2.5 This is a sweet and clean small town, Christian romance on an island town. The FMC is a young widow with two small children. The MMC is a single guy that met the FMC when she moved to the island when she was a teenager and loved her since. They never dated but remained friends. A few years after the FMC husband passed the MMC admitted his feelings. The MMC having his first kiss in his 20s with the FMC was a little weird. The MMC was a little disappointing because financially he was barely able to live on his own. How would he be able to help the FMC and her children. I wish he was more successful. Both MC have estranged relationships with their families. Another main focus of the book was bringing new businesses to the island and the obstacles they face. The FMC future on the island and keeping her house all hinges on her ability to get businesses to come to the island.

The characters seemed flat to me and unfortunately this wasn’t for me.
