에도가와 란포와 함께 전후 일본 추리소설의 토대를 쌓은 거장 ‘요코미조 세이시’. 1921년 단편 <무서운 만우절>로 데뷔해 1981년 세상을 떠나기까지 무려 60여 년간 현역 작가로서 정력적으로 작품 활동을 펼친 그는 추리소설사에 길이 남을 걸작들을 무수하게 써냈다. 그중에서도 간판이라 할 수 있는 것이, 오늘날 일본의 국민 탐정이자 명탐정의 대명사로 불리는 ‘긴다이치 고스케’ 시리즈. 1946년 《혼진 살인 사건》에 처음 등장한 이래 마지막 장편 《악령도》까지 총 77편의 작품에서 활약한 이 명탐정은 작가 요코미조 세이시의 이름을 들으면 자동으로 떠오르는 분신 같은 캐릭터다.
그런데 ‘긴다이치 고스케’ 이전에 요코미조 세이시가 탄생시킨 또 다른 명탐정이 있었다는 사실을 아는가? 긴다이치 고스케가 종전 후 작가의 총아寵兒라면, 그 이전의 작품들에서 가장 돋보인 인물은 (장편을 기준으로) 《신주로》부터 《나비 부인 살인 사건》까지 10여 년간 맹활약한 유리 린타로였다. 한때 경시청 수사과장을 지낸, 온후한 성격의 중년 백발 명탐정.
마치 셜록과 왓슨처럼, 신문기자 미쓰기 슌스케와 함께 사건을 해결해 ‘유리·미쓰기’ 시리즈로 불리기도 하는 ‘유리 린타로’ 시리즈는 《혼진 살인 사건》과 동시 연재한 《나비 부인 살인 사건》을 끝으로 자연스레 ‘긴다이치 고스케’ 시리즈에 왕좌를 넘겨주고 사라졌지만, 그 이전까지 요코미조 세이시 작품들이 보였던 낭만적이고 탐미적인 작풍을 넘어서 본격적으로 서구식 논리적 추리와의 융합을 시도하며 ‘긴다이치 고스케’ 시리즈의 교두보 역할을 한 것으로 평가받는다.

Yokomizo was born in the city of Kobe, Hyōgo (兵庫県 神戸市). He read detective stories as a boy and in 1921, while employed by the Daiichi Bank, published his first story in the popular magazine "Shin Seinen" (新青年[New Youth]). He graduated from Osaka Pharmaceutical College (currently part of Osaka University) with a degree in pharmacy, and initially intended to take over his family's drug store even though sceptical of the contemporary ahistorical attitude towards drugs. However, drawn by his interest in literature, and the encouragement of Edogawa Rampo (江戸川 乱歩), he went to Tokyo instead, where he was hired by the Hakubunkan publishing company in 1926. After serving as editor in chief of several magazines, he resigned in 1932 to devote himself full-time to writing.
Yokomizo was attracted to the literary genre of historical fiction, especially that of the historical detective novel. In July 1934, while resting in the mountains of Nagano to recuperate from tuberculosis, he completed his first novel "Onibi" (『鬼火』), which was published in 1935, although parts were immediately censored by the authorities. Undeterred, Yokomizo followed on his early success with a second novel Ningyo Sashichi torimonocho (1938–1939). However, during World War II, he faced difficulties in getting his works published due to the wartime conditions, and was in severe economic difficulties. The lack of Streptomycin and other antibiotics also meant that his tuberculosis could not be properly treated, and he joked with friends that it was a race to see whether he would die of disease or of starvation.
However, soon after the end of World War II, his works received wide recognition and he developed an enormous fan following. He published many works via Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in serialized form, concentrating only on popular mystery novels, based on the orthodox western detective story format, starting with "Honjin Satsujin Jiken" (『本陣殺人事件』) and "Chōchō Satsujin Jinken" (『蝶々殺人事件』) (both in 1946). His works became the model for postwar Japanese mystery writing. He was also often called the "Japanese John Dickson Carr" after the writer whom he admired.
Yokomizo is most well known for creating the private detective character Kosuke Kindaichi (金田一 耕助). Many of his works have been made into movies.
Yokomizo died of colon cancer in 1981. His grave is at the Seishun-en cemetery in Kawasaki, Kanagawa (神奈川県 川崎市).

เรื่องนี้เป็นหนึ่งในซี่รี่ส์ของ อาจารย์ยูริ ที่เป็นอดีตำรวจและนักข่าวคู่หูก็คือ มิซุงิ(แต่เล่มนี้ไม่มี มิซุงิ)
ของบ้านเรา ที่แปลแล้วก็มี

ใน 3 เรื่องนี้ ยังเหลือ ฆาตกรรมมาดามบัตเตอร์ฟลาย ที่ยังไม่ได้อ่าน
เข้าเรื่อง
นิยายเล่มนี้ก็หใ้อารมณืคล้ายๆคินดะอิจิ(ก็คนเขียนคนเดียวกันนี่เนอะ )
ตอนแรกที่อ่านๆไปก็มีเฟลนิดๆตรงที่ว่า ในต้นเรื่องบอกหมดเลยว่าฆาตกรเป็นใคร พอมีเหตุฆาตกรรม
ตัวเอกทั้งสองก็ย้ายกลับโตเกียว แล้วตัวฆาตกรหนุ่มรูปงาม ก็มาดผล่ที่โตเกี่ยวแล้วก็มีเหตุฆาตกรรมเกิดขึ้นอีก
เอาตรงๆ มีเดาได้นิดนึง แต่ก็ไม่สามารถเดาได้หมด แล้วสิ่งที่ทำให้ขอบเรื่องนี้ก็คือการที่ยังมีจุดพลิกผันต่างๆมาให้เราเหวอ
จากตอนแรกที่เฟลๆนิดนึงกลายเป็นว่าชอบเลย
ส่วนตอนแถมเรื่อง ฉากนกยูง อันนี้ดีนะ สนุกดี ทั้งโรแมนติก ทั้งพิศวงงงงวย
จุดเด่นของอาจารย์คนนี้คือการเขียนเรื่องสั้นแล้วสนุกมาก ดูได้จากคินดะอิจิ ที่มีตอนสั้นๆมากมาย
ถึงความสนุกจะสู้ตอนยาวไม่ได้ แต่มันก็มีความสนุก มีความซับซ้อน ในฉบับสั้นๆ
/เห็นหลายๆคนบอกว่า ใน บรรดา 3 เล่ม เรื่่องความสนุกสู้อีก 2 เล่มไม่ได้เลย
แต่ความจริงเรามองว่ามันคนละอารมณ์กันนะ ถึงจะมี อาจารย์ยูริเป็นนักสืบเหมือนกัน
แต่ฉาก และ การดำเนินเรื่องมันไม่ได้เหมือนกัน
เพราะงั้นเลยคิดว่า เล่มนี้ถึงจะสนุกนอยสุด แต่มันก็มีแนวทางของมัน

เป็นเรื่องแรกของ โยโคมิโซะ เซชิ ที่อ่านรวดเดียวจบ โดยที่ไม่ต้องอ่านเล่มอื่นแทรก
ฆาตกรไร้เงา อ่านได้เพลินๆ เนื้อเรื่องพอเดาได้ แต่ไม่ได้เดาถูกแบบ 100% ตัวละครไม่เยอะ เหมาะกับคนสมองปลาทองอย่างผม
แต่ที่ชอบมากกว่าคือเรื่องแถมอย่าง ฉากนกยูง เรื่องสั้นที่มีทั้งความลึกลับจากปมในอดีตและความซาบซึ้งในความรัก

ผู้เขียนเดียวกับเรื่องคินดะอิจิรุ่นปู่ค่ะ
แต่เรื่องนี้ไม่ใช่ชุดคินดะอิจินะคะ
เนื้อเรื่อง ตื่นเต้นดีค่ะ แอบหลอนเล็กๆ
ตอนแรกนึกว่าเป็นเรื่องผีด้วย
ในส่วนฆาตกรรมก็ดูสยดสยอง ขนลุุก
เรื่องนี้แอบสงสารตัวฆาตกร หนุ่มน้อยรูปงาม
ถ้าอ่านแล้วจะรู้ว่ามีชีวิตน่าสงสารมาก
คนที่เลี้ยงดูมาเหมือนสมควรถูกฆ่าตายเลย
แต่บทเฉลยของเรื่องก็ชวนอึ้ง
เมื่อมันไม่ได้เป็นอย่างที่เข้าใจตั้งแต่แรก
จริงๆ จากเรื่องย่อที่ปกหลังดูเหมือนเป็นนิยายเรื่องเดียว
แต่พออ่านจริงๆ กลับมีเรื่องสั้นอีก1เรื่องเป็นของแถม
ในสวนเรื่องสั้นไม่ได้ชวนสยดสยองขนลุก
แต่กลับชวนซาบซึ้งใจแทน
เมื่อพรหมลิขิต หรือคู่แท้ ได้หวนกลับมาอีกคำรบนึง
