Fifty Shades of Grey meets Game of Thrones in this erotic, passionate novel—Part 4 of the 1,001 Erotic Nights series from nationally bestselling author Lisa Cach—about a Roman Empire sex slave on a journey of betrayal, seduction, vengeance, and love.
Beautiful Nimia, who was tutored in sexual arts by her first master, a king, is very appealing to powerful men in more ways than one: she has a prophetic gift that’s triggered by sexual encounters.
In Warlord’s Captive, Nimia’s quest to find her lost tribe and develop her prophetic power takes her to Britannia, to find a druid called Merlin who’s renowned for his sorcery…and his sexual perversions. Though Merlin is the one man who might understand her, it’s his half-brother Arthur whom she sees in her visions. But before she can go to either of them, she’ll have to escape the clutches of the scheming warlord Mordred.
Lisa Cach grew up in a farm near Portland, Oregon, a place she loves although she'd always trying to leave it. Wanderlust has led her to sail the Sargasso Sea, teach English in Japan, and trek the leech-infested jungles of Borneo. She has degrees in both English and psychology, two subjects that were fun to learn about but that guaranteed her low-paying jobs. Her father, she admits, may have been right about the MBA.
Lisa started to writing romances in her parents' basement during snatched moments from work. Since her writing career began her free time has become less and less as her novels become more and more popular. She's loved romance novels since Junior High School, and at least now she doesn't have to worry about getting caught reading one. Lisa married, and bought with her husband a home in Seattle, Washington. She describes her personal paradise as "...a pile of books, a plate of brownies, and the free time in which to enjoy them".
First of all, I really don't understand why anyone would give a book 1 or 2 stars when it's the fourth in the series and you haven't read the others. Obviously there will be things you missed and giving it two stars for that is just silly.
Anyway, I'm really loving how the supernatural elements of this story are developing and my history minor self is so excited with the setting of every one of these novellas. I wasn't as into the sexy times in this one but I'm highly anticipating the next installment. Keep em coming please! (No pun intended.. Ok maybe a little bit)
Installment #4 in a series - so no this does not stand-alone. Nimia and Terix are now in Britannia trying to track down Merlin (yes, THAT Merlin) who possibly holds clues to Nimia's lost past. Not quite as steamy and over-the-top as the previous installments, but still gives off a nice "old school" erotic romance vibe. I'm also half in love with Terix at this point - and hope he gets some sort of happy ending. Highlight of this installment? Nimia gets in touch with her inner Dominatrix.
Giving a one star rating seems too much. I was lured in by the Game of Thrones and Arthurian references of the summary but did not enjoy reading a single page of this text. This book's place in a series is repeatedly illustrated via unexplained references to the previous events which was confusing and frustrating.
Even though the story continued it seems as if it strayed from the original plot. Nowhere within the first 3 books did it have much of bdsm but in this book, it just all of a sudden jumped to it. That jump didn't really did not go smoothly. Was not impress all that much but I will finish the series. Totally enjoyed the first three books but this one was ify iffy.
This is a quick read and part of The 1,001 Erotic Nights Series. The story has an interesting premise and is steamy, however it was hard to follow along as it referenced things that had happened in the previous portions of the series. I would recommend reading the entire series.
