My rating: 2 1/2 stars
What I loved: I liked how strong Clara(h) was. Also liked how Zorvak(H) made sure his people knew how important she was and that they were a unit, ruling together.
What I didn’t like: First, I hated how they just killed the bad guys but go on to have sex with the blood all over them and the dead bodies on the floor. Second, if I read it right, at the end is Zorvak dying and now his son is taking over?? I don’t want to read about the H dying even if it’s to set up the next book.
***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: h is kidnapped and tortured. h is collecting artifacts when she is transported to a different planet. H senses a shift and heads to the artifact where he sees the h. H was told of a prophecy in which an earthlings who is a Star bride/keystone will come and be “the catalyst rebirth for the realm”. H takes the h to his camp. He lets her train with his warriors. They start to have have feelings for each other but the H isn’t telling the h about the prophecy and why she was brought there. When h finds out that she is basically there because of the prophecy and how she will end the war (that basically the H is using her), she leaves only to get kidnapped. H comes and saves her and tells her that he loves her and that he wants her to stay and rule along side him. h decides to stay and they call for peace with the others.
Final thoughts: I need something different to read and decided to give this a go, unfortunately it was just an ok read for me. It’s one of those books you read but forget all about it right after reading it. I don’t think I will continue this series.

Clara is an archaeologist who finds an artifact that transports her to Zorvak's world. Zorvak thinks she is the alien that has been foretold to come and bring his people together. But once he's around her for a little while, he realizes that she's his mate too. He's shocked by this because he thought that his mate would be one of his own species.
She's treated well but feels like she's being held hostage for reasons she's doesn't understand. He really should have talked with her more about what he was thinking. But once they start spending more time together, she realizes that he really does like her and wants her to stay with him, not just because she's been foretold but because he cares about her.
I really liked these two and liked how the rest of the aliens came to think of her as being a strong female and not just an alien who they could overlook.
This novella was a quick read but it had a good storyline, danger at times, steamy sex scenes and a great ending.

A human woman touches an ancient artifact and is transported to another world. She is the Starlight Bride and the Warlord fears what she makes him feel. When she is kidnapped by a rival clan he will burn the planet to get her back. But it will takes blood, guts and determination before this couple finds their HEA. I enjoyed the world building and all of the action, both the steamy scenes and the bloody ones!

Interesting quick read bringing a human woman to an alien World at war via some archeological artifact tied to a prophecy. Action and insta-connection kept the story moving right to the end.
