Insane book!!! a perfect mix of mystery, forbidden love, and psychological twists. This book had me so hooked. I finished it in two days. If you love a thriller with a powerful romance this book for you!!!

Wow! What an incredible book! I honestly couldn’t put it down because I had to know how it ended. It had the same gripping intensity as a Freida McFadden novel. Hard to believe this is a debut novel - Julia Emma definitely has a bright future ahead!

This book is hauntingly beautiful and emotionally powerful. Each chapter pulls you deeper into her story—raw, vulnerable, and deeply human. The writing is lyrical without being overdone, and the pacing is just right. I couldn’t stop reading. This is a book that lingers in your mind and heart long after the last page.

Wow. It’s honestly hard to put into words how much I loved this book. The fact that The Unravelling of Her is a debut romantic psychological thriller makes it even more impressive.
There were so many elements I adore in thrillers:
The writing style is lyrical, reflective, and emotionally sharp. Julia Emma has a remarkable command of language that mirrors the story’s emotional pace.
The high school setting is raw and authentic. The portrayal of teenage friendships, admiration, jealousy, first crushes, and silent rivalries felt incredibly real.
Character development and psychological depth are spot on. You connect with the characters, understand them, root for them, and then you’re completely caught off guard. This story knows how to shock the reader, but always with purpose.
Bonus: The author casually mentions my favorite comfort TV series. And no, I’m not telling which one. You’ll have to read it yourself.
In short, check this book out. If the premise intrigues you even a little, please add it to your TBR. I promise it’s worth it.

This is a dark psychological romance. It is about a forbidden and somewhat dangerous relationship between a student Allie, and her teacher Mr. James. There are so many twists and turns in the plot and things you never see coming. I read a lot of dark romance but haven't delved much into the physiological thriller aspects of dark romance so this one was a real treat. I will look forward to more from this author.

This novel has so much substance for a short read . It was definitely unputdownable.
Poor Allison can't trust anyone . The saddnest never stopped. 😔
I had chills toward the middle of the book and my skin crawled many of times . It's a little gorey at times .

LOVED!! I finished this in 24 hours it was so good!! It was giving pretty little liars mixed with a darker element in part 2 which I ate up.

There seems to be an error in the time jump from part one to part two which confused me a lot at first, but I sticked to the three year one as it made the most sense taking her age into account. The ending left me confused, but I think that’s because I am in denial. I think you will understand if/when you read it.
This is a great debut from Julia Emma. I’m looking forward to seeing what she writes next. I feel like I need a few psychological sessions after this. (And I think I will stay with being in denial for now)

I was already in the middle of another book when I randomly picked this up just to change the mood, and bam—I was pulled into the story instantly. I couldn’t stop reading. Couldn’t stop thinking.
Julia Emma’s storytelling is gripping and unputdownable. I felt so deeply connected with Allison. There’s something in her pain and her guarded nature that felt eerily familiar. I was furious at the betrayal, the backstabbing… How could people she trusted—her so-called best friends—hurt her like that?
And the abuse… oh, my heart. I stood by Allison till the very end whispering, "Do it, babe. Don’t forgive him. He’s an animal."
I was fully invested… and then that twist. WHAT a twist! I was shocked. Literally sat there stunned.
This might be the author’s debut, but she absolutely nailed it. 100/100. Mark my words—Julia Emma is going to be a very successful thriller author.

This definitely felt a lot like reading ‘My Dark Vanessa’ but what makes this even better is that you’ve gotta read it through til the end as it had a surprising twist.
Thank you to the author for giving me this ebook and it definitely was fast paced too. Read it in less than 3hrs as it was quite bingeable!

Okay, I might have to update my review bc I JUST finished this book and my mind is still spinning at 150mph.
Allie does not have an easy life. Shes been betrayed or hurt by everyone she’s cared about or thought cared about her. She left her complicated past behind—new school, new life.
Even made new friends.. including Mr.James, a teacher that all the teenage girls have a crush on..
You think you know what’s going on and then the story does a 180. It’s intriguing, the plot picks up, and then it blows your mind.
Read the trigger warnings. There is grooming/ an inappropriate relationship, but in no way does the author romanticize the relationship.
Trust me, you have to read till the end 👀

From the very first page, I was pulled into Allison’s story and found myself completely wrapped up in the twists, turns, and emotional unraveling. This is one of those psychological thrillers that keeps you questioning everything until the very end—and I loved every second of it.

Oh what a TRIP this was! The first part takes place in a high school setting, and then it jumps ahead a few years which I thought was so fun and felt like a series I’d watch and love lol. The main character’s internal experience was SO relatable and made me feel super emotionally connected right from the start. Part 2 felt more poetic in the writing style, in a good way - I really love this author’s writing style in general! I flew through it. There’s nothing I love more than an unreliable narrator and this ending caught me off guard which is always so refreshing in thrillers. Thank you so much to the author! Can’t wait to see what you do next!

I really enjoyed this book and I would have absolutely devoured it in one sitting if I had enough time to read. But even though I was very busy last weekend I still read it in two days.
This books is really fast paced and has short chapters so l basically flew through it. Because of the forbidden romance aspect and the stalker that appears it reminded me so much of pretty little liars and I loved it.
I didn't see the plot twist coming but it still felt realistic and not too far fetched. The ending was a little open which gives the possibility to let your mind wander a bit or for a second book. I would definitely be down for it.

Julia Emma, what a fantastic debut novel! I was hooked right from the prologue. Her writing made it so easy to resonate and feel for the main character. In the 2nd half of the book, it took a turn with a plot twist I was not expecting. I loved the combination of it being a psychological thriller with darker, romantic themes. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

i was in complete shock by that plot twist at the end ... holy moly me oh my! allison has such a unique character voice that you truly don't know what her next move will be and you as a reader do watch her completely unravel. and i know we are supposed to not like mr james ... but COMEON! something about him!

This book gripped me from the very first pages and kept me there all the way to the swell of the building climax, except when it was time to come down, it turned into a roller coaster with loops and twists that had me gasping for air. Brilliant execution of a plot with an ending I couldn’t predict until I was there living it. Can’t wait to see what else this author creates!

This was a wild ride. WILD! The twist 😮!
This is a fast paced quick read that left me wanting at least another 100 pages!! This story is very intricate and complex and yet intriguing and completely draws you in until it’s wrapped you around it’s little pinky.
I felt such a range of emotions. Pity, sadness, empathy, rage, disgust, confusing, fear …the list goes on. Allie is an amazing character. The way her story unfolds is beautifully done and such a treat for a reader.
Don’t sleep on this book! Read it …and thank me later lol!

Ah. l liked this thriller , it definitely had a twist I wasn’t suspecting and that’s hard to do for me to work thriller novels .
