Recently watched this movie and it was incredible, one of the most memorable animated films I've seen (and I've seen a lot of amazing animated films).
This book was... alright, I guess. Pretty pointless if you've seen the movie. Actually, if I'm being real, pretty disappointing.
I didn't expect much, but I did expect a little more. I expected a straight up adaptation, shots of the film with short descriptions, which is what it is, but it's extremely short and lacking. I don't know why the creator didn't include some no-brainer moments from the film, like the cat drowning before being lifted up, or more of the bird's ascension (maybe with a little poetic and vague hint of what actually happens to the bird, which the movie lacked - which is good, imo, in the movie's case, but this book, devoid of the soundtrack, length, or animation of the film, could've used its medium to its advantage and distinguished it from the film by explaining more).
And that's basically it. This is just a really short straight up adaptation of the film without a lot of the film's magic. I thought there's no way I could regret this purchase because of how much I loved the film, but I kind of do; I should've just bought the film.

An adorable companion to the film! The story adapts into a picture book well, the text not taking away from the magic of the pictures nor over-complicates the story.
Definite recommendation whether you've seen the film or not (and if you haven't seen the film - watch it!).

Adapted from the 2025 movie, this uses stills from the movie - with ample narration - to describe the events of the film. I think it'd be good to read this with children before seeing the movie, since the film doesn't have any dialogue.

Honestly the book is just as cute as the movie. I absolutely love the movie so when I saw the book I had to own it and read it!

Absolutely love the movie and Absolutely love the picture book! I don’t care if I’m an adult I purchased it of course for me myself and I! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
