The war for the realm rages. The forge burns one last time.
After the Heart of the Forest was destroyed, hope crumbled with it. Now, Erevan—blacksmith, exile, and reluctant hero—must journey through the ashes of his failing kingdom to reforge what was lost. But steel alone cannot stand against the tide of darkness.
The humans march on Y’Sathyr, armed with necromancers and shadows that twist the will of the living. The dwarves rise from the mountains. Dragons stir in ancient cities. And somewhere in the chaos, a secret Council moves to claim the world for itself while the Thieves Guild tries to countermove.
After everything that has happened over the last 3 books, the way this ended is not only satisfying but the only way to end it. Erevan impressed me so much in this book. He grew and changed. He was smart about things and made the right decisions, even after the Timekeeper and dragons questioned him. He never faltered. He followed his heart and in turn, returned the heart of the Forge to where it truly belonged. As much as I have loved Erevan, there's only one character that truly has my entire heart. That character is Nayal. I was completely devastated after his actions in book 1 and 2, but I never lost my hope for him. Not once did my belief in him falter. Im so proud of where hes ended up. The decisions he made and taking responsibility for his horrible mistakes. I love seeing him and Erevan be partners again. There is so much i want to talk about and say. However, I cant seem to find the words. So many beautiful and amazing moments throughout this story. And this trilogy will go down in my list as one of my FAVORITE series ever!!! Thank you Matt for writing an incredible story of perseverance and staying true to your own heart 💙 Bravo Bravo 👏
Fantastic final book in this wonderful series! Erevan’s journey takes him through many twists and turns, testing his will and toughness in many unexpected ways. The dwarves are once again my favorite characters as well as the dragons that play a very important part in the story. Erevan must make difficult decisions as to whom he can trust, as the wrong choices could be deadly. The litRPG elements were very good, as Erevan grew to new heights a a blacksmith. I loved this book from the beginning to the end!
