Noah had always struggled in school, but due to his parent's perfect façade, he never got the help he needed. Resorting to self-harm to calm the chaos in his brain, the scars on his arms are a constant reminder of his inner demons. When he meets Marcus, nothing but hope fills his life. Marcus is gentle, understanding, and patient. He sees Noah's potential and wants nothing more than to be the Daddy this Middle needs. Marcus not only witnesses Noah's impulsive behavior and the way his mind races from one thought to another, but he also sees Noah's creativity, passion, and unique perspective on life.
When Marcus finds out about Noah's struggles with self-harm, will it be too much for him to handle?
Noah fears that his intense emotions and struggles might scare Marcus away. Or will Marcus help him find healthy coping mechanisms?
Join Noah and Marcus as they embark on their journey of happily ever after.
**This book is an M/M age play romance with sexual content between consenting adult main characters.**
*NO SPOILERS* LOVED! I was lucky to have been given an advanced copy of In the Middle of No(ah)where. For a person that exclusively reads on my phone or kindle- having to read this as a physical book was worth turning pages and having to have a light on!
I really enjoyed My Little Barista and was excited to see how Noah and Marcus' story played out. This book is definitely a little heavier and a slower burn than Caleb's story but worth the wait. I enjoyed the backstory of both Noah and Marcus and as much as I love an "Insta-love" situation, this felt more organic.
There was a bit of a "time jump" so to speak, (a few years) but the story does bring you to the point of Caleb's story (Zoo meetup) and further on. I typically do not like when large periods of time pass, like years (even months!) but it made sense in this story and didn't take away any of the sweetness of the story.
This book was truly a delight to read. It has heart, spice and a health dose of hope that sometimes things work out.
I hope there are several more books in this series and really praise Brooklyn Jai. I am so grateful and honored I was able to read this book.
This is Noah’s story. If you haven’t read the first book, My Little Barista, you should. That is when we first meet Noah. But here we are with his own personal story and how life has been hard mentally for him. Remember to read the Trigger Warnings. Noah eventually learns some coping mechanisms and even gets himself a job. He decides to go to the LGBTQ+ center for one of their events. He realizes he’s a Middle, after talking to one of the Monitors there, instead of a Little. When everything becomes overwhelming for Noah he goes to a quiet place with his mind going a mile a minute. A hand touches his shoulder and instantly he begins to settle. When he looks up he sees the most gorgeous man, Marcus. They instantly connect. Two years later Noah and Marcus meet again and this time they start dating. Marcus doesn’t judge Noah or condemn him. He gives him a safe space and that means more than anything for both of them. This book was well written and deserves 100 stars ⭐️ but since we can only give 5 stars ⭐️ that’s what I rate it. Lovely, thoughtful, insightful, beautiful. That is this book 💜
This one got me. How the author understood and explained the voices in our heads and how they make us feel had me feeling seen. While I dealt with it differently the pain and feelings of less than and alienated are something hard to explain. Thank you for writing this.
