Luciano was such a disappointment. He liked Pre so much that he demanded and rearranged her life just to be a dog. How didn’t he know that was the bff? He did all this research yet had no idea! Pre deserves better and I hope she gets it. Melody and Valentino are my favorite couple from this book. Like she sees him and I mean really sees him. The ending really surprised me and now I’m mad; she turned her life upside down for nothing. I will be coming back for part two. 3.75/5

unhinged
Omg this book and the men in it is totally unhinged! This is a new to me author and she DID NOT disappoint! This is my first 5 star read of the year (I do not just hand out 5 star reads all Willy Nilly)! This book entertained me from the beginning to the end and when I say it is flipping hilarious! Taniece girl you got a new fan! Ok so boom, Pre is autistic and virgin and wants to get pregnant so she began her artificial insemination journey, turns out the doctor accidentally inseminated her with an underboss’s sperm. So the underboss, Luciano hunts her tail down and makes her sign a contract that says that she will have to give up her rights to the baby at 16, she reluctantly signs but Luciano’s Italian father wont settle for that he says that they have to married and produce the heir. Then we got Pre’s younger twin siblings in the mix. Rhythm and Melody. Rhythm has been messing around with Melody’s best friend on the low and Melody creeping around with Rhythm’s partner in crime, Valentino which also happens to be Luciano’s crazy younger brother that was just “released” from the asylum. This book is ride foir sure! Moving on to book 2!

I enjoyed this book—it was really good, and I appreciated the storylines of every character. At first, it started off slow and was a bit confusing to follow because we’re introduced to several characters at once. I encourage you to either read the book again after finishing it or pace yourself and pay close attention the first time through. Once you understand what’s going on and the plot begins to develop, the storyline becomes very engaging.

Wow! Its a whole lot going on in this read! Just the way I like it! I was beginning to like Luciano, however I don't like the fact that he's taking all of Preesha's choices away! He forced her into signing their kids right over to him when he turns 16 and forced her to move in with him and drugged and married her without even proposing! Brina turned out to be foul, not surprised there! I don't care what nobody says, I like Valentino! I like he holding that school hostage and making them pay for what they did to Melody! He's no worser than Luciano! I like Valentino better! He's not as controlling as Luciano! I feel bad for Preesha! Well, onto next installment!

Whew!!!!!
Lawdddd I wasn't prepared for this type drama. I like Steph. I love her relationship she have with all three of her children. She was one of the regular but realistic mother's I've read about in a long time. She would go to war behind Preesha, Melody and Rhythm but I know they was getting on her mfn nerves with the bs going on. I wouldn't have even known Preesha had ASD if it wasn't mentioned. She's such a sweetheart but feisty as hell. Own her own business, have her own house and car but also all about her mother as well as her younger twin brother and sister. Preesha wanted a baby without a relationship and she got that. However what she didn't expect was the man sperm who was injected to her. To show up at her door. Luciano French knew in order to take over the family business. His father wanted him to be married with a heir. The heir part he had figured out but he wanted no part's of a marriage. Thinking he was going to get his long time sneaky link Dreka to have his child. Didn't go the way he thought it was when he found out his sperm was accidentally given to someone else. Luciano was smitten with Preesha but what he purposed to her about the child she is pregnant with. Wasn't happening. I didn't like Preesha supposedly best friend Brina. For one she was too damn thirsty when Preesha told her she was pregnant and who the baby was by. Secondly coming to Preesha house after finding out her man had cheated on her and again after he whooped her ass. Brina started acting weird asf after Preesha was there for her and tried to help her. Highschool student and a track star. Melody was also a sweetheart alongside her best friend Dawn. Dawn and Melody were thicker than thieves when they whooped the two school bullies Christina and Nicole ass. It affected Melody and almost could've ruined the scholarships she's looking forward to. Dawn was hiding a secret from Melody though. I knew Dawn was going to end up pregnant. Her parents had a tight leash on her. The child couldn't do anything. Dawn sneaking around with Rhythm wasn't surprised. I figured that out easily. I don't know why either one of them felt the need to hide they were dealing with each other from Melody. Melody is like Preesha. Understanding and soft hearted but feisty too. Rhythm know that because Melody is his twin. It's crazy how he told Melody to stay away from Valentino. Valentino do have some mental issues and I wish Luciano and their parents actually looked at him and got him some real help because his blackouts are dangerous and murderous. Sticking him in a Asylum didn't help. Once he met Melody. It soften him because she saw him as a person. Especially after he told her the truth about what he did to his ex and Melody was still there. I had a feeling Melody hater Christina wasn't going to let that ass whooping go. What they did to her was heartbreaking. I knew when Valentino found out he was going to crash out. I don't like Lucia. I understand she the Matriarch of the French family but I don't like how she came for Preesha by forcing her to marry Luciano. The way this end proved why I didn't like Brina scandalous ass.

Things just got so messy
Now things just got real interesting because I didn’t see that ending coming. Now the situation with Pre and Brina I knew she was going to be a snake i saw it coming a mile away so I can’t wait for her to get her karma. Now I need Pre to make Luciano really sweat especially since he forced her into a situation she didn’t want to be in. Valentino is crazy as hell but he does not play at all about Mel cause baby he done shit the school down and my crazy behind is loving every minute of it lol.. I hope Rhythm and Dawn get their situation together as well now that he has realized how he feels about her.

This was an okay into to a serial about two sets of young adult/new adult siblings finding each other. Featuring Pre who gets accidentally inseminated with criminal underboss, Luciano’s sperm, and her younger sister, Melody, who seems to be the only one able to calm Luciano’s mentally ill brother, Valentino, this is an introduction to a criminal underworld series where the decisions are misguided, the stakes are high and the maturity level low.
While this kept me turning the pages to see where it would go, I struggled a little with it and with understanding some of the motivations of the some of the characters. The absolute lack of precautions taken and the subsequent unexplained ability to sweep very loud, very public crimes under the rug just didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t understand Luciano’s complete 180 about marrying Pre or how it came about that he colluded with his grandmother for a forced marriage without any of her family present even though he knew them. I didn’t understand how Pre had no questions or comments about the whole situation subsequently. I just feel like the character and plot development could have been stronger. While I didn’t dislike this per se, I don’t know that I’m invested enough to read book 2 right now.

I’m so irritated
I forgot this was a Taniece book. It should have clicked when I came across “Joker” but it didn’t register. Oh em geeee!!! I’m soooo p’d off! First off FBOMB Luciano!! I was back and forth on liking him because sometimes he did funny things that I was like “yeaaah handle that” but the storylines seemed to be more about Melody and Valentino than Pre and him. It’s lowkey all over the place! Whyyyyyyy would Brina do that to her!? Lucia is a bat case! and I don’t understand how she just kept doing stuff left and right and then Luciano just pops in like nothing happened…it doesn’t make sense!!! They wrong asf!!!!!! My heart goes out to Melody. I really hope her future isn’t ruined. But whatever Valentino does — I AM WITH HIM!!! He is the BEST character in this book!!! Second, is Melody and then her mama. I don’t really have much to say about Rhythm because he’s a hypocrite. I don’t like Dawn either. I’m not about to go through this with Part 2,3,4,5 bc this author will drag stuff out for no reason. Godspeed if yall wanna read it but I don’t like unnecessary chaos broken up into parts.

When I say I’ve been glued to this book all day, I mean ALL day — no breaks, no distractions, just me and these pages❕❕❕ This story is wild in the best way. The drama? Top tier. The characters? A mess — and I love it.
Now let me be clear: I do not like Lucia (the grandma can go), and I’m big mad about what Luciano pulled toward the end. But if I’m being real? Valentino and Melody stole the whole show for me. That man is certifiably obsessed with her — cookuu for Cocoa Puffs, and I’m absolutely here for it.

There were some questionable parts like Luciano throwing a book at Dreka's forehead. Then he threw his keyboard at her? That violence was concerning😓. Then Valentino reveals to Melody that he accidentally killed his ex🫣. And then Luciano kidnapped Pre and forced her to marry him despite her being headstrong...I realised she barely put up a fight against Luciano. I felt like that contradicted her fiery personality.
These MMC aren't just unhinged they are mentally unstable and not wrapped too tight😅. When Luciano drove that truck into Pre's living room- I would've called the police immediately. But clearly she liked that 😒she likes a crash out😈.
But the story flowed. The characters were interesting and I'm deeply invested😅. I wonder what will happen with Dawn...and the cliffhangers at the end were crazy. Valentino in that school? He needs to go back to a mental facility. He should not have been let out 🤦🏾♀️pure chaos. Onto book 2 I go lol🤸🏾♀️🤸🏾♀️🤸🏾♀️

What a fun ride
I was unsure of what to expect getting into this book. Taniece packs a lot in this book and it doesn't feel like it. There are multiple characters having plot lines and at no point was it confusing or overwhelming. There is a clear understanding of who each character is, what is happening with them, and what their character trajectory is.
Luciano and Pre are an adorable pair. They are so well-rounded. I loved the autism representation as well as the slight OCD representation. I found their love story winding but I love a good slow burn. The subplot featuring Rhythm, Melody, Dawn, and Valentino kind of balanced out the book because of their youth and the angst in their story. This is a wonderful start to this series and I can't wait for the next book.

Wow! A Page-Turner
There is so much to unpack in this 1st installment. Luciano and his entire family (excluding his momma, for the moment) are all “touched”. Rhythm and Melody both messed up, but need to both talk, apologize and move on. They’re family at the end of the day. I can’t believe Brian betrayed her BFF like that!!! What the heck??? Luciano is truly on a self sabotaging journey. He may have messed up and lost a good woman in Pre. Valentino, wow! How he goes to war for the girl he loves, no matter who it is… I loved this book, onto the next installment. Thank you Taneice for this amazing book.
There is so much to unpack in this 1st installment. Luciano and his entire family (excluding his momma, for the moment) are all “touched”. Rhythm and Melody both messed up, but need to both talk, apologize and move on. They’re family at the end of the day. I can’t believe Brian betrayed her BFF like that!!! What the heck??? Luciano is truly on a self sabotaging journey. He may have messed up and lost a good woman in Pre. Valentino, wow! How he goes to war for the girl he loves, no matter who it is… I loved this book, onto the next installment. Thank you Taneice for this amazing book.

Ryah and Melody are Pre’s twin siblings and Dawn is melody’s bff. \Valentino French is Luciano’s brother and baby he has a few issues that somehow are going to catch up with him when he falls in love with Melody! This ride is bumpy!!! But I love it!

DNF Story line is juvenile..
This story is for children. It lacks logic like so much of what happen could’ve been avoided to the point that it was stupid. Understand building the plot, and of course, as a reader, knowing what the characters themselves do not know, but the way that Pre would not tell Luciano information and the way that Luciano was so entitled. It was not like a dark Romance kind of vibe. It just really came across as narcissism and control laced in stupidity with no development of character. This is not a read for me.

June 29, 2025I don’t know how to rate this book so I’m not. It had a lot of potential but it lacked direction. All these scenes throughout did not fully tell the story. Details are important when telling a story. The title definitely didn’t match b/c very little involved the pregnancy. I was intrigued because the author mentions that the MFC has autism but that wasn’t addressed much in the book either. I had high expectations for this book. I’m reading part 2 but I’m don’t think my feelings will change.

The only thing I really disliked were how each chapter kept abruptly ending. Then the next chapter would be someone else in a different situation. I feel like so much more could’ve happened in those chapters. Like when rhythm finally caught his sister and tino, he could’ve snapped on her and told her about herself: because she was being secretive too, instead it just ends. It was like a never ending cliffhanger…

Hard book to put down 😍
I must say, I am thoroughly enjoying this book. The depiction of the French family, the Edwards family, and their friend Dawn is truly captivating. The author has crafted these characters with remarkable skill. The narrative is exceptionally well-written, and the story unfolds with a seamless flow. There is not a dull moment to be found, as the story consistently encourages you to continue reading. Wonderful book Taniece 🥰.

It's too much going on....
Poor Pre, I knew her friend was no good, especially whenever Luciano would meet with the trench coat woman they never mentioned her name which I thought was weird. Luci is trash, how you make all these demands then be outside slanging 🍆. Where is Dawn?! I actually like Valentino and Melody he be riding for her and vice versa more so than Luci be riding for Pre🙄.

Listen Mrs. Taniece, I have questions that I need answers to! I enjoyed this story so much. Pre don’t know what she got herself into and Luci is feeling more than he wanted and this is just book 1. I’m gonna say this now, I don’t like the daddy or his grandmother already. Hand over Part 2 because I need it.

Honestly, I didn’t know how to feel about this book. I only finished it cause I was nosey and it had just enough scenes to pique my interest enough to see what was next. I wanted to just give up reading at heart 4 different times. I’m going to try to get thru 30 percent of the next book to see if I want to continue reading.

Taniece does it again!!
Mz maam! When is book 2 coming out? I already need the next part. This wasn’t your ordinary surrogate and boss story, that is definitely for sure. I just need to see happy endings in the next installment. Oh and I loved how you mentioned Joker and his family. Love reading about my favorite characters in other books lol.
