Town doctor, Jude Southerland asked Autumn Maddox to marry him and she said yes. The dress has been bought, the church reserved, and the band booked. Happily ever after here they come.
But when the couple gets an unexpected surprise, plans have to change, leaving the whole town wondering if they will make it to the altar on time.
Feels Like Family is Book 2.5 in the Southerland series and while it is a fun story on its own, readers may enjoy it more if it is read after Loving Bailey and before Practical Arrangement.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Evelyn Adams loves coffee, her kids, Netflix, and books. Not necessarily in that order. If she's not writing steamy romances, she's chasing kids, reading, or binging Mrs Maisel
This is Feels Like Family written by Evelyn Adams. It’s a novella and I was left wanting much more. It’s part of a series so I plan on going to find the rest of the series and absorb it up. It’s a great book!
Do not read this book before you read book 1. This book is ultimately Autumn and Jude’s next stage in creating their life together. This is the planning and wedding we’ve all been waiting for. Evelyn managed to maintain all the emotion and character development she had built in the previous books.
I don’t want to give this book away but if you’ve been reading this series this is a must read. Yes, you could read book 3 first like I did but this book puts some things from book 3 into perspective that you don’t have without reading this one.
I generally avoid novellas. I find that the stories tend to lack the depth and emotion that I enjoy in my reading material but once in a while I pick up one that was absolutely written and meant to be a novella. This is one of those books. This book is a perfect bridge and update to Autumn and Jude. This is the book that wouldn’t be fair to put into anyone else’s story, not long enough to build a full length book out of it and yet the series would feel incomplete without it. This book is what I think every novella should have to be.
Autumn and Jude are getting married. Autumn feels like she has a bug since she keeps getting sick. When she finds out she's pregnant she's worried everyone will think she got knocked up to force Jude to marry her. How will Jude react to the news? Great read
Something to tide you over, from engagement to wedding and all the gossip in between. The characters keep developing and the sense of family and community is there in between the lines. The plot arch of the series propels the reader into the next novel.
In the first book of “The Southerland” series tells the story of these two amazing people in “Feels Like Home” as a free copy.
In Feels Like Family which is Book 2.5 brings us to the Wedding of the eldest Southerland siblings, Jude Southerland, to the girl from the wrong side of the tracks, Autumn Maddox, who stole his heart.
As all wedding preparations are coming together and the gown ordered, and the bridal shower about to take place….an unexpected surprise is about to be revealed that could change this couples HEA.
This can be a read alone book but after you read this one, you cannot stop from continuing reading this loving and amazing series from Evelyn Adams as The Southerlands.
Like the first book in the series, this was sweet. For those of us disappointed in the quick ending in the first book, this gives us completion. I enjoyed the family dynamics as well as Autumn and Jude's relationship. There was one interesting little twist to their story which just added to the strength to their love. This book makes me want to read the next in the series. One, because I want to know about the wedding and two, I want Summer to get her happily ever after. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
SPOILER ALERT - DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE SPOILER - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
I bought this with the expectation of reading about Jude's and Autumn's wedding. I was disappointed because this VERY short story is merely events leading up to the wedding. There is no big event. I'm guessing it'll be in the next book released in this series.
There's a hint of the next story being about Summer, Autumn's sister and Travis, Jude's brother recently home from the service.
This book, Feels like Family is #2.5 in the Southerland family series. This is just a short novelette that deals with the short time leading up to Jude and Autumn's wedding. Do not read this book before you read Book #1, Feels like Home. Book #2, Loving Bailey is about Jude's sister Bailey. I am very much enjoying this series by Evelyn Adams. I am off to find my next read, #3 Practical Arrangement.
'Feels like Family' (The Southerlands, #2.5) by Evelyn Adams is a great, quick read. This novella is an excellent addition to The Southerlands Series. I loved getting to know a little more about Jude and Autumn. I enjoyed this story. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more about this family. Highly recommend to all fans of romance!
Oh i just love this Couple. Jude has proposed and now Wedding planning has begun. There is one little thing they had not forseen!!!! A BABY. Wow. Autumn worries what will everyone think. Jude's mum is a little Star and so is the rest of the family. Wonderful how they ALL take care of Autumn. Brilliant story.
It was nice to revisit Autumn and Jude. They are so cute together. It's wonderful to see that continue. The plot of thIs short is ridiculously predictable but fits perfectly with the entire situation and relationship
This is by far the sweetest books ever. I loved the way Autumn loved her sister and niece and never gave up on them .I adored Jude. I like that he never stopped pursuing Autumn and finally got her at the end. I can't wait to read the next on
Some how I got my hands on this thinking it was Feels like home. I have both on my Kindle but read this first. Oh, wheel. It's a quick read. Very cute. The characters are fun. I can't wait to really dive into the Southerland family.
Wonderful to catch up with Jude & Autumn. The summary at the beginning is very misleading on this one. The wedding is never in jeopardy. There are however, some new developments of note. Best to read it to find out what they are.
Really good story. I liked it from beginning to the end and also like how the author continues to follow the characters lives from the previous books. look forward to what the next book will bring.
This was a very quick read that basically led up to the wedding of Autumn and Jude. Not a lot of events but it was good. I didn't find a lot of substance in this book, but it was okay.
This was a great companion book to the first two books of this series. Evelyn Adams s a great author. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. She makes you believe that all other characters are real and that you know them personally. She has you rooting for them and wanting to be a part of their lives. I love reading books in a series format. I get really involved with the characters. Thanks to Evelyn for making hers so great to follow.
