This book smashes you into pieces and then builds you back up again. Shattered by Love is a great addition to the Scarred by Love Series, telling the story of Max, a sexy, cocky alpha male and Bree, a beautiful woman who has been madly in love with him for years.

The sparks really fly between those two but Max was too arrogant to return Bree’s love. He was a player and a brooding jerk. Max’s alphaness made him that much more trouble for Bree, but she had still crushed on him for years. Sex had always been explosive and steamy hot between them, but Bree needed more from him and their relationship. Max wasn’t ready though to settle down and so Bree didn’t get the commitment she wanted.

Max’s rejection caused her to be worry that she will never find someone who loves her in return. She eventually decides not to hide herself away anymore, to keep being friendly and meeting new people in order to stop the hurt, anger and sadness. She sees clearly that because he doesn’t want her doesn’t mean she’s unworthy or unlovable.

When Max realizes that Bree is ready to move on and give up on him once and for all, he gets jealous and decides to pursue her. They are addicted the one to the other but Bree’s heartache is too strong to put her trust on him one again. Max does everything he can to get back the girl who has captured his heart. Furthermore, a traumatic incident at work makes him set new priorities in his life and see that Bree is the one for him. He gets back in touch, shows her an easier, breezier version of himself and keeps it casual. Max wants to show her he’s grown and that he’s willing to be better by changing his ways.

The whole book was well written; conversation flowed well, there was action (inside and outside the bedroom), and great references thrown in. Max and Bree's journey was a pleasure to read; it was funny, heartbreaking, sexy, endearing and entertaining. They are two beautifully broken people who fit together to make a complete puzzle. This book brought out every emotion I had while reading and I highly recommend it.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
=====================
After the epic failure of Max and me, something good for a change was exactly what I needed. I had put so much hope in our relationship. I longed for a future with him, one that he never really wanted.

“Whatever, asshole, I’m drunk and horny. Bree and I have an understanding. She knows not to expect more. I don’t want a nagging girlfriend.”

“Don’t act like you didn’t miss me, Angel. You were hoping you would get a midnight visit. You like my sexy ass.”

Bree rarely held a smile when we were together. I was not good to her; most of our nights ended with her crying or me slipping out of her bed to go home.

I lifted an eyebrow in confusion. “Aubree?”

“You didn’t even know what her full name is, did you?” I just shook my head.

“Do you even know who she really is? I mean, besides the girl you fucked on occasion?”

I never took the time to get to know Bree. I never cared before about what she loved. I never worried about bringing her gifts or making her smile. She was always convenient, and that was the biggest dick move I had ever made.

What the fuck? How did I not know this about her?

“Come home with me?” All the times Max and I spent together were never at his place. He had never offered, and I just had never asked.

It was eating away at me. What else had he lied about? Should I trust him when he says that he just wants me?

Miraculous transformation of a manwhore to a sweet guy.

Yeah, sooo believable *eye roll*

He slept with the h for over the year and didn't know her full name. Wow, very charming!
Of course she was exclusive and he wasn't...

And then !Boom! and the world was la-la land.
The girl was likable, but a doormat.
Sorry, but not sorry!

P.S. Did you know that a bj is not sex? It seems my understanding of sexual stuff is not updated... *Alex - old generation*

Boring.

I just want to say, I wasn't given any ARC. Anything I say in this review is just my opinion.

As I've said. It was boring, and truth be told disappointing. It's not about the way it was written, but the Essence of the story, there was nothing in it to keep me reading. It took me weeks to finish this book, because I kept on losing interest.

She deserved more than Max, seriously speaking. She kept on holding him and he wasn't interested in her. Well he was interested enough to sleep with her, fuck her but come on. He didn't even know her name. What does that says about her? Her self worth is non-existent.

Sorry.

Ugh. Pity-partying hero is a drama queen king. Because he only saved a kid from dying, he wants to Captain America and go back in time so nothing happens. I exaggerate but still.

During his time of self-flagellation he's serviced by an evil OW. Nice guy, as he still thinks he's a victim.

** JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

I have read each book in this series, and each one gets better every time. I love this series and how the author gives readers a second chance love story that is fills you up with so many emotions. As a reader I cried, shouted, laughed and feel in love. Shattered by Love is not a long read, for me I find it fast, but the author does not skip a beat with the details and giving readers enough to keep you connected to the characters and the plot. This latest installment is Max and Bree’s story. We saw some of them in Scarred by Love, and I was so anxious to get their story. I want to go on record and say Shattered by Love is the best in this series. C.A. Harms has done it again! She has made me fall in love with a douche canoe. The prologue is intense, and she keeps that intensity up until the very end.

Bree has had a hard life. At 7 years old she was taken away from her drunk father’s house and put into the foster care system. Finally at the age of 16 she was placed in a home and she became friends with Ryan. Whom she thinks of as a brother. Bree had a lot of hope and faith in her relationship with Max. Hoped he would want a future with her. However, she got tired of waiting for him and didn’t like being treated like second best, so she choose to keep her distance from Max.

Max is injured while on a fire rescue mission. He is having a hard time dealing with the fact that he wasn’t able save a victim without injuries. Max and Bree have a history together where he only uses or goes around her for sex. After keeping distance from each other, Bree learns of Max’s accident and goes to visit. Max is going through so many emotions that he lashes out at Bree but doesn’t realize that it was last straw for Bree.

“I’m glad you’re Okay. You’re a hero Max, you save…”

“What the h*** do you know? I’m not a f****** hero. That kid is in the hospital because of me Bree.”

“I’m so sorry, I never meant to… I just needed to see that you were okay. I’m gonna go. Sorry I upset you, Max. I never intended to.”

We get to revisit with some old characters in the first two books, Riley, Zander, Kate and Carson. And if you’ve kept track of this series you know Riley is a spitfire. She is never afraid to call anyone out, and that is what she does to Max.

“Now that I see you are in fact alive and ticking, do you mind telling me why Bree ran from this room crying?”

“Don’t Ry. Leave it alone.”

“When are you going realize, max, that she loves you? When are you going to stop worrying about everyone around you and start taking care of you and what you want? Claim what is yours, because god damn it, Mas, she is yours, and you know that. Bree adores you, even after everything you have put her through. She loves you and you deserve love. Wake up, Max, please before you ruin it all.”

Bree’s character is a tough one. She fights for what she wants, but when she reaches her breaking point she is done. She has put up with so many life obstacles that having to experience another one would just break her. When Max finally gets his head out of his ass, he is shocked to see how little he knows about Bree and how much he messed up the only good thing he had going for him.

“You don’t get to show up here and pretend that you haven’t broken my heart over and over and over. You can’t pretend you didn’t treat me like your play things day after day. You don’t care, Mas; the only thing you care about is getting laid. Now get out!”

“Bree please.”

“Just leave me alone, Max. I can’t take any more. I’m barely holding on as it is.”

I really did not care for his character at the end of book 1, and I’ll admit, I understand he was going through a traumatic experience, but I really did not like him or fall in love with him until he risked it all to get Bree back. This is where I fell in love with him. To feel his regret for hurting Bree, taking advantage of her, and the need he felt to be near her was overwhelming and powerful. I love when a man is prepared and isn’t ashamed to grovel for the woman he loves.

Taking things slow is just what the author gave us. She does not make it an instant forgiveness. It is hard for the couple and we see how they struggle to become a couple. Bree has to learn to trust Max and Max has to learn to forgive himself for things he could not control as well as the things he could have controlled. Once these two find there was back together we get some steamy, hot sex!!! Honestly Max, is good, like really good.

I just loved this story. It was intense and these characters were a work in progress. I enjoyed seeing how they worked through their issues and found what the needed in each other. The author has this way of making me connect with each of these characters on a personal level and I really felt what they were going through. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Lily and Tanner’s story will be one hell of a story.

Oh my gosh! Where to even begin!! This book blew me away – totally AMAZING from beginning to end! I’ve said this before and I will say it again, this is the type of series that gets better by the book. Really. Just when I think CA Harms has written her best work, she blows my mind yet again with her latest release! If you haven’t read any of the books in the Scarred by Love series, I highly suggest you do so. While they are all standalone novels, I would recommend reading them in order.

Shattered by Love was Max and Bree’s story. We first met Max in book one, Scarred by Love, since he’s one of Riley’s brothers (Riley is the heroine in that book). And well, he and the other brother, Tanner, were known as the playboys of the family. No woman would ever get them to settle down. Ever. Then in book two, Broken by Love, we got introduced to Bree, Max’s “friend”. But really to Bree, it was much more than that. She had fallen in love with him and while he sometimes let his jealousy get the best of him and went all caveman on Bree, he wouldn’t admit to having feelings for her. To say I was antsy to get my hands on their story would be quite the understatement.
“I love you, Bree. I’m pretty sure I have for a long time. I was just too big of an ass to face it. I’m done with games, I’m done with the bullshit. I want us.”

The accident. It took a life-changing moment for Max to open his eyes. I felt like I was at the edge of my seat reading that scene. The aftermath of everything made my heart ache for Max and all the pain he was suffering. His guilt, anguish…I could feel it. CA Harms’ writing style is incredibly beautiful. She always allows me to connect FULLY not only with the characters, but their story. Suffice it to say that Max and Bree’s journey was an emotional one that made me feel. It’s as if I was experiencing everything with them, first hand.
“Max was the best form of addiction.”

Seeing Aubree and Max come together and grow as a couple was AMAZING! The character development was perfect – nothing felt rushed or dragged out. The book’s pace was great, in my opinion. If all that wasn’t enough, I absolutely loved the emotional angst throughout the storyline. It left me desperate to read more and more. And omg! CA Harms even threw in some suspenseful drama which literally made me feel like I wasn’t turning the pages fast enough. I CANNOT WAIT FOR TANNER’S BOOK – all I’m going to say about that!
“I, the ultimate playboy, had fallen in love.”

Max and Bree’s story is a beautiful and emotional journey full of ups and downs that will hook you from the very beginning. You won’t be able to resist it. I know I didn’t. I was captivated from the very first page until the very last one. FIVE BRILLIANT STARS!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Everyone who knows me should know by now that I love a man's point of better than a woman's and Max that boy didn't disappoint in that department, "eyeing the back of her barely there dress, I think I might have groaned out loud. The damn thing was backless and cut just above her very sexy little a**, with just a thin strap crossing in the center." He's a very considerate man, "Tanner and I hit the gym early. We let you girls sleep in." I lifted my head and took him in fully. He look yummy, and I bit down on my lower lip. "You keep looking at me like that, you'll be late for class." He says the most romantic things, "pushing his c*** against me just a little harder, he groaned in my ear. "You are so effing sexy. If I wasn't worried about messing up your hair, I would eff you right here, right now." Max is a very protective man when he thinks someone has hurt what's his he goes into what I can a 'man panic mode', "where are you? Did someone hurt you? Tell me you're okay?" I was firing off questions faster than she could answer them." He talks about hi woman proudly he's not one of those men to let the world wonder what kind of woman he has he happily throws out in detail the kind of woman he has, "I effing love her. She is the perfect match for me. And the sex, holf eff, dud. The sex is amazing." My vision was blurring and he tried to hide his laughter, but I heard him chuckling." I can't wait to see how Tanner and Lily's book plays out

For the longest time all Bree was to Max was a booty call. He didn't try to get to know her. He just wanted the pleasure of her body. Bree finally came to the realization that she deserved more in a man. Someone who would love and cherish her. Unfortunately that wasn't going to be Max as he just hurt her heart over and over again. Letting him go would be so difficult as she was in love with him, but it had to be done for her to move on. Everything changes for Max in one moment. He finally sees Bree. He sees the woman that he actually loves and loves him back. Now he just has to convince her to open her heart up to him again so he can show her how much she means to him.

I so love Bree. She has such a tender heart and loves the people in her life so big even though she never experienced that growing up. Max was a total jerk at first, but then it was like that protective shell he surrounded himself in just shattered and his true heart was revealed. I loved every single one of his love decrees especially when it was way out of his comfort zone. I love that he stood by Bree in a moment when he could've very well left her to deal with it on her own. He wanted the opportunity to love her how she deserved and was willing to do anything to make that happen.

I give Shattered By Love 4 hearts!

This is the third book in this series and what a fantastic series this is. Brilliant books that seem to keep getting better.

This series is based on The Parks family. You don't wanna miss it. Bree was only a booty calk for Max. Bree truly loves Max but has she realised she deserves better and is prepared to move on. Has Max realised too late how he feels for Bree? Has he lost her for good? I so wanted to knock some sense into Max. I really loved these characters.

I'm really looking forward to more in this series. Bring on Tanner and Lily's story. Loved it.

1.5*. First of all the rating here might be because I haven't read the previous 2 books, which may be the set up for this book. but this felt like I'd come in halfway through, missed the good angsty bits and just got the tail end of the romance. Also what is it about the heroine that came across like she was a total sap.

Jan22
This time I read this in order, so I can say the previous 2 books do provide more context to the story. Yet the rating stays the same. It follows similar lines to the previous book where the H realises the error of his ways , errors are in the past and off page, and copiously apologises to the doormat heroine. That's it really, there's not much else to it.

4.5 Star Review by Lisa Kane

This is the third book from CA Harms Scarred by Love Series. I have to say I devour these books. There is such a wide canvass of characters that there is plenty of material to keep this series going for a long time.

Max Parks is a dick when it comes to his treatment of Aubree. For years he has been aware that this girl has feelings for him, but he has used her as his regular booty call and has chosen to ignore the unfairness of what he was doing. In the last book, Broken by Love, Bree finally ends things for her own sanity and self respect. She was bounced around from foster home to foster home growing up. Her parents were forced to give her up when their neglect and abuse of her was discovered. It wasn't until she met Ryan when she was a teenager that she received love and security. He is her best friend and she considers him to be her brother. She is finally ready to meet someone who will treat her with the respect she knows she deserves. Max just isn't that man.

Max is a firefighter; he is addicted to the adrenaline rush. But on his latest fire call, when he rescues a young boy things go terribly wrong. Both are taken to the hospital. Max is ridden with guilt that he slipped up and now this child will suffer because of his actions. Bree finds out he is hurt and goes to see him, but he lashes out at her and turns her away. She decides it's time to harden her heart and move on.

"I'm sorry, I never meant to..." Bree's tears ran down her cheeks heavily. "I just needed to see that you were okay. I'm gonna go. Sorry that I upset you, Max. I never intended to."
Bree immerses herself in her work as a gymnastics instructor and her college classes. She attempts dating but that ends up being a disaster and Max goes ballistic on her douchebag date. Meanwhile Max has had a few come to Jesus moments, and knows he's really screwed up his life, especially when it comes to his treatment of Bree.

Bree rarely held a smile when we were together. I was not good to her; most of our nights ended with her crying or me slipping out of her bed to go home. That thought made my stomach hurt. She deserved more than me. I wasn't good for her. I was the cocky son of a bitch that should have just left her alone.

Once he made himself examine what he feels for her, he realized that he has strong, real feelings for this girl and he may have lost his chance with her. He is determined to make her see he can and will change to get her back.

Bree was the one that made me feel whole. Any other girl just left me feeling disgusted.
Bree isn't the push over that she's been in the past. Max hurt her too many times. In her life there's been too many people that should have loved her and cared for her the way she deserved to be loved, but they didn't and it's time to break that cycle. Maybe Max isn't the one for her after all.

"Can we talk?"
Bree shook her head and refused to look at me. "Can you at least look at me?"
She lifted her head and her eyes were glassy. A knot formed in my throat, I hated that I was so mean to her. She didn't deserve that shit. Bree had never hurt me. After everything I had done to her, she still had never turned her back.
"I can't do this with you, not anymore." She turned from me before I could say another word, and I took that as my cue to walk away.
Most of the story is spent with Max repenting for his past sins with Bree and his attempts to win her back. He is a strong Alpha and has to learn to rein it in a bit. Just because he wants her doesn't mean she has to do things in the time frame he wants.

This book introduced us to Lily, who becomes a good friend to Bree and gave us more insight into Tanner, Max's brother. Lily is being stalked by someone from her past and that is a catalyst for Bree and Max's living conditions to change. Tanner is a worse man whore than Max ever was and fights his feelings for Lily. They are the subject of the next book.

Tanner's eyes never left them as they continued to flirt and laugh. The guy walked her to her car, opening the door for her. He leaned forward and kissed her cheek, and I swear I heard Tanner growl. I wasn't blind; I recognized the reaction well. I was very familiar with the inner battle he was having over Lily.
Max is trying so hard to gain Bree's trust, but one of Max's lies from the past is going to come back and bite him in the ass. He learns honesty is the best policy a little bit late in the game.

"I think we need to talk about the phone call and everything you heard."
"Oh, do you mean the blowjob queen and her abilities? We need to talk about the fact that you told me nothing was going on between you two, but you lied."

Bree thought she left her past behind her, but in a twist of fate it turns out that there is a connection to her past that she never envisioned.

"That's her, Max. Look at her. Tell me you don't see it. Please tell me I'm wrong and that this little girl couldn't possibly have experienced some of the things I did."

Max is a good guy and steps up to the plate when Bree needs him the most. But can they overcome all the heartache from before? Is Max worth taking another chance on, or will he just break Bree's heart again?

Loved this story and can't wait to feed my addiction with the next installment.

"I've waited around for you for so long, Max. I've spent a lot of time hoping that one day you would want the same things I do. Now you're saying you do, but you have to understand how nervous that makes me. I keep wondering if I'm only setting myself up once more to be crushed in the end. I'm so scared of what you could do to me, how bad you could hurt me."

"I don't expect you not to be cautious, after everything I've done to you and put you through. Just know that I will do everything I can to prove to you that I mean everything I say. I'm going to make this work between us. I won't hurt you, baby. I'll mend all the heartache I've caused you in the past. I will be the man you deserve."

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I have been waiting for this book since Max was first introduced. I have loved getting to know the characters of the Scarred by Love series, but there has always just been something about Max. C.A. Harms definitely did not disappoint with this installment in the series, and I honestly loved it. Max was everything I had been waiting for and more. This book was definitely my favorite so far in the series, even though I have really enjoyed each book.

Max has always been cocky and arrogant. He took what he wanted with little regard for anyone but himself. Though he liked Bree, he never committed himself to her and didn't treat her the way she deserved. Finally deciding that enough is enough, Bree sets out to move past what she had with Max. Though she loves him, she wants and deserves more and is tired of hoping for him to return her feelings. But when things suddenly change after a devastating night on the job for Max, he realizes just how badly he has screwed up. Max sets out to win back Bree, knowing that he must do anything he can to prove to her he has changed. But will it be too little too late?

I loved Max! He was a cocky jerk that didn't think of others and had been so used to getting what he wanted. He was horrible to Bree and she was pretty much a hookup that he thought little of. But then you get to know him in this book and start to see that he had been pushing her away and denying his feelings. He was beating himself up so badly through this book because of everything, and you could really see just how awful he felt. He knew that he screwed up and that he had a lot of making up to do, and I think that was what won me over fully for him. He wasn't afraid to lay it all on the line and admit not only his faults but also his feelings. Bree had been through so much and at first glance she kind of came off as a bit of a doormat. She let Max get away with a ton, but as the story went on you got to see that she really was standing up for herself and making him work for it. Her feelings for Max were so strong, and she loved him faults and all. So it was really easy for me to see why she kept hoping that things between them would change, even after everything he had put her through. I am so glad that she gave him more than one chance, because these two were so great together. They were super hot and you could really feel the chemistry between them, but the love these two shared was undeniable.

Overall, I really enjoyed this installment. Max and Bree are my favorite characters from this series so far, although I love them all. Something about Max and Bree really spoke to me though, and I felt more connected to these two than I have with the others. They are both fighters and would do anything for those they loved, and I think that is a lot of why I just couldn't get enough of these two. I definitely recommend this series, and each book can be read as a standalone story. But I really like this series and would suggest starting at the beginning. You get so much more out of each story knowing what the characters have been through and seeing the progress each of them has made. I loved how C.A. Harms set up Tanner's story next, and I am really looking forward to seeing him work for it like Max did. Tanner might have even more ground to make up when it comes to winning Lil over and I can't wait to see how hard he falls.

When it comes to CA Harms I need a scale with way more than 5 stars !! Every book I read by her gets better and better !! I was so excited for Max's book , you could tell by the way he was mentioned in book 2 that he would be getting his story and then when the accident happens you know you just needed his story ASAP. The wait was brutal but the reward was sweet !! Max is total alpha male , can be a cocky jerk and has been using Bree as a booty call for quite some time. Bree has always allowed this but now has realized she deserves better than that. It doesn't take long after the accident for Max to realize he wants his life to be different. This story is the journey of Max and Bree , starting over and becoming more than they ever thought possible. More than they realized they wanted !!

Things between these 2 have always been electric , that was never the issue. The issue was wanting more and deserving more than the late night booty calls. Bree tries to move on and it doesn't go very well. Once Max gets wind of her trying to move on he doesn't react very well. It happens rather quickly that they fess up and decide to get to know each other. They each have pasts that come back to make waves. Max of course has a past of easy girls and annoying friends. Bree's past goes much deeper than any of that having to do with her family and neglect. When faced with a major life decision surprisingly to most Max steps up and helps Bree and becomes the man he never really knew he wanted to be. Actually both Max and Tanner had some pretty great moments when it came to the new addition to the family !! There are the twists and turns along the way the heartbreak learning of Bree's past. The joy that the Park's brothers and all the friends/family celebrate when major milestones are being reached by each and every couple. I enjoyed being able to hear from the rest of the gang and to also get the storyline for the next book !! Lily and Tanner will have a great story , I am thrilled for that !! MAx and Bree are freakin hot and I enjoyed every mouthwatering minute of them !! I could read about their journey over and over , actually any of these books in any of this authors series would be exciting to read again and again.

All three of these books are great. I am excited about the entire series and lucky that I can start with book one and continue immediately onto book two, followed by book three. All the reviews are found in this post.

The relationships in this book appear to be volatile. Not necessarily physically damaging, but verbally and mentally they are not good relationships. It seems that every couple in this story play games with each other and are constantly playing a tug of war game with each other’s feelings. That I did not enjoy, but there are many other things that I do love about this book.

The friendships in this book are the best. The friendship between Zander and Beth, shadow my life. When I was in high school and college my best friend was a man. There were times it was hard to play second fiddle to the women in his life, but I was always there for him just like Beth. Then there is the friendship between Kate and Riley. They have been roommates and friends for so long they can feel each other’s feelings before they are spoken. All the girls in this book are amazing. They are all women, but are strong women. They stand up for each other, even when it means stand against their respective men. The “Girls Nights” make me jealous, I want those with my friends.
Bree is absolutely my favorite character. She is sweet, loving, and puts up with so much BS from Max. I love that she finally pushes him to man up and of course Max man’s up bigger and stronger than anyone else. Their story is my favorite. Even with Bree’ s rough history, she is the strongest female character with the biggest heart.

What I Thought:

Wow. Just wow. Having gotten all the series in prep for this tour, I blazed through all the books. I became addicted to the emotion, the love, the turmoil and the excellent writing style by CA Harms. I practically read each book in a single sitting.
I found Max and Bree's story an invigorating story that rang true with me. So often we have been in or know friends in the situation these two are in. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting, hoping and wondering where their epic encounters and steamy relationship would head.
Sometimes it takes a life altering event to awaken the fire in your soul, opening you to love and the possibilities of a life filled with another's presence. Max, the strong willed and strong bodied firefighter, had just that, on a grand scale. His life and mindset completely changed, giving him a one time opportunity to make amends and try to heal the heart and soul of his lover, to make a life together.
I loved following their journey. They had their ups downs, and sexy moments to heat up the pages. The scenes weren't over the top, just lustful and addicting. The characters were strong real, making them easy to relate to, easy to bring them into your mind and feel like you are a part of the story.

This read is one of the most addicting love stories I have read in a while, and who doesn't love a sexy firefighter? I highly recommend this read if you are looking for something hot to keep you warmed on these cold winter nights. Men and women, grab this book for yourselves, your friends and your partners, it's one worth reading again and again.

Shattered by Love is the 3rd book in the scarred by love series and C.A. Harms has not disappointed, this is Max and Bree's story.

We meet both Max and Bree in the first 2 books and they have a strange love story, Bree is madly in love with Max but Max is a womaniser and only goes to Bree for a midnight booty call. Bree seams to go along with this but towards the end of book 2 she finally walks away wanting more.

In book 3 this is their story, something changes and Max finally realises what he wants and that is Bree to be in his life and that he want no one else but her. You will love the changes that occur in Max as you read through his book.

Like all of this series there is a wonderful story line that strengthen the relationship between our lovers and you see how deeply they truly love each other. All the old characters are here too and you realise you just love all of the Parks family because they all support each other to the very end and band together to help those they love.

This book was so easy to read and I found myself finishing it quickly hoping to see how it ends. Your emotions will run high through this book and I found myself smiling and crying at times. As with all of the books in this series there is a hint and room for another book and I hope it will be about the last Parks womaniser , Tanner who will finally come to his senses and settle down.

I gave this book 5 stars and I think C.A. Harms has a hit with this series.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well I was kept interested in the story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, and heartbreak.

I would recommend reading the below before reading this story
Scarred by Love (Scarred by Love, #1)
Broken by Love (Scarred by Love, #2)

This is Bree and Max’s story. Max does not need anyone. But after one night he started questioning everything. His life and all the things he has believed of himself. After continually pushing Bree away and treating her like his very own booty call he is suddenly without her. She is moving on and he does not like it. He just realized that he needs her. Now he has to win her back. After pulling out all the stops and finally telling her he loves her are his lies that he told so she didn’t get hurt now going to be what rips them apart forever?

I loved both Max and Bree. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. I have to say I really love this series!!! I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author.

I was given a copy of Shattered by Love for an honest review.

This story is about a women named Bree, who has had a terrible and rough childhood. She meets the ultimate alpha male hottie and what does he do? Treats her like yesterdays trash. Being the strong women she is she stops letting Max treat her like this and tries to move on.

Max is a firefighter. He is a womanizer and treats woman as if they are of little worth. One day, while on the job, things change in a blink of an eye. Max now rethinks of his life and of how things could have been. He realizes he treated Bree horribly. He is now bitter and angry and knows things must change.

This story is about second chances. This story was a great story about over coming bad situations, rising above it and becoming a better person. The story was easy flowing and kept my attention. I look forward to reading more of this series. I will go back and read the other two before this one. This is the third in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I give this book 4 stars. I love the Parks siblings. Each book in the Scarred by Love series follows a siblings. If you haven't read the first to book, I don't think you will lost reading this one. The Parks family is a close family so we get information on all family members in each book. Shattered by Love centers around Max and Bree.

I love Max. He has also been the cocky confident one. Bree has feelings for Max but to Max Bree has always been just a booty call.

Something happens to Max and we side a different side of him. Bree has had a not so could upbringing but she is a loving person with a big heart. Although Max's accident is not nice, I'm glad it happened because it open his eye to a good things that has been right in front of him. Once Max realizes that he wants Bree, he goes for what he wants. Both Max and Bree have some things to deal with in this story. They are great together and each other may be all they need to help them through the rough times.

Shattered by Love is a great story. I can't wait to read Tanner's story next.

Max is a smoking hot Firefighter. Bree is a beautiful girl who's had a rough life now she's in love with Max except all Max wants from her is a booty call. Bree is trying to keep her distance from him but when he's in an accident, she can't stay away. Max is angry at himself because he thinks he hesitated when he shouldn't have. When Bree comes to see him, he takes that anger out on her. Max takes some time to get his head straight but when he comes back and see Bree he knows he did her wrong and is going to fight to make it right. Bree is hesitating when Max lays it out but she willing to take a chance knowing sh he has the power to shatter her. I can say I'm not big when bad boys turn ultra mushy, but Max had done Bree wrong, so his grovelling was enjoyable and not over the top- they still had some issues, so it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns. Hot, juicy, steamy sex scenes. Fabulous ending

I read the first two and loved them so much and this one just the same.
I love all the characters, they are such a close knit family and friends who always have each other's backs, Max and his brothers I adore and I really liked Bree, even way back in the first book when she was mentioned tho more so in the 2nd.
I did think that unlike the first two books the couple, being Max and Bree, they got back together very early on in the book so therefore losing the anticipation and the chase, but reading on they have other battles to face and deal with so its not all plain sailing for them.
Reading this series just makes me wish I could find myself one of these handsome, strong, sexy, arrogant, pig headed but protective, caring and ultimately loving men lol.
As usual I can't wait for the next one, Tanner and Lily's story.

The Parks family is a family I want to belong to. Wow. So many dynamics to follow. Max is a hot sexy Alpha male and Bree is the woman that loves him. Following them on their journey was absolutely the best. Max's stubbornness had me screaming at the pages and Bree finally makes up her mind, she deserves to be treated better than Max has treated her in the past. You can feel the love they feel, the torment they each are going through. Their heartache is gut wrenching and at the same time the determination of each family member has you shouting, I want more! I give this 5 stars.

Actual rating: 4.5 stars!

Oh, Max. I had been waiting for his story and C.A. didn't disappoint me! The chain of events that held this plot together were surprisingly well depicted and unpredictable, considering the length of the novel. I appreciated the character development; it was believable and engaging. I really enjoyed getting into Bree's POV, as well. Just like with the rest of the novels in the series, the secondary characters added that extra spark that I love. If you like second chance romance--this is one I'd recommend you pick up!

I have to say this is my favorite out of the series so far.
This was a true taming the beast story, Max thought that Bree would always be there, No matter what he did or how he treated. BOY. WAS. HE. WRONG!!! Bree proved to be a toughie. She was all spit and fire and told Max off when she had to.
I was glad with how things worked out in this book. The ending was my favorite
