This is the BEST book in the Jack series! My oldest son and I both loved it! We read the entire book in one day - we had to know what was going to happen! This is the first book (this size) my son has read in only one day. We took turns reading chapters out loud to each other. I love the characters' relationships, and I LOVED the ending - it made me cry. The Poppy scene made me cry too! I'm making it sound like this whole story is just a crying fest, and it's not! The book has funny moments, intense moments, and emotional moments. I highly recommend this adventure!

I was going to have my class read Jack the Bad Crow again this year, but I'm going to have us read Clawthorne instead. I just checked TPT, and the author hasn't listed a novel study for this book yet. Holly Flora, will you be offering one like you did for Jack the Bad Crow? Please say, "Yes!"

This tale celebrates love, family, and the unwavering strength of a united community determined to overcome the darkness and drive out the wicked Clawthorne. The story is well-written, fast-paced, and perfect for middle-grade readers.
