Rate this book
Julian and his three friends have found four others searching for their families, introducing an unknown key to their predicament. Was it by design? Their simple question, where are the people, sought a simple answer but shocking events tell another story. Shattering their illusions, brain-twisting, gut-wrenching and terrifying insights follow, making their wildest nightmares a preferred wish.
A memory from Julian’s past creates a shuddering ripple through the group wondering what this means for the future. This horrifying position propels the rads to close ranks, uniting each other’s hearts, minds, and spirits. An unbreakable bond between these friends may be their greatest weapon if they can keep it. There is power in numbers, but the daunting thoughts remain of whether that is enough to win this battle for survival and control of their destiny.
The Morac observe their charges, quizzical of their strange and emotional responses, but resolve their concerns with brave faith in their elite control, believing they are a mighty force. They are about to find out the rads are a force too; one they don’t see coming.

Jump by Colleen M Bratley is an exceptional young adult sci-fi novel that unfolds through thought-provoking conversations and immersive group dynamics. The book flawlessly merges interesting sci-fi concepts, such as energy flow, advanced extra-terrestrial life, superhuman powers, and different dimensions. The character depictions and the author's approach to world-building are the two major high points of the book. Each teen has a unique backstory and a compelling journey regarding their newfound skills, making their storyline captivating and engaging. Even the Morac elicit feelings of intrigue and curiosity as their role in the grander scheme of things gradually unfolds. This book is not your ordinary YA sci-fi novel, but it is guaranteed to impress (and surprise) you at the end.
