DNF…. These reviews must be from friends of the author or something. There isn’t enough detail as to why things are the way they are. Plus, he drugs and sales her to a slave ring because he ones to be the one picked as a NURSE? What?!

This got to be a tad over the top. There is lots of punishments. Many are for no reason and they get out of hand to me bordering on the ick factor. That took away from the story. The plot started out kinda strange and at times unrealistic. I know it’s fiction for a reason. Not a bad read but not great

This book was a hard swallow. As a BDSM community member, it's upsetting at the lack of after care in this book. The storyline is non existent. The whole thing had general phrasing. It references a War we know nothing about, other civilizations we learn nothing about, and soooo much confusing science talk. And buried within this is a beyond aggressive BDSM subject. The brutality in which this is told is unbelievable. There is no respect or care in the scenes. And absolutely NO AFTER CARE.

whoooo boy! so this was spicyyyy! We've got calla, a nurse in a post apocalyptic world with slavers, hybrids, monsters, a moving forest and wolf shifters. She's kidnapped with a few other girls and sold off by her asshole classmate to be a slave. She's claimed by her pack in exchange for helping the other girls get home.
While I loved the smut and the book was interesting, I felt that some of the brothers kind of melded together - they're all rough with her, super alpha and domineering. We've got Gideon, Jace, Caleb, Vance and Knox (+ another guy we learn about later - no spoilers), shifter brothers banking on impregnating Calla and saving their bloodline. They're all super disciplinarian with her and I liked Vance best and he's the only one to treat her with respect and care and goes slow / treats her as more or a person tbh.
I'm honestly only detracting a star for the guys kind of not having distinct personalities (it got confusing after a while as their tones are basically the same) and because at some parts I felt like Calla was a bit of a Mary Sue.... she's a talented nurse, gorgeous, fit, has a magical vine bracelet, gets prophesies, leads all the girls, sacrifices herself to 5 guys to save girls she barely knows and is basically superhuman and never upset about what's happening to her etc.

While this was a terrific book in many ways and extremely well written, richly detailed with a well thought out plot there were a few things that i didn't like. I'm sorry this is a long review but this book really got to me in some ways.
Calla is a nurse about to graduate when she is betrayed by a fellow student in their post apocalyptic world and sold to slavers with several other females. With some help from a forest that is alive they escape at the town they are to be sold in and end up back in "the tangle", the forest where a pack of 5 wolf brothers determine one by one that she is their mate after smelling her scent. While trying to survive the slavers she has had some dream like communion with an in between place where lost souls go and has been told she will heal with world by mating the wolf pack. She makes a deal with them that she will stay with them as their mate, if they help return the females to their village. She is a virgin and is given no choice in being their mate and they tell her they will use her, breed her and rut with her regardless of her wishes in order to have children. The problem I had was Gideon, Jace, Knox and Caleb the first 4 brothers to get her scent one by one are all too similar in personality and behaviour. All are rough with her esp as a virgin and use extreme discipline too often and in a more cruel manner than I believe would be pleasurable esp for a virgin. They don't show any regard for consent, they do not care about her feelings, autonomy, wants, or even health just disciplining her every night and using her roughly for their own pleasure not letting her get proper rest, heal from her lost virginity or even from the rough sex. They continue to take what they want over and over with no care for her beyond her safety, yet they believe she is supposed to save their pack. If u think someone is going to save your lives and give you a future would u not want to take care of that person and treat them with some kind of consideration? They also discipline her roughly when she keep secrets from them but they are strangers and from their behaviour she has no reason to trust any of them with secrets or info she doesn't even understand herself. so again she is treated like an object not a person who they call mate. How can u expect someone to trust u that treats u like nothing but a vessel to use at their whim? They don't try to get to know her or talk to her about anything important all they do is keep demanding sex, punishing her for no reason and emphasizing that she is nothing but a breeder to them. They do nothing to treat her like someone cherished who will heal them and give them a future which is stupid. And Calla is a feisty, strong, smart, intelligent woman with some kind of special connection to the living forest yet with the men becomes a total doormat allowing them to do whatever they want with no fight, no push back and just loves everything they do to her, the hurt, the cruelty, the forced prolonged sex daily? that is so unrealistic and unbelievable. There is too much discrepancy between being tough and strong and a doormat for this to make any sense. no woman that has fought to survive and save others would just allow herself to basically be abused and used like a rag doll by men who pretty much couldn't care less about her yet by the end are supposed to love her. Then you have Vance the last of the 5, someone who finally treats her like he cares about her, gently, lovingly, with tenderness and that treatment bonds them in how the sex with him becomes different then with the rest. There is a whole lot of danger, conflict, and more when they return the females to the village and get a huge surprise and captured. They all have to fight to live but once again it is Calla who is the catalyst to save everyone including a surprise soul. Yet she is still treated the same other than Vance yet at the end all are supposed to love her and her them. it would never happen. It is still about basically force yet she really wants it and them using her however they like. I saw nothing in this book from start to finish where their treatment of her changed or evolved to show their changing feelings and their supposed love for her by the end. If u truly believe this one woman is the mate for every brother and has healed u all and is going to save the world by having your children, then there has to be evolution in feelings and behaviour. adaptations to how u approach things and the speech used. In showing your mate that you put her desires, wants and needs before your own in order for her to be happy being your mate and making her want to stay with u and have your children. no one forced and all choice taken away is going to stay without trying to escape, or happily bear baby after baby after baby in rapid succession without breaking her spirit or becoming so bitter and hard inside that she makes a terrible mother and mate and everyone is miserable. There was too much focus on the dark spicy content with no change as the plot developed for me. As a strong personality myself, there is no way I would accept this kind of treatment and just can't believe anyone would who was supposed to be strong enough to heal the world. And there should have been bigger personality differences between the brothers with perhaps 2 of the 5 being more disciplinarian style but all should have shown some kind of tenderness and care for her by the end if they truly loved her, some drastic change between when first met and the end of the story but there wasn't. It was still the same thing, them using her as they wished with her magically loving everything. If the discipline had been less forceful and the story line had shown changes in how she was treated as time went by with care and consideration for her body and her feelings this would have been a 5 star story because all the other details plot and writing was A1 fantastic. It was a gripping and compelling story. But the terrible treatment of her all thru the story really ruined it for me. I wanted to gut all but Vance by the end and rescue her from them myself. Not to mention no virgin would even be able to physically stand up to the amt of rough sex daily from multiple partners, and lack of rest esp while trying to stay alive. Details in a story still have to be believable for the story to make sense.

I can’t even explain why I bothered finishing this book… like it’s giving AI generated the way nothing in this story made any sense and it just wasn’t good. The sex scenes lasted WAYYY too long, like consistently they were too long. The idea is interesting for sure but it was just executed so poorly it’s insane.

This book is full-on reverse harem shifter fantasy, and it does not hold back. If you are into fated mates, primal urges, and a heroine claimed by multiple dominant wolves, then you’re going to have a great time here.
The story throws the heroine into a wild, unfamiliar world where the rules are based on instinct, heat, and an intense need to claim. The men are everything you’d expect from alpha shifters—possessive, growly, completely obsessed with her—and there is more than one. Each has a distinct personality and approach, but all of them revolve around protecting, touching, and claiming her in ways that are pure fantasy.
The pacing moves quickly, but that works for the genre. There’s a real sense of urgency, especially with the mating heat setting everything on fire. The emotional beats are a little lighter, but that’s not the point. This is about physical chemistry, high-stakes bonding, and multiple men who are not interested in sharing the world but are absolutely willing to share her.
It is intense, primal, and very much a guilty pleasure read. If you’re in the mood for something hot, fast, and full of dominant energy from every direction, you will not be disappointed.

This book had me hooked right away. There was so much action I just couldn't put the book down. The steam is scorching HOT, that said there is also plenty of plot that keeps the story interesting.

This was an interesting story by Kelli Callahan. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next in the story. Calla is very close to becoming a nurse when she was taken from the world that she knows. She has been kidnapped and taken outside of the walls that have protected her. She isn't going to lay down and accept it though. She plans to escape and go back to her life along with the other women with her. The Tangle is a dangerous place. Vance, Gideon, Caleb, and Knox are wolf shifters that have been drawn to a scent. They know only the dangerous life in The Tangle and what happened before. Along the way, Calle discovers things about herself and her tie to the Aether. Will they be able to find happiness together?

This is one 🔥 🔥 🔥 book!
It has a unique and interesting concept and the possibility to make a really good series from the foundations put in place with this story.
This story follows Calla and her journey through The Tangle. It was great and had different layers to the story. I like Calla as she is feisty and independent and gets braver as the story goes on. I found the hierarchy of the pack interesting, along the concept of the Aether. I would love to know more about that in following books, if possible.
Boy, did this book get steamy. The pages practically sizzled. Spanking seemed to be a big theme for this story, and it was a touch OTT for me.
I liked the little twist and surprise at the end.

Loved this apocalyptic story! Very different from others I've read in this genre. Its definitely a RH, touch her and you 💀, spicy, a little stalking too, possessive a-holes, knotting (weirdly just with one) fated mates, mention of abuse and definitely SA to the FMC and fellow k!dnapped women so be warned ⚠️ if this is a trigger for you. These males are savages and insanely Hot 🔥 In all I absolutely loved it and would love to read more of these characters 'cause there was not much of an epilogue. Maybe a book 2 in the future ?! Would totally want it. Absolutely recommend this book!

The storyline is riveting, makes a girl want her own Pack. Blending g the Future with the moral ethos of Civilization's humanity or lack of. Only to bring it back around to love, family and community. I saw it as a movie in my mind. I cried and want more of this storyline.

This was a really good book. Calla and her men were wonderful together. I really enjoyed the connection and chemistry between each man and Calla and as a group. This book had drama, steam, tension, love, and a really good HEA.

This is a very steamy why choose, reverse harem, dark romance with drama, spankings, steam, and characters with intense chemistry. The author has created an amazing world filled with captivating and strong characters, and an interesting and steamy story that held my attention from the first page to the last. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I enjoy each character in this story from beginning to end. The city was designed as a mouse trap keeping everyone racing to get the cheese. The pack wanted revenge against those who harm them and receiving something they gave up on. Love and hope for a better future for the brothers.

meh. I didn't enjoy the writing style of this at all. About halfway through, I skipped all the sex scenes just to get through the story. While there was a twist to the villain in the story, it just seemed to be written as a cartoon villain. It was over the top and left me with a "🤷🏼♀️" feeling when the story was finally over.

Loved the spice in this, it was going in a great direction storyline and romance but then I feel like it just ends. Like it could be a second book if the writer wanted. I don’t know there are a lot of unanswered questions for me.

If you like fast burning stories. A lot of sexy time and a good story line. Read this book. Just disappointed we didn't get an ending update. Find out if Calla actually got pregnant. The ending was rushed.

It wasn’t bad, just a slow burn
This story is very slow to get to the point, a lot of repetitive & a lot of “punishment” other than that the story was not bad (wasn’t great either) but it was a quick read.

I Wish There Were More!

I really enjoy this author. The story, told from all POV, has some unexpected twists and turns while being spicy and action packed in the second half. I hope there is more books in this world. I don’t really classify this as a “dark” romance, though there is some violence.
