Life is wild, isn’t it?! I mean, seriously, every other day is like “What the heck?!” I’m just a girl trying to figure it all out. And my name? Oh, I’m Jonesy.
This was my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be the last!! I thoroughly enjoyed Jonesy’s growth as a character. I was a little sketchy about her at first, but the more i read, she grew on me. And let’s not forget Gammy!! She literally kept it together giving Jonesy the tough love she needed. It reminded me of every nana & grandma in the family. 5/5 i DEFINITELY recommend
Just like De'Andrea's "Pretty Girls Don't Cry", this book had laugh out loud and teary-eyed moments. It was a sweet, kinda hood, novel about life, love, and growth. JJ and her village were tight-nit and supportive. Gammy was a hoot from start to finish, and Brianca was the perfect best friend. Blake was everything J deserved, with a side of Blick. Then there was Nia. It was good to witness the repair of their relationship and the forgiveness of some past wrongs. Overall, this was a great story. I want to read more from this author.... I discovered De'Andrea and two of her books during BRAE.
Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. I love a good drama and DeAndrea delivered! Jonesyyy is not one to be played with and she showed you what happened if you did. The way I fell in love with these characters like they were my family didn't make any sense at all but thats what happens when an author is talented and pulls you into the story. I cried, almost broke my phone throwing it.. man the characters were so relatable so when they went through something it felt like I did too!!
This novel had me giggling and kicking my feet. I was shocked, surprised and smiling so hard my face hurt. This by far was the cutest heartfelt novel I have ever read…
I have to say that I can relate to Jonesy in a lot of ways! This is one for the shelf. I’ll definitely be reading this one again! 10/10…
When I say De’ Andrea doesn’t miss, I absolutely mean that. Every book I’ve read from her catalog is a great read. The characters are relatable. You are guaranteed to have a good laugh and have the feels. I love the southern girl representation. She’s definitely one of my favorites. Highly recommend 10/10.
There was so much going on in this book. I can't wait for the second boy. The cliffhanger had me at the edge of my plane seat. The main characters went through so much. It was hard to forgive after going through everything. Her mother was supposed to protect her, and she didn't. There were so many lies. I am looking forward to reading the next book
Good comfort read This book was soo good! It’s not a slow burn but it’s not fast paced either. I loved the characters and the character development, for a good minute I thought it would be tragic ending but it’s a cute little HEA. Ofcourse I loved Jonesy finally having that person to make her give up control and it fit her so well. Definitely worth the read!
This was a nice read for a pick me up. Jonesy and her grandmother really made me literally laugh out loud. It had a few heart tugging moments and a lot of laughter. I enjoyed it. This is only my second read from De' Andrea. I definitely look forward to reading more books from this talented authors.
I was locked in from the start. Started connecting with and stopped judging ole Jonesy about a third of the way through and boy was she and the crew something else. There were for sure joy, sorrow and growth in this book and it was worth the ride.
I laughed. I cried. I was an emotional mess reading this book. The characters were so vivid, and smells, storylines all around good. Definitely would love to see where Jones’s, Blake, and Ms Evani are in a few years
This book had me tickled . The dialogue was perfect and I just love the mini Star Ms Myra . This was so realistic and so happy some themes were touched on
This was a really good read. The plot was top tier. I was drawn in from the first chapter and very satisfied by the end. Y'all just read the damn book.
This was an absolute gem of a book. I loved everything about it. The love of family, friends, dealing with challenges of life, and overcoming it all together.
This book was hilarious and heartfelt. I admitted the depth of the characters and how real the events were. The growth of Jonesy was really something to marvel at.
