Pine Valley is a school that’s both rich in history and legacy, and it’s once more opening its doors to another year of students.
Laila “Lally” Stewart is drowning her grief for her deceased best friend the only way she knows how—by partying, isolating herself, and leaving her friends behind—until her school notices her debauchery and gives her one last chance to prove she is worthy of its hallowed halls.
Only, it comes with a price tag she can’t pay, at least not until she finds herself involved in a game called Risk, where the stakes are high, but the payout is higher.
Alice Anders has been in love with Lally since they first met. Despite Lally’s cold attitude and desire to self-destruct, Alice is determined to save her no matter the cost, even if it means partaking in a game meant to break her.
When the danger becomes very real, however, will Lally and Alice be able to survive this deadly game?
After all, what would you be willing to risk for the one you love?
Can Lally and Alice endure the darkness Pine Valley hides, or will bleeding hearts be all that’s left?
When sapphic romance meets squid games! What a wild ride !

If you’ve read the previous books in this series (which are delicious and hot and necessary) then you know Lally. Lally lost her platonic soul mate. And she’s been lost ever since. She’s spiralling. She’s failing her classes, and she’s pushed everyone who matters to her away. So when the infamous Risk games are approaching.. she knows she needs the money. And her life? Well she’s dead inside anyways.. why not risk it all?
Alice has been in love with Lals for as long as she can remember. And no matter what Lally says.. Alice knows that there end game. She just has to help her see it. So when she finds out the love of her life has entered the dangerous games.. she decides to join in to protect her.
These two were absolutely delicious. Spicy, hot, fun, wild, a bit scary at times, and just so so sweet. Parts of their story had me on the edge of my seat, and others had me tearing up over the beautiful way they just LOVED one another.
If you’re looking for some yummy sapphic romance with all the dirty talk, some dark aspects (check TWs) and some twists and turns that you won’t see coming.. this one’s for you. The found family in this one was truly beautiful and I loved seeing all of the past characters make their appearances.
Overall this book was fun, and exciting. It did feel a bit repetitive at times for me, but I loved watching Lally and Alice’s relationship grow and flourish. I’m so happy that these two finally got the HEA that they deserve, but it was a rough road for both of them to get there.. so hang on tight.
Will Alice be able to save the love of her life from herself and from the dangerous game of Risk, or lose her life trying? 👀
This is the 3rd book in the Pine Valley series. I absolutely loved the 1st and 2nd books, so I was excited to read this one.
This book is about Alice and Laila. Alice is Alek's (from the 1st book) little sister.
Laila is finding it hard to cope with life since the events that happened during the first book. Laila tries to cope with her grief by pushing everyone away, drinking until she can barely stand and falling into bed with random people.
Alice, who is completely besotted with Laila, tries to help in any way she can.
Due to the way Laila has been acting, she is told that she has lost her scholarship, and unless she can pay her own tuition, then she will have to leave.
Laila, desperate for money, finds out about a game called Risk. The winner will walk away with $1,000,000. The only issue is that Alice won't let Laila enter alone and wants to try to keep her safe.
The game is very squid game like and keeps you in suspense and on the edge of your seat. Especially the Russian roulette round 🤦♀️ I was so nervous during that.
The games were so good and kept me hooked throughout. This was my first FF book. The love between Laila and Alice was beautiful. The spicy parts, unfortunately, were not for me, but that's OK. I'm glad that this wasn't your usual MF or even MM.
This lost 1 star for me only because I felt that the reveal of the big baddies was over too quickly. I would've liked more of a story there. Otherwise, I ate this up!
The third book of the Pine Valley College series brings Alice and Lally. Alice is Alek’s sister and Lally is Evan’s best friend. After their friend group survived a horrible situation on campus, life went on but none of them were the same. Lally and Alice both had traumas and scars from that night that they’d never forget, and while Alice tried with everything she had to keep going, Lally was going down a darker path and no one seemed to be able to help her, until she’s thrown into a situation where she realizes she’s got more to life for than she thought.
This third book was a lot more emotional than the first two, it was interesting and I enjoyed the story. I must admit it wasn’t my favorite in the series but it was still good. I love Alek and Evan, and Sky and Bones, they were my favorites all along. I’m also very curious about Nikko… 👀 wondering what more will come out of this series.
- Friends to lovers - Second chance - Grumpy vs sunshine - FF romance - Found family
Bleeding Hearts is the third book in the Pine Valley College series and K.A. Knight’s first sapphic romance (mine too)!
I absolutely devoured this book. The mystery and intrigue pulls you in right from the first chapter. The events of the first two books weren’t covered in great detail but give enough that this book can be read on its own.
Even not having read the first two books in this series, it’s obvious that Lally is truly going through it, and Alice will do whatever it takes to make sure Lally knows she’s not alone.
Risk is a game that threatens to tear these two apart just as much as it brings them together. Constantly battling danger, secrets, and their own shared trauma, Lally and Alice will do whatever it takes to save themselves, and each other.
This book was action packed, full of plot, and of course, plenty of spice.
This sapphic romance is full of action and keeps you on your toes!
If you've read the other books in the series, then you've already met Lally and Alice, and you are aware of what happened previously that has seen Lally lose herself to grief. Alice can see she is struggling and has been doing as much as she can to save Lally from her self-destructive ways. Unfortunately, she's too late to save Lally from entering the infamous Risk game.
Of course Alice joins too, who else is gonna help Lally when she's adamant that she doesn't need it.
We're left wondering when each game round is coming and what each round entails. And each round gets more dangerous. After all, they have to risk it all to win the game.
This was my first ever sapphic read, and I really enjoyed it. The love these two had for each other was all consuming. They were fun, wild, hot, and so caring. I loved seeing the characters from books 1 and 2 come into the story. They are the epitome of found family.
Just like the first 2 books in this series, this one was another 6 stars and a favorite of the year. I have been wanting Lally and Alice's book since we first met them. I cried a few times while reading this book. My favorite parts are definitely the relationships and found family moments. I loved the storyline and the smut. But the found family and the characters were my favorite things about the book. I can't wait for some more books in this world.
This was hands down my fav in the series!! I loved watching the relationship between Lally and Alice bloom, so happy that they got their happy ending 😭
I rarely ever read FF romances; you already know Katie killed it. I’ve been dying to get Alice’s story since the first book. If anyone deserves a HEA, it is her. You couldn’t put this book down.
Lally had a lot to go through, but with everyone’s determination and Alice never giving up, it shows how much they care.
The painting scene 🥵 Any scene with Skylar was so freaking good. He will always be my favorite.
Well what a ride 🤯 But I shouldn't be surprise since K.A Knight got me used to this kind of read.
I will be completely honest with you and tell you it took me a bit to fell in love with Lally and Alice' story. In the beginning we were stuck in this back and forth between the two of them that got me annoyed even if I knew it had sense in the grand scheme of things... Then the book became so damn emotional and that's when I really start to love the story. I'm not afraid to say that i cried a little bit 🥺 However those moments were well mixed with hot scenes, like I'm gonna melt if you keep going like that 🥵🥵, and adrenalinic ones, like omg what the f*ck it's going on 😭😱🤯🙈.
It's definitely a great add to a series I love. And i can't wait to know what the next book has in store for us 🤩
P.s. Skylar and Bones are so freaking amazing 😍😍 they are my favorite and I loved reading glimpses of their own brand of craziness 🤣🤣🤣
I don't read or listen to a lot of F/F but I am always game if the story sounds fantastic and I was already invested in these two after listening to books 1 and 2 of Pine Valley. I needed to see them get their HEAs after what Lally and Alice had been through and especially what they went through in this crazy rollercoaster of life and death situations, not exaggerating here!
I won't give things away because not knowing what was going to happen next int the fatal dame of Risk was half of the intrigue. I don't know how this author does it, all these scenes pop in her head and she does such a good job putting us in that situation in our minds eye, imagining what the characters are going through and hoping they get out in one piece. Some of the other participants definitely don't so be prepared for that! I loved seeing Lally let go and let Alice back in after what happened with Tommy. She took it the hardest and I am glad Alice never stopped being there for her even if she kept pushing her away. I wanted to shake the other friends but they finally got involved in the intervention and was there for Lally like they should have been from the beginning.
The steam in this one was hot, but I found the connection stronger and the adorable and romance moments from powerful between Lally and Alice. How they would sacrifice for each other if necessary, their love was so strong and #goals. I hope these two have a quiet rest of their life, they went through way too many bad situations and barely made it out. The way the author ended this and took the baddies down was fantastic. I liked getting all the moments with our crew from Pine Valley, especially Bones and Skylar haha. Alek had more airtime in this one which makes sense since Alice is his sis, and glad he finally got on board and let her be her own person but also show support for her and Lally. I was shocked by the other previous side character making an appearance and trying to be a good person after being horrible all of book 2 and the whole life of one of my favorite characters. At least he has seen the error of his ways. I wouldn't forgive him for what he did but it was appreciated how he came in to support them.
Great addition to this fantastic series. I cannot wait to get more HEAs from these characters. I like the hint of the characters, little easter eggs the author left in this one. Like one of the main characters in book 4 being seen at the nail place in this one with his horrible partner (who won't be one for long based on the blurb for Brawling hahaha). One of my favorite series of all time but this author, cannot recommend enough! And narration was perfect, cannot recommend these two enough. I felt all the emotions, the connections, the fear and happiness. No feedback besides I am so glad they do this for a living, to bring these characters to life for us readers/listeners!
“Don’t risk your life for mine. I’m not worth it.”
“You are.”
Pine Valley takes a darker turn and this time Lally & Alice are going to risk it all.
Friendship. Love. Their lives…
Since the loss of her friend who was like the other half of her soul, Lally has been spiralling hard and now she is faced with losing her scholarship to Pine Valley. Lally has been turning everyone who matters away, she can’t cope without Tommy and the grief is becoming all too consuming.
The only brightness in the neverending gloom is Alice Anders.
One night could have been everything…until that night happened.
However, the rumours of a game called Risk could be Lally's lifeline to hanging onto Tommy's memory at the college and stop her from screwing her life up even more.
Her kiss hurts as much as my words do, yet it feels so good.
As far as Alice is concerned, Lally Stewart is the only girl for her and with each sharp word Lally throws at her it just makes Alice more determined to help heal her. Alice can see the grief eating away at Lally and hates her refusing anyone that wants to help.
Now with the game Risk happening in her hometown, the Silent Rose wants to uncover what is really happening to the contestants and knowing that Lally is taking part Alice steps forward to take part to find the truth behind the secrets.
Can Lally & Alice risk it all and see the love they both have for each other?
Or, will they have to risk their love to finally win the corrupted games…before their last breaths….
“I can live with a little pain, I can live with you not loving me, but I can’t live without you.”
Goodness me this was an emotional whirlwind of a ride and a compelling storyline that you didn’t want to put down. First time for Knight writing a FF story and for me this was very well written.
The characters, Lally is really struggling to cope with Tommy’s death (from book 1 within this series) with everyone moving on with heavy hearts Lally pushes everyone away and seeks the comfort void. We saw the signs of Alice forming a relationship with Lally, however now Alice is trying to be there for Lally no matter how many times Lally refuses her.
I liked seeing the development grow for each of the characters, it was more than just two characters falling in love. Finding a way forward after tragic loss, not allowing the darkness to creep in and take over by losing everything that’s good in your life.
Then having the storyline with Risk made this very exciting. How were the characters going to survive each task, who was really behind everything and what would happen if they did stand up and take that risk?
4/5🌶️ •hurt x comfort •sapphic •dark romance •squid games vibes lowkey •grumpy x sunshine •touch her and die •second chance •friends to lovers
“I’ll risk anything for you.”
Alice and Lally were hot 😮💨 i loved watching their relationship grow and flourish. they were everything eachother needed and would do anything to keep the other safe.
we watch Lally go through her grief and try to cope after losing her platonic soulmate. she turns to alcohol and partying and is constantly pushing the people she loves away. i loved watching her find herself again, it was beautiful.
Alice truly is so stubborn and does not give up. i loved that about her. where Lally went, she did to. everyone needs someone like Alice. someone who won’t give up even where their being tested. there is nothing she wouldn’t have done for Lally. i loved her!

If you’re after a book that’ll have your heart lodged firmly in your throat and keep you teetering on the edge of your seat, Bleeding Hearts is exactly what you’re looking for!
Wow. Just… wow. There’s absolutely no surprise that I loved this one, every book in this series has absolutely blown me away, and this book has only deepened my obsession.
Katie really cranked things up a notch with this one. Imagine Squid Games colliding with Would You Rather, then sprinkle in an elite secret-society college setting… This book seriously has it all.
We follow Lally, a girl shattered after losing her best friend, her platonic soulmate. As her life spirals downward and her last shred of normalcy slips away, she’s faced with one impossible choice: join a game full of horrors and heartbreak, that gives you impossible choices to make. But at what cost? Is she truly willing to risk everything, even the person who loves her the most?
Then there’s Alice. When she realizes the girl she loves has stepped into this brutal game, she refuses to let her fight alone. I adored her courage — how she dove headfirst into danger, fighting for her love even when every single odd was stacked against her. When her own life dangled by a thread, she never hesitated. Her strength had me asking myself: what would I do for love?
This book is a wild, unrelenting ride. Katie seized my attention from page one and didn’t let go until the final word and even then, she left me desperate for the next book (which I’m already ridiculously excited about, despite knowing nothing about it except minor hints 😂).
This was only my second sapphic romance, and I loved every second! While MM will probably always be my favourite, this story was absolutely bloody brilliant and scorching hot 🥵. If sapphic romance aren’t usually your go-to, I’d still say take the leap. You won’t regret it.
I highly recommend this book if you’re into these tropes: 💋 Grumpy/Sunshine ❤️🔥 Friends to Lovers 💋 Touch Her and Die ❤️🔥 Found Family 💋 Second Chance ❤️🔥 Sapphic goodness 💋 Full of suspense ❤️🔥 Dark, spicy college romance
I just loved Alice and Lally's story so much! It came at the perfect time.
We have met and gotten to know Alice and Lally is the Pine Valley world, but we took a deep dive to what is truly going on behind the scenes, and it was a bit of a rollercoaster. Alice is sweet and kind but also has their fierce quality to her that you see more and more throughout her story. Lally is brave, loyal, and resilient, but she's been knocked down by what's happened. I love that with Alice's help, she finds herself again.
After Tommy's death, Lally is not coping at all and turns to substances to numb the pain. None of her friends see it except for Alice, and she does everything to help Lally in those moments. However, Lally pushes her away with cruel words and actions. It all comes to a head when Lally is forced to enter into a dangerous game, and Alice, being the amazing human she is, watches, observes, and eventually takes part to protect Lally. The game was intense, and both Lally and Alice will never forget what happened in those games. It was evident to me quite early on that Alice and Lally are in love with each other but Lally definitely had her walls up but over time Alice proved time and time again that she will always be by Lally's side no matter what. There were definitely ups and downs and some harsh relalities revealed, so be prepared to cry because I did, but I think it was needed for Alice and Lally especially.
I could go on and on, but i want you to experience this for yourself.
All i will say is that Lally and Alice are true soul mates, and I am so happy they got their happily ever after.
Loved this!
Thank you so much to Katie and your incredible team for the opportunity to read this story and be a part of your amazing ARC team. I am forever grateful 🙏

#ARC. What a ride! Bleeding Hearts, book 3 in the Pine Valley College series is another thrilling edition to the lives of an amazing group of friends. Friends who have already overcome so much grief and have jumped through many hurdles. Alice and Lally have finally gotten their story and time to shine. This book was a rollercoaster in the best of ways! With nonstop action and suspense as the characters "Risk" it all. A definite page turner that keeps you on your toes. I really loved the exciting world that was created in this book. Lally's still grieving the loss of her best friend and has embraced her grief but Alice refuses to let her disappear into it. Alice willingly risks her life just to stand by Lally while she commits unthinkable tasks and risks her own. All for the sake of saving the one you love in every way possible. Stubbornly and frustratingly they both continue to put themselves in danger, often realizing too late that the only thing that truly matters is that they have one another...This story really digs into grief and the way that it suffocates you. Lally was so lost in her despair that she didn't realize that her friends were just coping in other ways, but they were still in the mists of their grief as well. Alice fought to love Lally when she couldn't love herself, never giving up on her and it was both terrifying and beautiful to watch. “Rest your sword, I’ll fight for our future. I’ll fight until you get to be that happy again." It was a treat to watch how possessive Alice and Lally were of one another. I loved seeing Evan, Alek, Bones and Skylar again! They're hysterical and lifted the book in its darker moments and there were many. This read was passionate, thrilling, raw and heartbreakingly beautiful to watch this group of friends struggle to survive it all. And survive they always do against all odds! Tommy would be so proud. ❤️ I LOVED it, and I adore this series! I can't wait for the next one! So many stars!😍
I love everything K.A. Knight writes and this book is now one of my favorite stories. I loved Racing Hearts and Crashing Hearts but Bleeding Hearts just stole the show. I have been waiting for Lally and Alice’s book since Racing Hearts and now that it’s finally here, I want moreee! This book had me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to stop reading when I had to. The plot, the characters, and the spice was just perfect.
Lally has been lost ever since her best friend Tommy passed away. Alcohol has fully taken over and the school has given her one more chance but that chance requires tuition that she doesn’t have until Risk appears. A dangerous game that leaves one final person to win all the money. Alice is worried about Lally and will stop at nothing to make sure she’s ok. Even if that means risking it all as well.
Lally has been through it her whole life and now that her best friend is dead, all she can do is shut down. Her character is broken and lost. The growth from the beginning to the end is so amazing. Alice is so strong and so beautiful. She will literally put her life on the line to make sure Lally is good. Both of these characters are just so beautiful and I love them together. The chemistry and spice were off the charts.
This story was so entertaining. The different storylines and the risks had me hostage. All of the characters together were so sweet. I just loved this story so much and I honestly could read more of it. If you haven’t read the Pine Valley College series yet, I highly recommend it!
🎀 “Why do I miss your hate as soon as it's gone? It's better than this... silence. I can handle you hating me, but I can't handle you leaving me.”
⭐️ 3.5 | 🌶️ 4
This story follows Lally and Alice.... friends who are slowly, painfully, become something more. Both are grieving a devastating loss but in completely opposite ways Alice has withdrawn into herself more while Lally spirals into self destruction mode and becomes a threat to herself
The story also weaves in The Risk which is an extreme, high stakes competition with challenges that end with life or death.
Lally's back and forth with Alice did wear on me a bit But looking back,??... it felt true to her journey. Healing and self love are messy and we see that first hand here. you want to throttle her at times but it makes her growth so much more powerful when it finally comes.
I also REALLY REALLY loved how their friends stood by Lally (after Alice lets them know what's going on). Even when she pushed and pulled consistently her friends never let go of her hand. They didn’t try to fix her... they just stayed, and that hit me hard.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I haven’t read the first two in the series, but I followed along just fine (though now I wish I had read them first!!! i really like these characters). KA Knight’s writing hooked me, and I’ll definitely be back for more!!
3rd book in the Pine Valley College series, focuses on Alice and Lally. Sapphic romance with tropes like hurt x comfort, touch her and die, grumpy x sunshine, second chance, and friends to lovers. Can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series in order.
Both Alice and Lally were familiar characters from the previous Pine Valley books, so it was nice to get their story and learn more about them as characters. Lally especially had gone through a lot, she was lost and spiraling. Luckily, Alice was there for her, no matter how hard Lally tried to push her away.
The deadly secret competition (Risk) was interesting.
At times Alice & Lally’s relationship development and the push and pull between them was a bit repetitive, but overall I enjoyed their story.
Check the TW/CW before reading!
“I’m healing one brush stroke at a time. I’m moving on, or so everyone thinks.” “Everyone I know is happy and in love, and I’m just here, pining after someone who doesn’t even want me anymore.” “I’m fucking drowning, and nobody knows.” “Don’t risk your life for mine. I’m not worth it.” “I love you. Stay away from me.” “Why is being intimate, being in love, so hard and scary for you?”
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
📚📚📚 This one i absolutely adored!! I found myself when reading just completely consumed by Alice and Lally! While it wouldn’t be a Katie knight book without bringing me through a ride of emotions and this one totally did just that! My heart was hurting so much for Lally while needing everything to just work out. Alice literally met all my expectations and more in this book. Alice seriously stepped up in ways many others wouldn’t. The strength throughout both of these characters while reading is amazing!! By the end I just became more in love with this series!
That paint scene was truly top tier 🔥 📚📚📚 If you like to read: - Sapphic romance - Friends to lovers - Second Chance - Grumpy x sunshine - Touch her and 💀💀 - Hurt x comfort … You should definitely check this out

Thank you so much for sending me a copy for an honest review in my own words. #giftedcopy
✨Do you enjoy painting? Or do you enjoy any other crafts?
This book gave me exactly what I was hoping for in a sapphic romance, dark college vibes, heartache, friendships that hurt in the best way, and some very good dirty talk 🤭🩷
“I can’t take seeing the love in her eyes change to hate, so I leave first to keep her and my heart safe.”
Lally is consumed by grief and guilt, spiraling into self destructive behavior while pushing away the people who care about her. Alice, on the other hand, has had feelings for Lally since the start of their friendship.
When Lally becomes desperate for money, she enters a dangerous underground game called Risk, and Alice refuses to stand on the sidelines. She’s willing to risk her life and her heart to keep Lally safe, even when Lally is determined to push her away. Watching Lally fight her feelings while Alice refuses to stop loving her was honestly goosebump-level emotional.
I loved show much they both loved each other and how willing they both were to risk it all.
I also loved getting more of the Pine Valley crew again Alek, Evan, Bones, and Skyler. The friendships, banter, and loyalty adds a special touch to the series.

Bleeding Hearts is book 3 in the Pine Valley College series. This is my first time reading a book from K.A. Knight and I have to say I’m looking forward to reading more of their books which I already put on my TBR!! I will definitely be checking out the other books on the series as well.
After Tommy’s death Lally started spiraling and Alice was the only one that noticed it. She was failing her classes so she signed up for a game called RISK. The winner would win 1 million and she definitely needed the money to help pay for her classes. When Alice who has been in love with Lally since they met finds out that Lally has entered the dangerous RISK game she also signs up to protect Lally.
I really liked how Alice never gave up on Lally. It showed how much she loved and cared for her. They both really loved one another and I am glad they have each other!! The spice between them was spicing for real🥵 The story sure did have enough twist and turns to keep me turning the pages and on the edge of my seat. The RISK game sure had me gasping every time! I also liked the other characters and the bond they all had. The ending was beautiful. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one!
thank you Wordsmith Publicity for the ARC in exchange of my honest review!🩷

“I’m just happy” I tell her. “I never thought I’d get to be this happy. I have a home, a family… I never thought I’d have any of it.”
I never felt fear until I realized I could lose her forever.
I just want to be her good girl. I just want to be her baby.

This is book 3 in the series each with this standalone with different couples, but I highly recommend reading both books in order to follow the overreaching plot. Please check your trigger warnings cause your mental health matters.
I love Alice in Lally, both have been through a lot. After losing Tommy, the grief hits hard and Lalley starts pushing Alice away. But Alice refuses to give up on lalley. Lalley is on a self destructive path, on this grieving road and feeling dead inside she decides to enter a dangerous game to participate in called the Risk. Winner receives a grand prize of a milllion dollars. Alice decides to infiltrate to try and protect Lalley but they both end up struggling it’s so heartbreaking to see their struggle, with the pain and grief and different ways of dealing and handling that. This was so beautifully heartbreaking and to see Lalley finally put aside the grief and reconnect with Alice and live in here and now. They’re so hot and sizzling together 🔥 This definitely had no shortage of drama and tough obstacles both physically and mentally. I definitely recommend reading this book 💯
Firstly I just want to say thank you Katie for the ARC!
Wow… Bleeding Hearts completely blew me away! This was my very first F/F romance and I’m SO glad I chose K.A. Knight to dive in with. Katie just has this magic way of writing romance, drama, and suspense that keeps me hooked the whole time and makes me fall in love with the characters instantly.
From the very beginning, I was invested. It is gripping, emotional, and so full of tension that I literally couldn’t put it down. The romance between Alice and Lally felt so raw and real, and the drama kept me guessing, and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat, desperate to see how it would all unfold. I caught myself saying “just one more chapter” way too many times because I didn’t want it to end.
What I loved most was how Katie makes you feel everything, every stolen glance, every moment of fear, every spark of connection. It’s a roller-coaster in the best possible way. I know that if I felt love that strong I would risk it all!
I cannot WAIT for the next book in this series, and I’m so excited for everyone to head back to Pine Valley Collage. If you’re looking for a romance that will grab your heart and refuse to let go, this is absolutely the one. 💜
To begin, I would like to draw your attention to the presence of trigger warnings in this book. It contains explicit sexual content, violence, grief, and suicidal ideations.
If you have read the first two books in the series, you are familiar with Lally and Alice. Lally is deeply affected by the loss of her platonic soulmate to murder. Alice is resolute in her determination to rescue Lally from the downward spiral of grief. A tug-of-war ensues between them. However, there is another game at play. Risk, a viral phenomenon sweeping across the nation, akin to Fear Factor on steroids, has taken hold in Pine Valley. Lally is captivated and intrigued, yet is she prepared to risk everything? Will Alice risk it all to save Lally? The time has come for them to engage in a game of wits and courage.
If you seek a captivating and emotionally charged sapphic romance that delves into explicit themes, dark undertones, and unexpected twists, then this book is undoubtedly a worthy read.

bleeding hearts is the third pine valley college book, and this time the focus is on lally and alice. i have been so excited about reading about alice and finally we got her book!!!
lally is really going through it after losing her best friend. she’s failing classes, shutting everyone out, and doesn’t seem to care what happens to her anymore. when the risk games come up, she signs up without much to lose. alice has been in love with her forever, and the second she finds out what lally’s done, she jumps in too. she’s not about to let lally face that mess alone.
their story was intense but also super sweet at times. there’s danger, action, steam, and some really emotional moments that hit hard. i also liked seeing the friend group from the earlier books show up again. it gave the story a nice balance with all the chaos.
a few parts felt a little drawn out, and i can’t say it’s my favorite of the series, but i still had a good time with it. lally and alice’s relationship felt real and messy in the best way, and i was rooting for them the whole time.
I WAS GIVEN AN E-ARC OF THE BOOK. THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION
I’ve been waiting for Lally & Alice’s book so much and it was perfect!
Lally is a hot mess. Tommy’s death still lingers and she’s going through it. Drinking, sex, skipping classes the whole deal. She ends up needing allot of money and she can’t bare to ask her friends who she’s been pushing away for help so when she finds the flyer for Risk she jumps on the opportunity I mean who wouldn’t with a million dollar prize!
Alice is holding on to hope that she can break through to Lally. She loves her and she will take all the cruel things she says to prove she isn’t going anywhere. She’s the only one seeing her spiral in grief. When she volunteers to investigate Risk in hopes to take them down she wasn’t expecting it to quite literally be life or death.
These games are brutal and must come to an end but someone very high up is behind it cause it seems everything’s being covered up.
I love all the characters in these series and love seeing them all again and the bond they all have due to that tragic night Tommy died.
Next up Nikko??? Oh he’s a fighter and I cannot wait!!!!
I’ve had a great time with this series! I liked the premise of this one. Risk, although a highly dangerous game was really fun to read about. I enjoyed that we as reader knew just as much as Lally and Alice did when it came to when the next game was going to take place and what was going to be involved.
Lally had an extremely hard journey trying to navigate how to move forward after losing her best friend and feeling as though she was alone but it was great to see her support system rally around her when she needed them and do their best to prove to her that they always have been and always will be there for her.
I love Alice’s tenacity. She kept moving forward to get where she wanted to be and she faced every hurdle with slight fear but kept going.
I love all the characters and being able to see everyone throughout the series even in small doses is fun. Evan and Alek are cute but Skylar and Bones are a current favorite. I’m not sure what next but I’m excited!
