I used to conquer kingdoms. One portal mishap later, I’m stuck in small-town Kentucky. In a human body, running a bar called The Crown of Hearts.
I’m ex-orc warlord turned reluctant bar owner. I’ve got a cash register I don’t understand, a jukebox that plays without magic, and three women who keep stealing my focus.
There’s Lana, the bartender with eyes sharper than any blade. Cassidy, the waitress who can charm your socks off—then clobber you with her purse. And Nellie, the redhead bookstore owner whose idea of flirting involves filthy jokes and filthier romance novels.
I’m still an orc on the inside. I just look like the kind of guy women suddenly want to flirt with. Not that I’m complaining.
But when my old world bleeds into this one, bringing a tyrant in disguise, I realize I’ve got something new to fight for—home, love, and the people who taught me how to live without a war.
Turns out saving the world might involve fried chicken, karaoke nights, and falling in love. Go figure.
A good slice of life book with a bar theme. I liked the characters main and side very much. The problem i had is at end of every single chapter, the author mentions they are building relationships here and its how a better life looks like. After a few times it feels very repetitive.
