A fresh start, a five-year-old murder, and a reclusive handyman—can Harmony rise to the challenge?
Harmony has always dreamed of owning the hotel her parents named her after. When her wish finally comes true, she learns it comes with a strange condition. The previous owner’s quiet, brooding nephew, Chase, must be allowed to live and work at the hotel for the next ten years.
If that isn’t strange enough, there is one room at the hotel that no one wants to enter because of a murder that took place years earlier. Some think it’s haunted, but Harmony knows there is something else behind the odd noises coming from the suite.
Once accused of murder, Chase has spent years in shadows, avoiding the town that still sees him as guilty. As Harmony begins to dig into the mystery—and gets to know the man behind the rumors—she starts to wonder if there’s more to Chase than his past.
Can she clear his name, solve the mystery, and not lose her heart in the process?
This is a cute little cozy mystery with some funky characters to charm the reader. While the mystery of the book is put together pretty well, there are some aspects of it that are so unrealistic that the book becomes unbelievable. The biggest issue I have is that the new owner of Harmony Landing, a hotel, bought it basically sight unseen because her parents named her after it. She is clueless as to the financial aspects of the hotel, how her staff gets paid, and how the hotel operates. She has three men actually living in the hotel full-time, but she doesn’t have any idea of how those arrangements work. She offers to co-own the hotel with someone, but it’s all based on feelings and not data. It was fun trying to figure out “who done it,” but that wasn’t enough to gloss over the extreme suspense of reality that the book wants the reader to accept.
This was an entertaining book with an unusual mystery. I will read the next one.

This is an enjoyable story with an unusual mystery. Harmony Landing was named after a hotel her parents visited before she was born. She is fascinated by this and decides to buy the hotel. The only stipulation the owner makes is that she must allow the woman's nephew to live at the hotel for the next 10 years. Chase is quiet and brooding, has kept to himself for a good number of years because of a murder in the hotel that everyone seems to think he did. Another strange thing is the room in the hotel that no one wants to enter because that is where the murder occurred and some believe the room to be haunted. Harmony believes there is more to the story of that room and gradually uncovers the truth after tearing the room apart. Harmony and Chase start to grow close while working to solve the mysteries. Nice twists and turns with amazing chemistry between Harmony and Chase. The dog is a great part of the story. I received an ARC copy of the book and this is my honest review.
The premise of this mystery is that Harmony Landing buys a hotel just because it's named Harmony Landing. There is a stipulation that she must allow the previous owner's nephew, Chase, to live and work at the hotel for the next ten years. What she soon finds out is that there was a murder in room 202 a few years ago and now the room is considered to be haunted. Putting her sleuthing hat on, Harmony is determined to solve the cold case murder and the mystery of the haunted room. I liked the hodgepodge of characters and the hotel by the ocean as the setting. I liked the hint of a romance between Harmony and Chase and the possibility of them co-owning the hotel in the future. I look forward to reading future books in the series to see what happened next in the lives of these characters.
Suite Lies and Alibis by Kristy T Dixon. (Harmony Landing Mysteries Book 1).
A cozy mystery story. A nice enough story with the usual suspects. In this case an outsider who buys an established business called the Harmony Landing and agrees to keep the nephew of the previous owner on the payroll as well as all the rest of the staff. The main character called Harmony Landing, yes, she has the same name as the hotel she just purchased gets involved in solving the murder of a guest 5 years ago. There is a slow burn romance with a hint of a business partnership in the next book(s) of the series. No real surprises for this genre. 3 stars.
Harmony saved enough money to buy the B&B that she was named after and stumbled into a murder mystery. The B&B was thought to be haunted after a woman died in a room since there were ticking clocks, TV turning on by itself and moving pictures. Chase, a man that gets to live in the house even though she is the owner, is the prime suspect to the murder. Chase and her start investigating and discover all the secrets behind the murder. Interesting start to the series.
Dixon delivers an entertaining cozy fit for any age. They are sweet, sex and swear free, and no gore. This is based more on personalities and action over atmosphere and deep character development but if you're looking for a stress free, feel good escape, this story fits the need perfectly. Though it was free on promotion, my views are honestly and freely given.
This is a sweet story with a five year cold case, grouchy old men, lunatic women, , plenty of them and a haunted room, to name a few things. It’s very well written, I could hardly put it down, it captured my interest easily and has a great ending. Completely clean
Hmm .. - buy hotel (site unseen and no inspection) - no experience - never looked at the books/operation (cost to run/maintain) - no clue what anyone was paid - no meeting with employees (not sure of their names) - no real plans
Yet, have time to try to solve a murder, hang out on the beach. Yeap.. realistic Lots of SMH - ER (eye rolling)

Absolutely love the book! I’m totally in love with all the characters in the book. Chase is wonderful. Troy is a doll and Harmony is a fun chick.. I will read more of Christie’s books. They are clean and funny and delightful and have a delicious mystery in them. I highly recommend this author.
I really enjoyed this book and will be looking out for more. The characters and the back story made it with the experience of a new person joining a place where everyone knows each other and the chaos caused as a result including the solving of a murder
Kristy T. Dixon is a phenomenal mystery writer. I love the characters she is developing and the story was great. I can't wait to read the next book in the Harmony Landing Mystery series.
This is an okay book, but personally, I believe young teenage girls would really enjoy this book. This became like a comedy by the time I finished reading.
