Oh my, this was terrible. It should have been good, funny even. What is up with these books coming up with a hilarious premsis, and then not following through? I don't understand. Where was the throw-up?! Geez! Surrounded by all of these beautiful people, and for someone that is suppose to barf whenever she gazes upon beauty, there was none. I mean none! I was expecting some awesome comedic stylings coming out of there with maybe some romantic flare. The romantic flare was there, but oh, was I bored.

This should have been done in an urban style with some jagged barf when gazing upon the face of beauty. The randomness could have followed along the crazy lines of FLCL.

So I muddle through the first volume, barely. I get through the first chapter of the next, and couldn't do it anymore. Just couldn't. We all know what that means though. I skip it and go the last volume. That's just how I roll. There is some weird need of mine to know the ending to terrible stories, esp romantic ones.

Another adorable high school story from Aya Oda, Beauty introduces a heroine who gets physically ill if she has to look at beautiful people for too long. So not only does she almost vomit on her love interest multiple times, but of course she suddenly finds herself conscripted into the Beauty Research Club and being pursued by the two hottest boys in school. She actually does get together with one of them by book's end, so I'm curious to see how Oda's going to keep the story going for five more volumes.

Simply put, this is cute, sweet, and not quite as a good as her series in Petit (where she now works), but definitely worth reading and tracking down the other books in the series.
