Tallulah "Lulu" Parnell is a teacher and is moving in across the street from Logan "Pookie" Miller. Lulu's brother, Eli, who is also on the same hockey team as Logan, asks him to keep an eye on her and make sure that she's okay and not going on dates with a bunch of losers.
"Wildflowers don't just bloom in cracks, they split concrete. And I plan to do the same to Logan Miller."
Lulu is the epitome of a sunshine FMC and I loved how she always poked the bear when it came to asking Logan all these crazy questions and she tested his patience until he finally cracked. Growing up, Logan had structure and routine and everything had to be perfect. When Lulu stumbled into his life (literally), he started to feel a change that he didn't know what to do with and a sense of warmth in his house that he never felt before. I thought it was so cute that Logan would remember all the little things about Lulu. He is SO observant. There was a part where he bought her matcha and had it delivered to the house while she was using the shower and it was really sweet. There's something about a man that just listens to his girl yap that makes me giggle and kick my feet.
"This is reckless, insane, dangerous. But hearing her say she wants only me feels better than any win I've ever had."
I had to slow myself down from reading because I truly did not want the book to end. I was living for this relationship with Lulu and Logan. They were sweet, funny, and SO spicy. Of course, the Colorado Storm found family still lives on in this book and I'm sure it will continue to live on in Hutchy's book. I loved Sunday brunch, the chaotic bachelor/bachelorette, and Meadow's crazy comments and how she's always trying to marry things.
I will say the only thing I wish that was addressed was Logan's parents. When I finished Break the Ice, I really wished that Lulu somehow knocked some sense into them or something along those lines because Logan's dad was horrible to him throughout the book! I hope that Logan eventually cuts them off and lives happily ever after with Lulu.
Thank you to Luna Literary and Hailey Rodger for the opportunity to read this ARC. I knew that after I read the ARC for Make the Play, I wanted to go back and read Seal the Deal and sign up for Break the Ice. I've truly come to love this series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Logan Miller is a pro hockey player for the Colorado Storm. He grew up in a household that focused more on grooming him for a career in hockey versus family (or love, birthdays, holidays, etc). The only interaction he has with his parents now is the calls he receives after every game to critique his plays. His “found family” is his teammates otherwise he feels alone in the world.
Lulu Parnell is a middle school teacher. She grew up in a loving home with her older brother Eli who is also a pro hockey player for the Colorado Storm. Lulu has struggled with living in her brother’s shadow given that the men she’s dated in the past have used her to get closer to Eli.
Eli has always been very protective of his younger sister and made it clear to his teammates that she’s off limits.
Sunday brunch is mandatory for the Colorado Storm crew which includes Lulu. Lots of shenanigans happen at Sunday Brunch. Meadow never disappoints.
Lulu has had a crush on Logan for a long time. Logan definitely had interest in Lulu but doesn’t act on it because of Eli and the risk of fractures in the team.
Then Lulu buys a house across the street from Logan and Eli asks Logan to look out for her. Which makes for good cover for Logan and Lulu to get a little closer.
I loved, loved Logan and Lulu’s road to happily ever after. It was twisty but worth the ride. There’s so many big moments. These two made each other whole. Logan’s birthday about did me in. I immediately wanted to read this book again.

The addition of Betty is epic. She’s a feisty 68 yr old fashionista with no filter. Fingers crossed we see more of her in book 4.
Questo è il terzo libro della serie e mi è piaciuto tantissimo!
Alcune trope che troviamo sono: ● Pro Hockey Player x Middle School Teacher ● Brother's Best Friend ● Teammate's Little Sister ● Secret Relationship ● She Falls First, He Falls Harder ● Spice Lessons ● Grumpy x Sunshine
This is the third book in the series and I loved it!
The protagonists are Logan and Lulu (whom we already meet in the previous books). Like every book, I found myself immersed in the story without being able to tear myself away, even though it was a bit monotonous at times and I would have liked more "movement." But that didn't stop me from enjoying it!
For those who want to read a hockey romance with an "I want her but her brother will kill me" twist, with a grumpy-grumpy protagonist and a sunny protagonist, this is the perfect one.
At this point, I can confirm that the author churns out nothing but masterpieces.
P.S. I love the found family that forms from the first book.
I LOVED this book + I was very sad to finish it. Hailey Rodger’s made me not want to put it down! I am guilty in saying I love a grumpy/sunshine dynamic, and this story delivered that and more.
The chemistry between the main characters was spot on — the perfect mix of tension, fun, and those softer moments that sneak up on you. I loved watching the grumpy one slowly let their guard down with the sunshine lead; it felt real and so satisfying. And the sneaking around? The slow burn? The “we shouldn’t, but we’re going to anyway” energy? Absolutely loved every bit of it.
I think what really makes this series stand out is the side characters — they all add so much, and together they make the story even better.
Hailey Rodgers’ writing feels effortless and addictive — it pulls you right in. I found myself grinning and swooning in every chapter. If you love all of the above, you’ll love this one.
Tropes:
Tropes I loved: Grumpy × Sunshine Sneaking Around / Secret Relationship Sports Romance (Hockey vibes!) Found Family / Supportive Friends Emotional Healing
I really loved the characters of Logan and Lulu this was very much grumpy x sunshine but in a touching and endearing way. I particularly enjoyed Lulu's journey of struggling to be fully loved and respected for all her fun quirks and childlike joy and then using that to prove herself and how much Logan supported her exactly as she is.
There wasn't a huge amount of plot or action, and small things that did crop up got resolved very fast. I did like the way they were outed to her brother - as a big fan of the brothers best friend trope, it was nice to see an original scenario with Logans concussion adding further miscommunication.
Overall, I loved their character growth and relationship. Only thing I would've loved more is if the switch from friends to lovers had been a little less abrupt. Not sure if was fully on board with the way the lessons thing came about...
I swear Hailey Rodger never misses! I have been waiting for Pookie’s (Logan) book since the moment we met him. Every time he graced the page I fell more and more in love! And the same thing can be said about our FMC Lulu. This book was everything I wanted and so much more! This series has one of the best found families I’ve ever read and each time I start the next one in the series it feels like getting back together with my besties!
Logan and Lulu….How I love them! If ever there were two people perfect for each other it’s those two. They “see” the parts of each other, that no one else sees. They understand each other, they complement each other, and they support each other. Logan loves everything about Lulu. Too often she has been told she’s too much, but he shows her that she is perfect. And Lulu brings the fun, light, and spontaneity that Logan has been missing under the pressure and expectations of his parents. They heal each other and find the love they both so deeply deserve.
Of course one of the best parts of this book is the found family and the pets. This group always has me absolutely rolling. There is a Halloween get together that had me laughing until I had tears streaming down my face! And a bachelorette party that literally made me snort laugh! And because this is the most supportive group of friends there were also many awww moments. But it was the soft moments between Logan and Lulu that melted my heart. The way they love each other is so beautiful.
Now I cannot forget to mention the scene stealer who also stole my heart! Betty! She is such a queen! I simultaneously want to be Betty and want her to be my bestie! She is hilarious, loving, supportive, and all seeing. Her unfiltered mouth, Betty’s Boopers and obsession with Hutchy had me grinning ear to ear and absolutely enamored with her! Please please please let us get more of her in the next book!
I adore this group so much. This series is a comfort read for me and one I come back to time and again. Now I am ready to meet the woman that brings Reid Hutchison to his knees! I am beyond feral for this man! Give me the quiet grump Every. Single. Time!
Sp!cy lessons, a war waged with pool floaties, and the most unhinged Halloween scene I’ve ever seen… 6 stars!

Brother’s teammates/BFF ✔️ grumpy x sunshine ✔️ spicy lessons ✔️ secret relationship ✔️ hockey player x teacher ✔️ neighbours ✔️ forced proximity ✔️
THIS SERIES!! Book after book, I fall more and more in love with Hailey’s writing, with her characters and Lulu and Logan are the 2 characters I have been watching very closely with a sly lil smirk on my face. Their chemistry throughout the first two books has been FIRE, I have loved watching Lulu wind up Logan for 2 books… and seeing them SOAR in their own book was everything and more.
Logan ‘Pookie’ Miller and Tallulah ‘Lulu’ Parnell were inevitable, there is no other word for it.
Lulu and Pookie have always had a push pull relationship, he’s her brothers grumpy best friend and teammate, and she’s the ray of sunshine he can’t help but bathe in… despite every cell in his body telling him he shouldn’t. Even when she moves in cross the street, he tries to avoid her, but then… she asks him to help her with her many MANY questions about how to be the best ✨ lover ✨ … and well, he can never say no to her. 😏
Logan… Pookie… you were the BIGGEST surprise. The best dog dad, even if Dusty loved Lulu more than him 🤭 Not only did he cherish and adore Lulu for exactly who she was, he worshipped her like she was your queen and you were head over heels for her. He loved her sparkle, he saw everything about her that no-one else ever did. He saw her determination, her grit, her power when everyone else just saw her has Eli’s little sister, and a ticket to get to meet the team.
Lulu… my girl. She was an absolute ray of sunshine, she was hilarious and has a heart made of gold. She saw even the parts of Logan he didn’t want anyone to see, and she helped heal him in ways that absolutely left me SOBBING. She is such an incredible person, despite all the 💩 she went through with the PTA moms, she just kept going. It was so good to see Logan take@care of her though, she was always so switched on and ready to help anyone she could, so to see him step in for her when she needed it had me in my feels.
Not only was their relationship cute AF, but the spice, the way Lulu had Pookie wound up tight, the way he was absolutely feral for her. I will never ever get over these two, they were SO HOT.
This book was the best time, it was perfect and cute, and had me cackling. It also hit me hard in the feels.
Betty and Hutchy deserve all the love off the back of this book because these two and their all seeing, all knowing selves 😂😂
I am SO freaking exciting for Hutchy’s story next, that man is going to have me absolutely feral for him I just know it.
Hailey, you are incredible, and I’m so lucky to be a part of your street team. ❤️
Beta/ARC review for Break the Ice by Hailey Rodger
Thanks to Hailey and Luna Literary Management for the ARC opportunity!
What to expect: sports romance, brother’s best friend/teammate’s little sister, book pets, he takes care of her, forbidden romance, forced proximity/secret relationship, spicy lessons, grumpy/sunshine, banter and snark, found family, neighbors, miscommunication (but like, don't freak out plz)
TW/CW: overall a pretty light read but a strained relationship with an MC’s parents (mostly off page) and an on page concussion injury are present.
Review: 5/5
I’m convinced Hailey can do no wrong. Let’s just skip my gushing and get to the good stuff.
Things I liked: - Break the Ice delivers all of the things I loved from Seal the Deal and Make the Play and then some. We get the amazingly well-developed characters, banter and snark that keeps you smiling while reading, and more of the most perfect found family. This team loves one another so hard and it comes through on the page. - Logan. Freakin. Miller. I knew we were entering grumpy territory with our boy Logan, a flip from sweet Jake and confident Chase in the prior books. And Logan does grumpy well. I was NOT expecting the dirty....sorry, filthy (IYKYK) mouth on this man and I am sending all the thumb’s up to Lulu for locking him down. She’s a lucky lady. Cuz damn. - Tallulah Parnell is about the sweetest damn person ever. She corrals preteens on a daily basis and makes it look easy, all while battling the pretentious, condescending PTA moms in the background. And she still manages to glow sunshine and bring joy to everyone around her. She is the definition of sunshine. - We love a ship name and, selfishly, I’m gonna say they keep getting better and better ;) - Dusty and Miso are perfect and deserve all the treatos for being such good doggos. - Betty. That’s it. That’s the point.
Things I disliked or missed the mark: - The way I wanted to crawl into this book and smack the ever loving crap out of those PTA bitches. If anything, it’s a testament to how well Hailey writes hate-able, real life villains.
I can’t get over how much this series has woven its way into my bones. Book four is slated for March 2026 and the way I need that book in my life is unreal. Reid Hutchison is sure to be the grump that ends all grumps and I just know he’s going to capture my heart over all others.
This is Book 3 of the Colorado Storm series and it just keeps getting better!
This friend group is full of humor, love, emotions and FUN.
Lulu has had a teeny tiny crush on Logan since she met him, but a small issue stands in the way - he is her protective older brother’s teammate. So OFF LIMITS…or is she?
When Lulu moves across the street from Logan, he does his best to keep a distance between them until her pipe burst flooding her house and they become roommates for a week.
When Lulu presents spice lessons to Logan, their chemistry blossoms and I was eating it up!
I absolutely loved them together! While it was all a secret, they had great communication and brought out the hidden parts of each other in the best way throughout the book.
The Halloween chaos is gold, but I think the karaoke bar takes the cake for favorite friend group scene!
Star of the book is Meadow and her love lessons for the crew - so innocent but perfect!
I loved the chapter titles as well being funny quips.
Thank you Luna Literary for this eArc! I am ready for Book 4!
✨ARC REVIEW✨ 5⭐️ I’ve said it before and I will say it again…HAILEY RODGER CAN DO NO WRONG!!! When Lulu moves across the street from Logan it’s becoming harder and harder to hide her crush. Little does she know he has the same crush but won’t act on it because acting on it would cross every possible line. He can’t possible go after his teammates sister. When Lulu’s house is uninhabitable for a few days she finds herself in Logan’s guest room. The proximity isn’t helping to tamp down the crush and when Lulu asks Logan to give her some spicy lessons it becomes too hard not to give in. They can’t say anything because Eli would never approve but the deeper they get and the more the lines blur the more they want to shout their true feelings from the rooftop. But what happens when the relationship is exposed before either of them are ready??
This series will always and forever have my heart and it’s because of characters like these. I fell in love with this whole crew in book one and I love how much you get of them through every book. Truly the epitome of found family!! But the stores of the show in this one….Lulu and Logan…ughhhhh I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! The way Logan loves her exactly as she is and shows her through his actions MELTS me. Not just that though, the way Lulu proves to Logan that he isn’t who his dad tries to tell him he is. They both truly see each other in the way they’ve always wanted to be seen. All the antics made me laugh and swoon and fall in love more every time. I was ready to beat up a PtA mom too…just saying… but the side characters in this one truly took the cake!! I cannot wait for Reid’s story but I also don’t want this series to end!!
Tropes: ✨Brother’s Best Friend ✨Forced Proximity ✨Hockey Romance ✨Spice Lessons ✨Found Family
Logan "Pookie" Miller and Tallulah "Lulu" Parnell are perfection.
This is one of my favorite series, so I was excited to return for this third installment!! This book was marketed as spice lessons (and that did play into the plot in a cute way) but I felt like it was almost more of a "fucket list" (is that a thing? like a sex checklist?). Lulu had a list of things she wanted to do, and they crossed them off the list together (but he did call them "Lessons" so six of one half dozen of the other maybe!).
Obviously they do this all in secret, since Lulu's brother Eli is the Assistant Captain of the Colorado Storm (who Logan also plays for). But they both were goners long before they even hooked up!
Logan and Lulu had a great connection and it was lovely to watch their bond build over time, but heartbreaking that it was all kept secret. I loved seeing them shine through to each other and finally be able to be together in the end.
I DO wish that the PTA moms got a bit more of a fuck you, bc they're true villains, and they got off way too easy here.
I did enjoy seeing all of our favorite characters return from the first two books, and REALLY enjoyed seeing more of Reid Hutchinson, who I believe will be the next book's MMC. He's quiet and grumpy and a goalie, so.. say less.
Can't wait for more of this series! Hailey is such a talented writer!
Lulu is a grade school teacher moving into a new neighborhood—right across the street from pro hockey player Logan, her brother’s grumpy best friend. Logan’s been tasked with keeping an eye on her, but Lulu’s had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. Too bad her brother has made it very clear she’s off-limits to him…
Lulu and Logan are the definition of grumpy/sunshine! Their story has the perfect mix of forbidden tension, forced proximity, sparkling chemistry, banter, spice, and found family shenanigans that Hailey Rodger always delivers! Some scenes made me swoon, others made me tear up, and I definitely laughed out loud at several moments.
It was also such a treat revisiting familiar characters from previous books, and now I am so excited to read quiet, grumpy goalie Reid Hutchinson’s story next!
Read this if you’re in the mood for a forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine hockey romance filled with banter, heart, and found family vibes!
Thank you to Hailey Rodger and Luna Literary for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
✨ARC review✨ this has to be one of my top reads of the year, it was so so so good 😭 LuLu and Logan were honestly so perfect for one another, exactly what the other needed. the grump met his sunshine and turned his world upside down
LuLu just wanted to find someone that loved her for exactly who she was. a girl who loved to celebrate all the things, make the little moments in life feel big, take care of the people she loves, discuss star signs and make wishes on flowers. and of course that man is no other than her brother’s teammate, Pookie 🥹
Logan needed someone that would be there for him in the most basic of sense. support him, cheer for him, celebrate him through the little day to day moments to the big moments. and of course, LuLu was able to deliver exponential results cause that’s who she is
they work through a spicy wishlist and my god, let’s talk about fireworks (iykyk) 🤭🥵 the spicy scenes were just top tier 🫦
i literally giggled throughout this whole book, shed a few tears and fell in love with alllll the side characters. shoutout to my girl Betty
I was lucky enough to receive an Arc of this book and boy did it not disappoint, I loved the story the world, as it’s an interconnected standalone I was able to jump in at book 3 but I will be continuing with this series and author and I’m desperate to go back and find out more about the other characters back stories!
Break the Ice is book 3 in the Colorado Storm series of hockey romances by Hailey Rodger. It was my first book in the series and can be read as a standalone, but I'll definitely be off to read the others because I loved this book so much. It's the perfect combination of laugh-out-loud banter, chemistry, romantic gestures, found family, spicy scenes, and hockey. The characters are so funny, and I really did love everyone from Lulu and Logan to sassy neighbor Betty, grumpy Reid (can't wait for his book) and adorable Dusty. I didn't want to put this book down, I was smiling and giggling the whole way through, and it had everything I love in a sports romance.
I read this as an ARC, so thank you, Hailey Rodger and Luna Literary, for the opportunity to read and review this book. Definitely recommend if you enjoy funny, heartfelt, and spicy sports romance. The first two books in the Colorado Storm series are available now, and Break the Ice releases October 30.
Hailey Rodger , amazing author ! This book was amazing I loved every part of it and would highly recommend reading the 3 book in the Colorado storm series, I loved how I was immersed into the book! Hailey does a wonderful job in making you feel every emotion with her writing she’s honestly done an amazing job bring each character to life and completely stealing your heart ! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity of being your ARC reader! You won’t regret adding break the ice to your library!
“But the more time I spend with him, the more I wonder if maybe the fireworks I’ve been waiting for aren’t out there at all. Maybe they’re across Birch Lane, glaring at me from behind a coffee mug.”
“Well, don’t you look positively radiant, either you’ve found religion, or someone's made you scream.”
“You’re not my nobody, Lulu. You’re my everything.”
Logan and Lulu are the freaking cutest!! We get spicy lessons and there’s no playing around, these lessons are hot! These two fall fast and hard for each other, and aren’t afraid to share their feelings. Add in the fun friend group and girl gang with all the banter and Betty with her crazy lines of wisdom, and we get as a reader a fun, light, sexy book that you just want to keep reading. Also Betty, I love her! Where do I find a Betty?!
Tropes: Teammates Little Sister Grumpy/Sunshine Spicy Lessons Off Limits Pro Hockey Romance She Halls First He Falls Harder
Colorado storm series has me on a chokehold !! All three fighting to be the favorite but I think this one’s the winner 🙌🏼 nothing says forbidden like your teammates little sister 🥵
I wanna start this by saying that Meadow will always be the main character 😂 forever.
But Logan & LuLu were great too lol I loved the build up we got off them in the last book. The lingering feelings & glances. The way they set up Eli’s overprotectiveness. One of my favorite things in books is when the man is obsessed with the woman that people deem “too much”
Logan was the man for the job. This friend group is everything! Unwavering support & love. Betty is one of my new favorite side characters - her Rat Daddy comments had me in tears laughing so hard.
I CANNOT wait to get book 4! I already know it’s gonna be a masterpiece.
Once again, Hailey knocks a hockey romance out of the park. Hailey has become one of my favorite hockey romance authors, and I'm always so excited to read her books. Break the Ice might be my favorite in the series so far, despite all of them being 5-star reads—something about Logan Miller and his love for Lulu.
Lulu is someone I can really relate to as a teacher myself, constantly fearing you'll mess up and make someone mad or feel like you failed your students. She was truly sunshine in a person who still struggled with giving herself grace. She knew who she was and refused to let anyone stop her from being who she is. Her love for others was so beautiful, it made her and Logan as a couple a million times better.
Logan, oh my sweet boy, just wanted someone to be proud of him, and Lulu gave me exactly that. He didn't have the family he needed, but got the family he deserved from the hockey team and from Lulu. This man had me sobbing at the way he lit up every time Lulu did something for him because he wasn't used to it. Watching him go from a grumpy man to someone who found happiness outside of hockey was what I've been waiting for since book 1.
They both helped each other in so many different ways, and that is what makes them one of my all-time favorite couples. Logan refused to let anyone make Lulu feel less than her incredible self and always had her know he was proud of her and all the work she does for her kids.
Overall, I will always recommend this book to everyone who wants a light-hearted, yet still has that hint of angst, hockey romance story. Hailey does an amazing job at showing the highs and lows of someone who may seem happy all the time. I can always relate to the characters she writes, which is something I always love and appreciate.
Thank you, Hailey for allowing me to be on your team and for this ARC

Okay first of all !? Lulu being a middle school teacher was everything. Thank you ! Also the sass with her and her students was so fun. I had a love/hate relationship with the scenes in the school because pta moms can be brutal. I think I’m secretly lulu (which means I just need a hulking hockey boy to find me!)
Anyway. Super cute story! I love that these don’t have any true 3rd act breaks ups too! They may fight or have a slightly miscommunication but in the end they do not give up on each other and that’s so great !
Tropes: Brothers best friend, hockey romance, neighbors, forced proximity, school teacher x professional hockey player, grumpy/sunshine, she fell first but he fell harder, spicy lessons
A few things I can count on about this series (having ARC read it since Book 1) is it will always be entertaining, funny, sweet, spicy and heartwarming. We're at Book 3 and it just seems to get better and better.
We meet the next hockey teammate to find love and it's Logan's turn. He's been attracted to Eli's (his teammate and friend) sister Lulu since they met at Eli's wedding but he knows she's off limits no matter how she seems to reciprocate his flirting. He's able to keep his distance until he literally couldn't because Lulu moved directly in front of his house making them neighbors. Eli also called in a favor for Logan to keep a close watch on Lulu since she's been intent on dating and finding her next love. As expected, there's a lot of jealous, growling and possessive moments from here. All seems friendly between the two until Lulu asked Logan to be her dating/spicy coach and asked for lessons. What ensues are a hefty amount of spice but a lot of really sweet and swoony moments as well. We see their relationship evolve to love. The biggest conflict is of course Lulu's big brother so we see that unfold as well.
I love both Logan and Lulu. They are so likable and relatable that you just cant help but wish for their happg ending. They both deserved it. Love how Logan became Lulu's biggest supporter and cheerleader and how Lulu became Logan's person (he has horrendouse parents). I love the friend group and enjoyed seeing Charlie and Jake, Zoe and Chase as they became more couple-y in this book. This made me really excited for Hutch's book. I adore the animals/pets. Love how Hailey incorporated them in the story - adorable additions. Loved Betty - I hope I can see her more on the next book. She was hilarious and somebody I definitely want to be like when I grow up hahaha.
The only thing I wish for is the ending to be fleshed our a little. For Eli's reaction being the biggest conflict, I felf like his acceptance and approval could have been explored more. Loved the epilogue and I cannot wait for the bonus one when the book comes out soon.
Overall, this is a solid sports romance read that is perfect for anyone looking for a low stakes but very entertaining book that will make you giggle and kick your feet.
Thank you Luna Literary for the advance copy in exchange for my thoughts!
