Kris Kringle is just an average guy living in the tiny town of North Pole, Maine where Christmas isn’t just a holiday—it’s a way of life. But not for Kris. He might be named after the big guy in red, but Kris is more Scrooge than Santa.

Until he wakes up from a night of partying with his friends to find himself in possession of a Santa suit, a toy bag and a puppy. Kris soon discovers that he’s been relegated to Santa’s naughty list and there’s only one way to get his name removed....put on the suit and spread some cheer.

Lucky for Kris every cloud has a silver snowflake and his quest to get off that list lands him in the arms of the woman he’s been lusting after for years.

It takes a little magic, but Kris is about to get everything he didn’t even know he wanted for Christmas.

"Ho, Ho, bloody Ho" - Kris is preparing to hunker down at home and stay there until Christmas, his least favourite time of the year, is over and done with.
Unfortunately, it ain't going to work that way - waking up after a night on the town Kris discovers that, like it or not, he is going to be Santa Claus in his home town, North Pole, Maine.
"Kissing Kris Kringle" very short, very festive and very sweet.

The book I read was Web of Smoke by Erin Grady. It matches the description here in Goodreads, however the rest of the information is hilariously incorrect. Every other review is for a book that sounds like a Santa rom-com which I can assure you this book is NOT.

Unsure how to report the wild discrepancies but figured I should at least leave a note here.

Title: KISSING KRIS KRINGLE
Series: Secret Santas Collection (2014) #1
Category /Genre: Romance/Holidays (Christmas, magic, Santa), Short-story (under 2 hrs)
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Erin Quinn (in exchange for an honest review)
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

This is the first book in a trilogy created by the authors, Erin Quinn, Calista Fox, and Mary Leo, designed around the town of North Pole, Maine. After a night of heavy partying, three friends each wake to find that they are on Santa’s naughty list. In a town where Christmas is a way of life, these three are about to find out that Christmas magic is real.

Could you imagine growing up with the name Kris Kringle? In any other town, it would be a life sentence of teasing, but in North Pole, Maine, it is not surprising at all. What is surprising is that Kris is more like a Scrooge. When he finds himself on the naughty list… the REAL naughty list held by the big guy… he finds himself donning the red suit and creating Christmas magic for the town… and for himself.

This is exactly the kind of feel-good, family, home, and warm puppy kind of book you want to read at Christmas time. Oh, and did I mention the love? Sigh! This is why I love Christmas love stories.

This was the first book I have read from Erin Quinn. Could someone please tell me why this is my first?? She’s fabulous!!! She is now on my list of authors I want to read. I’m adding them all to my TBR pile.

This is a short little novella well worth the 99 cent price tag for some fun Christmas reading. Kris is kind of the town scrooge. When he was a boys his dad was a UPS driver out working on Christmas eve when he was hit and killed by a drunk driver. Not to many years later his mom died too and he thinks it was from a broken heart no matter what the doctors said. Because of this he hates Christmas. Thing is he lives in a town called North Pole and all the streets there have Christmas themed names and it seems all the people do too. Kind of hard to get away from Christmas in December at least. After a night of to much drinking with friends he finds himself in the possession of a Santa suit complete with bag and a puppy. Hard as he tries he can't get out of wearing the suit. In doing so he gets to be around a long lost love of his from his school years, Holly. Can he find love and find his Christmas spirit? What do you think? lol This is the cutest story with a dash of sexy to with it. I love how the whole book has a Christmas theme even the characters names. I give Kissing Kris Kringle 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Picks stars. A definite pick me up if you need to get into the Christmas spirit.

If you ever wanted to read about a Christmas Miracle, start here. Kris Kringle, starts off as a man wanting nothing more than to leave, get away from where he lives and everything involved there. That is, everything but Holly the female who has held his attention from childhood.
One night something happens and he ends up taking over as Santa and warming the hearts of the town, Holly and shockingly even himself.
The characters are well written, realistic in every way. Holly has her doubts about Kris, and herself, seeing nothing of worth that he could possibly be attracted to. By the end your belief in Christmas miracles as well as romance will be renewed. I only wished there had been more. More time to watch as the relationship between Kris and Holly grew, more time to watch them battle each other and their feelings for each other before giving in. While the characters were well written and likable, the story seemed to move a tad fast for me. I would have liked to see her rebuff him more, turn him away before letting him into her life. Maybe have Joy be a little more hesitant in welcoming him into their lives as well, seeing as she barely knew this man. It just seemed a bit rushed to me. But none the less, the story was one of romance, just the way every woman hopes a new romance will begin after losing her hope.

Oh my gosh!

Kissing Kris Kringle was absolutely, 100% adorable and amazing! I was a little leary at first when I read the blurb and noticed that it was a novella. I'm not a big fan of them and this seemes like quite a bit of story to shove into a short 67 pages!

Guess what?!?

Somehow, someway...it works! It starts out quite hilarious and transitions smoothly to a more serious romance that kept me begging for more with each page that I turned. Not one single bit of the story felt rushed or short changed. The characters are well developed and completely believable. The town is charming and realistic with its struggle. I found myself connecting to the story as a whole.

I was worried that the magic aspect of the story would be too much and ruin it for me. But it didn't. I was a little surprised by the acceptance and lack of bewilderment of the towns people when Santa just stops by...but I suppose with all of the stories of sightings passed down it could be easier to accept.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and absolutely recommend it as a quick holiday read! It would be absolutely perfect for a short trip read :) I can't wait to check out the other books in this series!

This book is the perfect Christmas treat from one of my favorite authors. Everything about this darling novella screams holiday spirit, from the perfectly rendered small town of North Pole, Maine, to the characters with delightful holiday names (like Vixen, Cupid, Rudy, and Holly).

I fell in love with the title character, Kris Kringle. He begins the book damaged and heartbroken, but through the grace of some very mysterious happenings, he’s able to find not only some joy in the holiday season, but love as well. He’s charming and chivalrous, despite his broken past. (Very swoon-worthy!) I also really enjoyed Holly as the main love interest for Kris. I loved that she’s just your normal girl, with insecurities and family obligations. It was refreshing to read a romance novel that doesn’t feature a picture-perfect leading lady. Holly is loving and dedicated to her young daughter Joy, and I adored the family aspect that it brought to the book.

If you’re looking for a quick way to get into the holiday spirit, grab this book. It’s short and sweet with a romance that is sure to warm your heart.

I started this first of a Secret Santa Holiday as just something to take a break from my normal Paranormal and/or mysteries. Actually, it came up on my BookBub daily deals. Kissing Kris Kringle is first by Erin Quinn, Naughty St. Nick is 2nd by Calista Fox, and #3 is Romancing Rudy Raindear by Mary Leo. I'd heard of Erin Quinn but hadn't yet read any of her books. I like her. Haven't/hadn't heard of Calista Fox nor Mary Leo. I'm enjoying St. Nick at the moment.

Back to my review. Erin Quinn got me involved with Kris from the get-go. Kris gets together with his two best friends and really ties one on. He wakes up from a crazy dream, with a puppy in his house; then things get weird, in his home town of North Pole, Maine - where everything is Christmas related. But in a very good way. The town has been in a major slump, but with the... dream's... help, and the yearnings for an unrequited love, well, you'll just have to read, enjoy, and sigh with the romance. :) And then Watch Hallmark channel's Christmas romances.

This story reminded me of a sexier version of The Santa Clause with Tim Allen. It was kind of neat too that all the characters in the book all had names that were associated with Christmas in some way like Rudy, Nick, Holly, Joy, Cupid, Vixen and of course Kris Kringle.

Kris lived in the town of North Pole, Maine and even though he isn't a scrooge he really doesn't like the holiday season. When he awakes one morning from a drunken night with a bag, a Santa suit and a puppy he doesn't know what to think. He can't leave his house and he keeps being swayed to the suit so he does the only think he can think of, he puts the suit on.

With some help Kris falls into the arms of the woman he's been lusting for years and opens his heart to the magic of Christmas.

This story is a short and sexy story to get anybody in the holiday mood. And for only $.99 how can you go wrong.

Loved it!!!! What a perfectly adorable little Christmas treat! I liked it from the beginning, but then on page 16, when the magic started - I fell in love with it! It was cute, cute, cute on every page! I think it takes a lot of writing talent to be able to write a short story or Novella and give it the same feel as a book of 350 pages. Erin does a wonderful job of setting the scene and developing characters in a very short time (105 pages). I did not feel that this was lacking in any way. There was one slightly graphic sex scene at the end but it wasn't too bad, I didn't have to close my eyes (but wouldn't recommend it for younger readers).
This was a Magical Realism Christmas Romance Novella. It was very sweet, exciting, and CUTE!

*3.5 Stars* Why am I always compelled to leave fractional ratings...?!

A cute holiday story. I had just read my first book by Erin Quinn and liked it so much I wanted to try another. This one didn't quite have the emotional punch Shaking It Up did, but it was still quite enjoyable. Even the corny Christmasy names were cute, it was as obvious as it was subtle. I like the author's style and hope to read more!

Great Short

This was a great little Christmas read about how a man who had lost the Christmas spirit gets it back one day when he has to start wearing a Santa suit and playing Santa. Kris Kringle is really frustrated when he has to coma bunch of Christmas thing. Holly who runs a little store has no self esteem any more in herself has to come to grips with the feelings she has for Kris. Will The Christmas spirit be recovered again in North Pole or will it become Nono existent? Will Kris and Holly finally let the other know how they feel about each other?

This was a short sweet little romance.
"Holy cow! She'd felt it from her ta-tas to her toes." This is a cute, quirky little holiday romance.
There were a few errors in the editing but in no way does it keep you from enjoying the story. Kris is one hot, wonderful man. If you're looking for a story to get you into the holiday spirit, then you need to grab this series.

A good holiday book. The bad boy of North Pole, Maine discovers what it is like to be put in the boots of Santa Clause literally. The story was a fun romance and a joyful story of new beginnings.
I loved all of the Christmas names and places. This story reminded me of my childhood in many ways. Erin Quinn never fails to touch the heart.

This was a great wee novella. The whole book is just one big Christmas theme - the town is called North Pole, Maine and the characters are a whole host of festive names. I loved it!

This book is a quick romance between Kris and Holly - both of whom have had liked each other from afar since childhood. It's a book that will have you wishing Christmas miracles come true.

Child abduction?
Alternating character point of view (which I personally dislike), at beginning of book, slows down understanding what the book is about.

I was so frustrated I read from back to front, which is too bad because it was a good mystery, and I ended up liking some of the characters.

Kissing Kris Kringle by Erin Quinn, the first in the Sexy Secret Santas series, was very good - a cute story, with a bit of magic, and well done within the short story framework. I did wish it was longer, but mainly because I liked the story and the characters.
