He warns Cash not to activate his demons, but she doesn’t take heed. Find out what happens when two Savages cross paths.
This was just okay to me, something about a 40 year old and a 27 year old freaking just don’t hit to me. The FMC was a Boss had a boss job persona ect and folded in 2.5 flat for a man in jail??? Lmaoo like ohh it’s getting spooky the unprotected jailhouse sex was something 🤢🤢. Overall the FMC just didn’t move like the boss we were introduced too and lost more than she gained messing with him. Like she’s disbarred and doing the mom thing nothing else. I think it lacked depth and we could’ve and should’ve ended it with her disappearing and him just longing for her. Like sis lost her job, reputation RUINEDDD income slashed oh this a cautionary tale lmaoo
A quick and hilarious read. Kairo was a savage FR! That man didn’t care about nothing but his lady! He was a YN for sure. Cashmere let that young man break her down with a swiftness! They were toxic but cute when they got it together!
Ok so this was short and sweet and gave me all the feels I don’t blame Cash for falling prey to Kairo because hunny none of us would have stood a chance… He may still be crazy but that’s ok we love him anyway and he has matured. I love a short book that gives me everything all at once and I can’t wait for more
Great reading with good raunchy sex! Short story that you don't want to put down until its completely! Definitely looking to read more from this author
As a frequent reader (even before social media), I sometimes forget to properly review my reads on the platform. However, I HAD to come show this book the proper appreciation.
This was an anticipated read for me based on the marketing by the author. Firstly, shoutout to her for that work…
Once it was live, I purchased my ebook!
Then I saw the page count🤨
Now, I’m not a page count snob but I thought to myself that there is no way the excitement for the story I THOUGHT I was getting could be achieved in this number of pages.
I was worried it would feel rushed or incomplete, but I never felt that.
This was so WELL written that every moment felt calculated and passionate.
IMO, every moment felt like it belonged; it was not just thrown in to account for necessary information.
Granted, you want more because you love the couple and didn’t want it to end.
However, there was a solid (and enjoyable) conclusion to their story.
Last sentence of Chapter 9 required me to step away for several minutes….But it pushed through😏🤣
It was more than I even anticipated!
The book was AMAZING!
Please keep in mind, the story has substance but is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵🥵 at times.
Several of my favorite tropes but to keep surprise factor, main one that was introduced early: older FMC to younger MMC.
Also, a couple of situations may seem “unrealistic” but not only do they match the story. Remember that it is indeed a STORY- let’s enjoy the beauty of imagination and delusion 😇🤣
Listen. When I say this was a quick read but did NOT play about the vibes?? I mean that.
Twelve chapters of pure romance, spice, and just enough danger to keep you locked in from page one. Cashmere Savage (yes, that last name fits ) is an attorney hired to represent Kairo Carter on a double murder charge. And baby… when she gets him off? That’s only the beginning.
What I loved most is how D. Scott packed so much into such a compact story. The tension? There. The chemistry? Off the charts. The storyline? Tight, intentional, and attention-grabbing. No filler. No dragging. Just straight to the good stuff.
The dynamic between Cashmere and Kairo had that “this might be a bad idea but I’m leaning in anyway” energy, and I was right there with them the whole time. The spice definitely delivered, but it didn’t overpower the plot it enhanced it.
If you’re looking for something quick, spicy, and addictive, this is it. Five stars from me without hesitation.
I got to chapter five before I DNF’d and I want to preface by saying that I think the author is a fantastic writer. That being said, the male interest in this book is insufferable. He is pretentious, gross, and gave me rapey vibes. (spoilers) There were lines like “she just needs to give in” and moments that completely cross the line of consent. Now the actual story itself is annoying. The FMC is supposed to be successful, hard working, girl boss, and yet she throws all that away for a quick screw with a longtime criminal who's almost 20 years younger than her? Makes no sense and really feels like the author was trying to “humble” the women in this book. Especially with what Kairo did to the female officer. Also, the author makes it like Kairo being rude, pretentious, and a “hothead” killer is supposed to be attractive. ITS NOT. Especially for a woman like Cash. My final grievance with this book is the overuse of the word nigga!!! I counted. And again, I only made it to chapter five (these are really short chapters) and the word was used AT LEAST 14 times. NOT for me.
I enjoyed this short story, they are the definition of toxic. It was really fun and the spice was so good.
But I hated Kairo’s temper, it honestly irritated the fuck out me. Now I love a man with a temper in books, but his was driving me up a wall.
This man literally cost her, her job because a man made her laugh at her business meeting. Now granted she was playing with fire by messing around with a client but they were doling good keeping it under wraps and here he ruining it. Now she can’t do what she love because of his temper and I hate that she just got over it in the end.

This was my first time reading this author, and I was hooked from start to finish! It was a fast-paced read with rich detail and amazingly well-developed characters. There were no loose ends—everything wrapped up perfectly. I really appreciated that the characters needed time apart for personal growth, especially for him to mature and let go of that hotheaded attitude.
Once Kario made up his mind, he did not waste any time making Veah his—and I loved that energy! The spice scenes were definitely on point, earning a solid 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.
If you love a well-balanced romance with heat, growth, and strong characters, this one’s a must-read!
From the start Kairo is busting heads and when Cashmere steps into his life she is the peace in the storm that is him, until it concerns her!! Cashmere Savage is a savage in her own right as a defense attorney, who is greatly sought after!! She is contracted to take Kairo case as a favor to a friend and fellow college class mate. Kairo takes Cash on a passionate ride all the while, defending him in court and keeping their involvement a secret UNTIL!! You got to read it u will not be disappointed!! Five Stars D. Scott!!🥰
I came across this book on TikTok and it did not disappoint. It was good from the beginning to the end. Cashmere Savage had a 98 percent acquittal rate, and put it all on the line for Kairo Carter. Kairo wanted the white picket fence life with Cash no matter the cost. Did I wish he considered her career? Yes. I know he warned Cash not to activate his demons, but come on now lol. Was I disappointed when she let the other lawyer catch her slipping? Yes. When Kairo stated, “I had matured a lot since she left me because she left me.” Chileeeeeeeee I was like yessssssss leave these ninjas lol. A good read and a beautiful ending.
This may have been a novella but babbyyyyyyyyyyyy D Scott you got said sis and straight to the point this book gave me butterflies how he felt about her in such a short time. To run into her after 3 years and could spot her from a distance definitely made them soul mates even though he was a crash out behind his Cash y’all need to read this it’s short and sweet but to the point that you need more.
When I tell you that last sentence in chapter 9 had me sitting here with my mouth open!!!! That last sentence had me sitting here with my mouth open!! I had to go back and reread because I knew that my eyes were playing tricks on me, cause why would she say that?????
I love me a cute little quick read that doesn’t feel rushed. Their story was cute and the spice was just right. Now to find me a Kairo!!! I love a good crash out especially about their woman and who really stands on business.
This was a good quick read, the Mmc would crash out behind the fmc; as he should. I was happy the fmc was her own person was successful in a male dominated field and held her own. This book was ultimately about the power that Love plays in forgiveness. The author gave a slight background story to get the lesson out and of course it ended with a hea. Which always happens in bookland.
Here I am asking why he didn’t understand the implications of his actions and that 3rd act 🤯🤯🤯 Cash was really that one with her record though. Kairo was definitely a hothead and it took that L for him to get it together. SMH A short story with no cheating and their own HEA. side note ol’ girl at the end was WILD right? Called Cash a cougar and everything 🙄 Crying 40 days and 40 nights 😂😂😂😂
There was a lot of action for just 70 something pages.
Was the story realistic? Definitely not. Because why would she even play with her career that badly. And also, unsafe sex in jail is wild.
Was the story interesting? Yes
Kairo was way too much of a crashout. And that led to a MAJOR loss for Cash. I was glad she reacted the way she did because he really took it too far. Her secret was wild though.
This was straight to the point and I was here for it. I loved how Cash fell for Kairo even though she was trying to stay professional. But who can resist an unhinged certified crash out named Kairo. That man was giving BDE mixed with possessive unhinged behavior. I recommend this quick read, you will not disappoint.
Kairo meets his future through his current attorney as he waits to get acquitted of murder. Cashmere Savage is an attorney currently getting a divorce when she gets a call from a colleague to assist in a case. They have an instant attraction, but Kairo's hot-headed temper proves to be the end of them, or is it?
Kairo & Cashmere… from opposite sides of the track but that doesn’t matter b/c the connection was there and strong from that initial meeting! Kairo was a certified crash out & although he tried for Cash sometimes things still happen & distance becomes inevitable. However, when it’s mean to be, it’s meant to be. I wanted more… this was short and GOOD!
The novel was rushed. There was good character development, but it took away from the plot. She broke down the issues of the mfc, showing her going though a divorce, and her as a very successful lawyer. She also went slighty into the background of her ex while dealing with their hair divorce. But the relationship of her and the mmc could have been more developed.
Attorney Cashmere Savage + her client Kairo Carter. She’s trying to win his case & he’s trying to win her. They have an undeniable attraction and instant chemistry. Though their story is short, it has its fill of mess & drama, with a punch of angst & the nastiest of spice!
I love how fast paced the story was, but still felt complete!! I do want an update on Cash & Ro tho!! Like how does everything work out with what we find out at the ending & all of that. Such a good quick read!!
I liked that we know how their ending happened but everything else we don’t. What happened with the divorce? What about the 6 months they dated before ish hit the fan? Or her moving to Kentucky and her struggles for 3 years.
Quick read. Was entertaining if a bit out there. Lawyer messing with her client at the jail was wild. Kairo was true to his nickname, Hothead. Dude had no chill which led to the separation between him and Cashmere.
