Mystic Hollows looks like an enchanting small town, but under the surface, things are much darker. Once divided, the witches of Mystic Hollows have come together to form a new coven. But old habits are hard to break, and curses even harder.
Fate has done Piper Beaumont wrong. Not only does she suffer from the Briar Witch’s curse, but a second hex that forces her to obey any command she’s given. Her whole life she’s been taught to stay quiet and do as she’s told. One night she’s pushed too far. Desperate to break free from the uncle who controls her hex, she uncovers an unlikely path to freedom.
Marrying Ambrose Roth.
Ambrose Roth has cultivated the persona of laid-back party guy, but it’s a shiny cover that hides his damage. When Piper shows up on his doorstep asking him to marry her, he says yes. Who doesn’t love a new adventure? There’s just one tiny twist. Marriage to Piper means her hex now belongs to him. He can command her to do anything he wants.
The newlyweds must navigate their unexpected bond while participating in a series of trials set by the town's coven. As they compete for a council seat, they also work to undo Piper's hex. Thrown together in this marriage of convenience, it should be easy to keep things simple. And yet, they can’t help but fall for each other.
In a town where magic is real and curses come by the dozen, can Piper and Ambrose break free from their family's legacies? Will they find that some bonds are stronger than magic?
Magic and Matrimony is the third book in the Witches of Mystic Hollows series. It can be read as a standalone but suggested reading order is to start with book one for maximum enjoyment!
loved this book. again, love this whole series. love ambrose and his personality. piper is super cool. now we need odie and stellan! that ending was interesting regarding them
How about an impulsive guy and a girl in need? He says yes to marriage...and then can't imagine not being married to her. That was Ambrose for you. My guy was done for the moment he opened the door that night, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't change a thing. Seeing them help fight each other's demons, stand up for each other, and find their feelings growing together was so good. Ambrose was heat and fire in the spicy department, and that's exactly what I think Piper needed to open up, too, and be herself.
Piper had such a tragic and sad past. It was painful to see her suffer through it in the other two books, and the way she outsmarted her jailor and took control of her life was remarkable. I loved that aspect of the book, how she not only falls in love with Ambrose, but also learns to love herself and her magic. She understands her worth and sees that she deserves more than surviving. I especially loved how she dealt with the 'spoiler redacted' after it went down with 'spoiler redacted'. She was standing up for herself, and I could not have been prouder.
Lizzy, you have a fan for life, thank you a thousand times for this e-arc!
Quotes:
Ambrose Roth is beautiful. He reminds me of the sun.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss each other like no one's watching."
There's something about Piper that should put me off. She's quiet, too polite, too calm. I'm her opposite, too social, too loud, and easily excitable. Instead of being annoyed by her, I'm drawn to her.
"You can touch me anywhere. Do anything you want."
Everything about Piper calls to me. My own personal siren.
No more protests escape her lips as I eat her pussy until she's writhing on my face and crying out my name.
I stare down at this woman, my wife, and something clicks together inside me.
"One more, Piper." My pace grows frantic. I'm desperate to make her come with me and I'm already too fucking close.
She's Piper Roth. Damn, I should not like that so much.
We're in a room full of people, and are in the thick of serious coven business, but right now, I can't think of anything else but Ambrose's lips. The way they sucked a mark on my neck, the large hands that held me.
She melts into me, and I'll admit, I'm not sure anything has ever felt so good.
"I said I wouldn't fuck you or anyone else for three months. There are other things we can do, Piper."
We lace our fingers together and rest them on his chest as we drift to sleep.
I've never wanted to kiss someone as badly as I want to kiss Piper.
"I'm yours, Piper. What are you going to do with me? I think it's time you got to tell me what to do."
"I love you, Piper Roth, and I'm never letting you go."
"Fated in the stars. I guess Mabel knew what she was talking about in that wedding chapel."
If you’re into fated mates, clever twists, emotional depth, and a romance that feels earned—this is the book to read.
Magic and Matrimony was everything I wanted and more! I’ve been absolutely hooked on this series from the start, but Piper and Ambrose’s story? Pure magic. From the very first page, I was drawn in by Piper’s quiet strength and Ambrose’s charming warmth. Their chemistry was electric, and the marriage of convenience trope was done so well—layered with emotional depth, witty banter, and the kind of slow-burn tension that has you grinning and swooning all at once.
What I especially loved was how perfectly they balanced each other. Piper, with all her guarded vulnerability, finally found someone who saw her. And Ambrose—beneath that golden boy exterior—was so much more than I expected. Their dynamic was beautiful, healing, and oh-so-steamy in the best way.
The plot delivered big-time, too. Real answers about the curses, more puzzle pieces falling into place, and an ending that left me gasping. This installment felt like such a satisfying turning point, while still making me desperate for what’s next.
The entire series is an absolute gem—full of heart, heat, magic, and mystery. Each book builds beautifully on the last, and the character connections are so rewarding. I can’t recommend reading them all highly enough!

I have to admit that this story is the one I’ve been most looking forward to since starting this series! The way Lizzy has teased Piper’s curse has had me on pins and needles to figure out what was going on, and she delivered in a huge way! I loved loved loved the dynamic between these two characters. I feel like Piper needed the lightheartedness of Ambrose to bring some joy into her very depressing situation. And Ambrose needed Piper’s loyalty and kindness. She saw past his superficial smiles, to the man hurting underneath. These two really were perfectly matched! I loved the marriage of convenience and forced proximity, as well. The banter was on point, and the spice was just fantastic! I loved the progression of the overall story of this series, as well. We get a few more answers, and the bigger picture is starting to get clearer on the curses. I definitely recommend this series!
I was lucky enough to read this book as a beta read before release. I loved the previous book and Ava and Bram’s story, but I confess I was not expecting to enjoy Piper as much as Ava for the FMC. Piper is quite a wallflower in the earlier books, but I can see how they were setting the scene for this story. In fact, I think I liked Piper - and this book - more than Ava and book 2! Such an easy and fun read and the ‘favour’ Piper requested had me intrigued from the very first chapter. It read like the reader is in the inner sanctum witnessing Piper and Ambrose’s story unfurl and knowing the ending before they did, so getting to enjoy them realise the truth was fun!
I have to say the graveyard scene was my favourite and had me chuckling aloud on my train to work!

Thanks to Lizzy for the arc! Love this series loved this couple! I was so excited for their book all through series so glad we finally got them! They were super sweet from beginning too! Who knew what an amazing hubby Ambrose would be? They're my fave couple of series with Roman & Josephine.
✔️dual pov ✔️marriage of connivence ✔️spice ✔️he falls first ✔️MY WIFE ✔️devoted hubby from day 1 ✔️curses and witches
Another nightmare toxic family situation poor Piper!! What happened towards end the way he reacted made no sense when it was so obvious that wasn't happening so that was annoying but I liked how they didn't deny their feelings much throughout their marriage and time as roomies.
The third book in the series and every bit as wonderful as the last.
Piper & Ambrose relationship was complicated long before she showed up on his doorstep one night, in the pouring rain, desperately asking him to marry her.
Neither could've imagined what lay in store for them & the community they love.
So much drama, references to past abuse, and just enough angst to fire your blood, makes the payoff all the sweeter.
Rarely do we get to see a villain get what they truly deserve, but the author delivered it beautifully here.
Excited for the next foray into the world of the Witches of Mystic Hollow.
I love this series and I was waiting for Ambrose and Piper's story. I loved how Ambrose was all in the marriage thing from the start without questions asked. Piper was brave and she fought for her freedom and to take her life back after years and years of mental and physical abuse. I loved the book and the whole world of Mystic Hollow and I can't wait for the next one, especially after that kind of ending.
I was looking forward to reading this book because I was dying to know what Piper's curse was. I felt so bad for Piper once her curse(s) was revealed but not only her curse but Ambroses curse to. Seeing how Piper went to Ambrose who was known as the playboy when she was the shy one I knew their story was going to be good. As always Lizzy's books don't disappoint and I'm looking forward to her next one!
I really like Piper and Ambrose in this book. These two have some very interesting curses. Fortunately Piper also has an interesting way to get around her hex so that her uncle will not be able to control her anymore. They are also looking for new council members and Piper, Ambrose, and some of their friends have been selected for the trials. Piper‘s uncle and some of the other people in this book definitely get what they deserve at the end. I will definitely read the next book in this series.
What's wrong with the guardians and parents in Mystic Hollows?
Piper Beaumont had the worst life growing up because of her father and when he died, her uncle took over! The torture and manipulation were at the highest peak. Enter Ambrose Roth and his sweet, sweet heart.
When she finds the strength and opportunity to ask for his help, he is there for her and even more...
They are so good and H O T together. Unexpected, you say. And you are correct ! Our sweet, quiet Piper was never allowed to show her resilience and lovely personality. She just needed her fated to unleash her charisma.
And here we are having the third couple in this wonderful circle of frenemies! I love that they keep finding their fated mates in each other.
The ending was shocking and just makes you crave for more! Oh, the 4th book is gonna be glorious!
Ok. What a fantastic book #3 is done now. We know what Piper and Ambroses' curses are now and the fact that Piper has extra baggage as in a hex from her father. Man, what a family. Where is child services when you need them? Great book a fantastic series. Lizzy Prince is an awesome author! I look forward to her future books with much anticipation.
I flew through this one. The fake marriage to break Pipers curse was a fun angle. There was no angst though, these two were all in. Council trials were fun and it’s always satisfying seeing the nasty old council members finally get their dues. Pipers uncle is an awful, horrific man.
I love all her books. I can’t believe I finished this whole series in less than two days. I desperately need the next book. What kind of cliffhanger was that?
I think this one might be my new favourite in the series. I loved the story in this one, or really, I suppose I just say multiple stories? Or secondary storyline? Either way, I really enjoyed that aspect. I love how it left us wanting the next instalment as well, which I now can’t wait for. Happy reading!
