Sophie Morley had a plan. She always had a plan. There were no half-measures, no time to waste. There was now and there was a pathway to take that led to her forever. Her forever career, her forever love. This is how she existed. This is a story of how that existence turned into loving, turned into living. This is the story of how one woman finds everything and the devastation that comes when everything is lost.

Sophie has loved before, but she knew none of them were her forever guy. But when she meets Peter she suddenly finds herself being forced to feel, to live. Together she is happy but these two just don’t fall in love. They connect. They breathe each other, they become an obsession to one another.

Screenshot_8

Sophie’s story is told through a flash back of her life, the life just before Peter enters, being loved and then becoming lost. As this story unfolds you have a feeling that there is a huge secret that is being kept. You know it’s coming. You think you have an idea as to what it will be, but you have no clue. The reality is nothing like you imagined. There is no bracing yourself for the pure devastation, a destruction that is absolutely beautiful in such a tragic way. There is no cure for this kind of hurt but there is joy tangled in the desperation.

Screenshot_11

Peter has a way about him. He gives Sophie’s life a heartbeat, a pulse. He breaks through her walls and exposes the woman that has been buried beneath her drive to be perfect, stable. He strips her of every insecurity and takes every part of her that she wasn’t willing to hand over.

This might not be a typical love story. But make no mistake, this was a love story. From start to finish. This was a story that made your heart soar and break.

Screenshot_6

There are a few things I have come to expect from a book written by Sarah Ann Walker. I know that I am going to get a complex story. I know that I am going to get drawn in by the character’s voice and that her voice is just as important as any plot point the author is going to hit. That voice, the mannerisms... it is all part of the story, that voice is a character in the story. I also know that I am going to be shocked, brought to my knees and maybe, just maybe, if I’m lucky the author will piece me back together after she shatters me. But beyond all of that. I know I will feel. Everything. I don’t require hearts and flowers in my romance. I just need feeling. And this book, it was all feels.

Screenshot_9

I cried. Not just after putting this down. I cried throughout this book. I cried at sentences that consisted of few words, but that captured the emotion of the moment perfectly. I cried as truths were told and struggles were fought and lost. And then finally I turned that final page and I cried for every word that was written in this story, for Sophie and for Peter. And as I write this review, thinking back to the story, I am crying again.

Screenshot_10

I have read the prior books from this author, I knew to expect an emotional story. I knew that I was going to find complex characters that were going to draw me in, but still – there was no bracing myself for this book. I thought I was prepared. I was wrong. And although this book found a new way to break my heart, in a way that no other story has ever done before – I loved every second of it. I cherished this story, the happy times, of falling in love. And I became just as lost as Peter & Sophie did. There is no escaping the emotions of this story. I loved how this story evoked emotions, I didn’t simply read it. I felt it.

I am not just going to suffer from a book hangover now that I finished this story, this is a story that will stay with me. It has latched on and I think that Sophie and Peter stole a piece of my heart.

Screenshot_7d

I cannot say it enough. Sarah Ann Walker is absolutely brilliant when it comes to her ability to create the most unexpected story. Her characters have such a unique voice and her stories do not have fluff that just pushes a story forward, it has purpose. The details all matter. The annoyances all have a place in the story, meaning in the bigger picture. If you have not yet discovered this author you are missing out. These are not books that give you instant revelations or resolutions – these are books that require you to give yourself over and to place your faith in the author that she will lead you where you need to go. The story will be told at the pace it needs to be told. Patience is a must.

This book started off intense and I was so damn excited.

Well....... DNF @ 40%

I am in the minority on this one. So many great reviews and a fave author of mine but this one is not working for me.

Sophie...I can't handle the weakness you portray. I hate whininess and that is all I read from you.

Peter...first your creepy, then your are cool and then you are I don't even know. UGH!!

I will just break up with you right now.

Another brilliant book by Sarah Ann Walker. She has the ability to create such intricately woven stories that pack a gigantic and completely unique punch that leaves you with your jaw on the floor. Lost is Sophie's story. Sophie has her life figured out. She's the perfect daughter, has her sights on the perfect forever career and refuses to settle for a relationship that is anything less than her perfect idea of forever. Then she meets him. He shakes Sophie's perfect little world up and shows her how to love and how to be loved. Lost is emotional. It's beautiful. It's unexpected. There is humor, love, lust, anger, suspense, and, true to Sarah Ann Walker fashion, there's the "I didn't see that coming" aspect that makes it incredible.

Perfect love photo: perfect a.jpg

Sophie Morley is a young woman in total control of her life. She is ambitious and always follows her master plan so that there are no surprises, nothing to catch her off guard. But then she meets Peter Connor. He is unlike anyone she has ever met. He's sweet and charming. But he's also bold and assertive and poses a real challenge for Sophie. Suddenly, her life becomes chaotic as she realizes that she is quickly falling in love with him. He is her forever love. Unfortunately, circumstances threaten their relationship, shattering Sophie's perfect life in the process.

I absolutely love Walker's writing style. With her rich, figurative language, I was pulled right into the story. Her words tugged at my emotions. I could feel what Sophie was feeling as her life reached its high and low points.

Yet, I had such mixed feelings about the story itself. On one hand, I loved it. I loved how it captivated my attention. I loved how it kept me guessing and wanting to find out what would happen next. On the other hand, I disliked certain new developments within the story and the way Peter behaved at certain times (though his actions are explained toward the end of the book and everything makes perfect sense).

The story is endearing but tragic. I found it both brilliant and frustrating at the same time. I should have known, from reading a couple of the author's other books, that I would have to brace myself for some shocking twists.

There were certain parts that I thought were a bit repetitive, though I think it was the author's way of strengthening key points that I thought were obvious enough. I don't mean to be nit-picky--I truly enjoyed this book. The story lingered in my mind long after I finished reading it.

The characters are so well-developed. They are realistic and relatable. In fact, the entire story could be an account of something that happened to some random person out there.

Walker is definitely one of my favorite non-horror authors and I look forward to reading more of her engrossing books.

So, this Saturday sometime before noon, my husband askś me: Don˙t tell me SHE wrote another book??
She??
Yes, she Sarah Ann?
Well, yes - why do you ask.?
Oh, nothing, just so I know. If it`s her you reading I will cook this weekend... ( and he did :D )

That has nothing and everything to do with this book. Since the first one "I am her.." which is still my favorite of all times I simple adore this author. So much suspense and amazing love in her books despite all the craziness in the main characters ... O K, I must admit I love my main characters a little crazy. Not that It even occurred to me until the very end..

All in all absolute five stars and I simply cant wait next book.

5 LOST STARS!

BEAUTIFULLY TRAGIC!

I really can't tell you about my feelings this time. It's usually what I do in my reviews. I don't like giving the story away and I definitely don't like giving spoilers. IF you've read a Sarah Ann Walker novel then you know it's not going to be peaches and cream. And I totally went in thinking this exact thing. But nothing prepared me. I should warn you, this isn't a girl meets boy and they ride off into the sunset kinda story. It's an all consuming love story with two lost souls connecting. Beautiful yet Tragic.

Sophie, the the good girl, the twin that was ALWAYS right, the one who will be the THE better twin. The one that planned and perfected her life and her FOREVER! She went through life perfecting herself but never really happy. She lived but never really lived, never really loved.

Peter, the perfect man in the history of perfect men. Until he's not. The one to make Sophie live, LOVE, to make Sophie feel. To make Sophie Lost. The whole time I'm reading in the back of my mind all I could think was, something isn't right. Peter was just too perfect. Sarah added little hints to let us know it was coming, there were secrets lurking in the shadows.

I said I wouldn't tell you my feelings, I'm afraid I will scare you away. But I have to.

I've never read anything quite like this. Sarah takes you through the entire story. Ends and outs, you're right there with them. Some may say repetitive for some parts, but I have to call it the characters clawing there way into your soul, and that's exactly what happened. I was consumed by this story, enthralled by the characters, and completely destroyed by the end. But, why read a story if it doesn't touch you. I can honestly say not many authors can attach their stories to you in way that you will never forget. That's exactly what Sarah Walker does every time I pick up one of her books.

THE FEELS! You get me every time.

This book will leave you speechless and breathless.
This book will make you smile, laugh, feel free and happy.
This book will make your stomach flip.
This book will evoke emotions like every other Sarah Ann Walker book does.
You will devour this book. You will hate when it ends.

I read it in one day and was attached immediately. Everything drew me in. The perfected words, the first attraction, the beautiful love, Peter. Everything he said was unreal. But he didn't go over board. He had the right amount of everything, which I loved even more. I understood him and I felt for him. Deep down. I am beyond happy with the way this book ended. It is utter perfection and no other ending would be enough. No other storyline for these two characters would be perfect enough.

What an emotional ride I just rode! This is a love story, a very emotional one, that you start and don't stop reading till you close the book. Hooks you in from the first page and then typical Sarah Ann Walker style, lets it all unravel till the last part of the book...then its the icing on the cake. It's all explained to you and you have flash backs of reading the story and say...yup, uh huh, saw that coming, shucks why didn't I think of that! Excellent page turner!!!

Sarah did it again. Love her story telling, the twists and turns keep me glued to my kindle, patiently turning each page.

Sophie's begins her story in the present and flashbacks to the past. The past of how she grew up, with her family, in school, in her career. There was never room for error in Sophie's world. She strove for perfection; life was planned. She lived her life with intention.

Until she meets Peter, and he shows her that living life without pretense is ok. He brings her out of her own confined life and she falls in love. Hard.

But Peter... he has his own life, a life that is only shared with Sophie in part. He's so willing to do what ever he can for her, that they become dependent - and an unhealthy obsession forms. They live and breathe each other.

Sarah has a gift of writing a story that strings you along, and sucks you in, and then the bottom drops out.

Her stories are funny and heartbreaking. They are intricate, yet you find yourself easily immersed in the story. You feel the emotion in a way that can only be explained by reading her books.

This isn't a typical love story by far, but who wants to read that? I want to read the gritty, the struggle; the reality. These are the stories that I've grown to love from Sarah, and Lost doesn't disappoint.

Sara Ann Walker has done it , again. Another phenomenal love story with gripping emotion. This is not ordinary love story, but she has brought you smack in the middle of Sophie and Peter's lives. Like Sara's other books, every bit is painstakingly thought out and woven to perfection. You will not know what to expect. What you will get is true love, sacrifices, tears of joy and shattered dreams.
Sophie is an amazing woman, she has plans and always sees them through. What she wasn't expecting was Peter to walk into her life. Peter has waltzed right in and brought something new to the table.
You can't help but fall for these characters. Their love is beautiful and you want to see them be each others's "forever". Peter is a dream come true. Sophie's happiness is his priority.
This book brought me to tears and had my heart expanding with love. Sara Ann Walker's ability to bring you into the book is brilliant. I felt as though I was standing and watching everything happen. It always feels so real.
I thoroughly enjoyed Lost. This is an absolute must read, especially if you are a fan. Sara Ann Walker does not disappoint. If you haven't read one of her books, you should, you will be come addicted to her poignant writing style. It is always an incredible journey.

This is a genuine love story. About Peter and Sophie and that their love in the beginning was obsessive and passionate he had some skeletons in his closet she thought she knew all about him well that she gave him a key to her house but then he disappeared on her..

When they first met she thought he was a little creepy and persistent but he finally wore her down and she excepted a date with him..

Can you say twisty yeah say that one you will be in for the shock of your life seriously!

I'm amazed with the last couple chapters of this book and now I am like blown away I didn't see that one coming especially the ending and I don't want to give away any spoilers but oh my the ending was nooooooo it can't be don't end like this?!

What I took away from this book the rawness and grit it took for Sophie and Peter and what they did for love and their own special happy ending for themselves I'm so sad now there are no words that I can express or convey about their love story anymore..

This book was Insane in the Membrane! The strange courtship between a normally very self-controlled young woman and the shady guy who forces his way into her life and her heart. Sounds like a standard romance but as it turns out, it is more of a suspense story or psychological thriller, for lack of a better word. There were a lot of things that I disliked. The prose for one felt off-center. There were no typos or grammatical errors yet it felt like a translation of an original written in a foreign language. The dialogue was implausible. The ending abrupt. As offputting as it all was though, I could not put it down.I had to keep going til the end but it was a rough and bumpy journey. I don't know what to say because the story relies on so many outlandish plot twists that to say anything specific would spoil it for readers so I will just warn you to "enter at your own risk." Once you arrive in this whackadoodle world, it will be very hard to find an exit.

There is no way to review this book without giving anything away.I will say it's beautiful, consuming and raw. No words can adequately describe the emotional impact it has.I wish I'd read it slower to savor each word, sentence, paragraph this first time.It tells the story of a love like no other a soul destroying all encompassing love that has no regard for rules, boundaries or convention.I can't go on i"ll spoil it.All I'll say it's the kind of book you wish everyone would read because it's so beautiful.

Another gem by Miss Walker!

She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Lost is an amazing tale of someone being destroyed emotionally only to have to try and pick up the pieces as life deals her blow after blow. You'll laugh, you'll cry and then you'll be so emotionally blindsided that you'll feel it for days to come. This book does not disappoint. Highly recommended from this reader

Sophie has had a plan. She has always had a plan for her life. Be successful. Be mature. Be professional. She is all of these things when we are first introduced to Sophie in Lost. But when Peter is brought like a whirl wind into Sophie's life, there is so much more than meets the eye with the imperfectly perfect, timeless Peter that makes Sophie fall head over heels in love with him.

But, is their love all that its cracked up to be?

Sophie is a phenomenal character. She is the perfect definition of a self driven person throughout the book. She has landed her dream career, and has her life completely in order. When she finishes her short run at a herbal store where she was working part time, she meets Peter, a new customer who shows up out of the blue. When blue roses start appearing at Sophie's work, at her apartment, and the mysterious man begins taking care of her, she is in complete awe over him.

Peter is a whirl wind of emotions. While he sounds to be the perfect man, the perfect character for someone such as Sophie it is obvious that he is not. Sarah Ann Walker drops hints throughout the entire book that there is something wrong. Something horribly, terribly wrong with the entire picture of Sophie, and Peter. Sarah Ann Walker does a wonderful job throughout the entire book keeping Peter's secret from her readers.

Sophie has always been the one to leave her boyfriends. Always. It's been a rule of hers since she had first started dating. She has always let the man down easily, basically saying its her, not them. Her relationships were peaceful endings, almost always resulting in staying in contact with the man for a few months after their relationship. Peter rocks her world when he chooses to end the relationship. I think the worse part is that he didn't end the relationship well. He just....left....

"Peter opened the door and closed it behind him without even looking back at me once. He didn't look back even for a second. He simply opened the door and closed it behind him as he left me forever."

The fact that Peter was able to get up, and leave Sophie behind after a great three and a half was just irksome. I would have been devastated had my husband left me the way Peter left Sophie. Without any explanation, he left her life just as suddenly as he had come into it. An emotional roller coaster is the best way to describe this novel.

I highly recommend this book, and will warn you that you will fall in love with the idea of Peter. You will learn to care for Sophie, and share her agony as Peter controls her life, and you will be beyond shocked at the ending of this outstandingly phenomenal novel. Definite re-read!

Going into any of Sarah's books, I KNOW I am in for an emotional, intense ride of a lifetime..LOST took me on one and MORE! LOST is a beautiful love story, one that is a story of intensity, ups and downs, and committment..one that, I think, we all would aspire to find. This is Sophie and Peter's love story...Sophie, who has a PLAN for her life...she meets Peter, this man whom she is mysteriously drawn to, in every way, but who she knows, and feels, holds a secret, but she can't seem to stay away.
Against all odds, Sophie breaks down her walls and opens up to Peter, only to have Peter's secrets still between them. Just when you think you might have it all figured out, you definitely do NOT. Sarah has this way of leading you to a conclusion, but it's not ever what you think it is, that's the beauty of Sarah Ann Walker!
This story is tragic, emotional, intense, loving...and it will have you from the start. I did not want to put my Kindle down until I was finished, and when I was finished reading, I wanted MORE. Without giving any spoilers away, anything you might think about Sophie and Peter, you are probably wrong, so do yourself a favor and read this beautiful love story. Sarah Ann Walker is such a talented author...she should NOT be missed!

Oh my dayz. This is a truly tragic yet beautiful story. It consumed me from start to finish and stayed in my thoughts for days afterwards.

Sophie has her life planned out. Everything changes when she meets Peter. She gives him everything yet he's keeping secrets.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. It is so much more than I expected. I had goosebumps reading it. This book is one of the best emotional and intense stories I've read this year. If I could give it more than five stars I would.

I must add I gave a wee squeal when I saw this author had more books released. Fingers crossed my family listen to my hints for book vouchers for Xmas as this author is on my wish list:)

Sarah has done it again! Taken me on a roller coaster of emotions and giving me yet another story I will probably never forget. This is definitely not your typical love story and there is some serious ugly cry moments. I really don't want to say much more. I feel like talking about any part of the story will ruin the beautifully tragic journey of Sophie and Peter you will be taken on. I love this author and the way she sucks me in to her stories from the very first page.

I can't put into words how much I loved this story. It was heart warming, yet it tore my heart to pieces. This was such a beautiful, tragic love story. Sarah Ann did an amazing job writing Lost, she really has a way with words, I felt every emotion Sophie was feeling. Through out the whole book I tried to figure out who Peter really was, when I thought I had an idea, BOOM she pulled one hell of a twist that I never saw coming. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

This review is from: LOST (Kindle Edition)

I feel like I need to start at the end and work my way back to the beginning. The start of this book was really slow for me. I almost gave up..alas I am not a quitter and kept going. The middle of the book was better, sad & very emotional at times. The end...fantastic! A bit mind blowing and made it worth the time I took to read it. Another KU find.
