I've hesitated to write a review because I want it to reflect the careful thought and influential theology that is contained in this book. However, it deserves to be read by more people, and having a review up here might help it get more visibility! Perfection is the enemy of good, as Voltaire would say, so here is my imperfectly written review!

Rev. David Driedger is a particularly skilled thinker and we are lucky that he's put these thoughts down in writing. He's also a kind person with an eye open for those of us that have the least. The theology of "nothing" feels like an earth-shifting idea - it resonates strongly for me.

As a Winnipegger, and a fellow West Ender, I appreciate the hyper-local focus that some of his writing takes on - but that doesn't mean it wouldn't also be meaningful for those living elsewhere.

I feel particularly fortunate that I attend First Mennonite Church (where Rev. Driedger is Lead Minister) and I have worked alongside him on many church projects, as well as other "leftist" groups that are outside of the church. While some might think this would cloud my judgement, please know that I would never heap superlatives if I didn't believe it was any good. Rest assured that I do believe this is an excellent book about a complex topic.

My sincere hope is that this book gets picked up by theology professors for their class syllabi. I hope, too, that the general public will find and read it - there is a lot to think about here, and it is presented in a clear, precise and well-studied manner.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!! May this be the start of many more publications from Rev. Driedger.
