Monsoon by Subin Bhattarai is easy to read and has got couple of great parts which revolves around the protagonist's grandfather. Apart from that, it is just a clichéd love story that tries too hard to ask for attention, but fails due to the unlikable characters.

सुबिन भट्टराईको उपन्यास "मनसुन"मा खासै नौलो मैले केही पाइन । सुरुवातमा रामेश्वरको बिहे र भोजको राम्रो वर्णन गरिएको छ । सुभान (जसको नाम लेखकको जस्तो छ) र मनसुनको भेट स्वभाविक लाग्छ । फेसबुक र स्काईपका च्याट रमाइला छन् ।

मनसुन र सुभान साँझपख पानी परेको बेला बाइकमा मलेखु पुगेको प्रसङ्ग चाहिँ अलि अपत्यारिलो छ । अनि सुभानले मनसुनसँग लुगा माग्नु चाहिँ कथामै लेखेअनुसार 'सिक' हो । सुभानको "प्रेम" यहाँ आएर शारीरिक आकर्षण मात्रै हो भन्ने लाग्छ ।

सुभानले मनसुनलाई गिफ्ट दिँदा भौतिकता नदेख्नु तर तिनै कुरा मनसुनले फिर्ता गर्दा चाहिँ आत्मीय प्रेमको कुरा गर्दा मैले सुभानको चरीत्र अपरिपक्व पाएँ ।

सुभानको डिप्रेसन कथाको सबैभन्दा उत्कृष्ट भाग हो । उता मनसुनको मानसिक समस्या, "मुभ अन" गर्न नसक्ने कुरा "प्रेममा डुबेका मान्छे" लाई नै थाहा होला ।

अन्त्यतिर कथा ओरालो लागेको छ । निकोलास स्पार्क्सको "द नोटबुक" र चेतन भगतको "टु स्टेट्स" सम्झाउने शारीरिक सम्बन्धको पाँच पेजको दृश्य नराखेको भए पनि हुन्थ्यो । अन्त्यमा मनसुनले सुभानलाई छाडेर जाँदा मलाई कुनै पीडानै भएन । तसर्थ यो उपन्यास मलाई खल्लो लाग्यो ।

पात्रहरू अचानक आउँदै जाँदै गर्दा केही नमिलेको हो कि जस्तो लाग्यो । फेरि सुभानका आमाबाबुसँग उसले खासै अन्तरकृया नै गर्दैन । उसले हजुरबुबाकोे डायरी पढेको प्रसङ्ग उपन्यासमा सबैभन्दा "इमोसनल" क्षण थियो ।

"मनसुन"लाई टाइमपासको लागि मात्र पढ्नु नै उपयुक्त होला ।

well, when I read this book I observed the reality like break ups and patch ups kinda young adults love story lacking maturity but the truth is most of the love relations are in that verge. overall a good package of spice in the love story :)))

Monsoon book by Subin Bhattrai keeps you hanging till the part it tends to become better and then all of a sudden takes a dreary turn over. In the end, the book keeps you feeling sympathy for the protagonist. The way he tries so hard just to get the one person he loved the most in his life, really feels dragging the attention and all the monsoon cares about is her addiction for her past. The story is good, quite funny but the way it ends could have been better.

Monsoon मेरो लागि सुबिन भट्टराई को पहिलो किताब थियो। समग्रमा भन्नुपर्दा उपन्यास ठिकै लाग्यो। पाठकलाई पढ्नलाई सरल हुनु का साथसाथै राम्रो flow भएको अनुभुती भयो । कथा एकदम स्थिर बेगमा राम्ररी बगेको छ। तर किन किन उपन्यास को अन्त्य चै forced जस्तो फिल भयो । र यो addiction को सन्दर्भ पनि कहि-कतै नमिलेको लाग्यो, र Monsoon को परिस्थिती लाई राम्ररी नपुस्ठ्याँईएको जस्तो लाग्यो।

Monsoon was, as I remember, easy to read. It hit very differently in 2016. The hype was impeccable, and the story was good too. Being in your 20's and reading about love is just a different feeling, and reading with your friends? Taking turns, making it an audiobook session? That is what I remember more than I do the story! Thankyou for this.
