Vaping: Behind the Smoke and Fears

Rate this book
There are more than one billion smokers in the world and the vast majority will die prematurely because of their nicotine addiction. What most people don't know is that there is a vaping. Vaping is a non-toxic way to deliver the nicotine that people need without the disease-producing byproducts of burning tobacco. Compared with cigarettes, any health risks associated with vaping are very small. Yet incredibly, most tobacco control officials, public health organizations, and politicians view vaping as a threat, advocating for restrictions or outright bans. They have diverted public attention away from the benefits of vaping by greatly exaggerating the fears around youth vaping, creating unfounded concerns around nicotine, and blaming the tobacco industry for global deception. All this while neglecting cigarette smokers who have an incredible opportunity to improve their health. This anti-vaping crusade has been supported by well-funded disinformation campaigns that have left the public confused and smokers holding on to their cigarettes. Vaping must be recognized for what it is—a public health breakthrough that is urgently needed to save millions of lives.

I took this book out of curiosity, and I highlighted almost every chapter. This is informative. The author takes complex health studies and tells them that regular people can understand. One thing that was actually standing out was how many times the media stories abandon the major facts - such as volatile deaths in 2019 were due to illegal THC products, not Nicotine vape. It changes everything. I also liked tone: it's not defensive or push. Just balanced and fact-based. The author also challenges the idea that all teenage vaporing are dangerous, stating that experimenting does not always mean addiction. The best part is honesty. The book does not promise that Vapping is safe - only that it is more secure than smoking. And for many people, this is enough. I went away from this book, better informed, less frightened, and could have more real conversations. highly recommend!

This book does some rare - it considers the reader like an adult. It does not scream or shame. It just leaves the politics behind the fear of science, facts and vapor. I appreciated the section that explained how anti-vessel groups sometimes focus more on emotions than evidence. The writer never says that vaping is perfect - it is simply a loss in loss that helps real people quit smoking. The part that was the most with me when he said, "We do not ban the seat belt, because some people wear them wrong." This makes me think. Its role in chapter and addiction on nicotine was also attractive. This cleaned a lot of myths, which I had heard my whole life. I wish more books would be honest and clear. I would recommend it to others.

Before reading this book, I was confident that all the worst things about vaping are. This book helped me see what was real and what was afraid. The author only does not give opinion - he uses real studies and shows how sometimes the number is replaced in news articles. The interpretation of nicotine was one of my favorite parts. It is addictive, yes, but not fatal in fatal form. I liked the comparison of caffeine - which helped me understand it better. In addition, the book talks about young people, but it's not just nervousness - it looks at the real data. This is rare these days. I feel more confident after reading it and in my decisions. Read great!

A must read for anyone considering vaping. Up to three pack a day smoker with starting stages of Emphysema, bronchitis almost monthly , bad asthma all kinds of medications. Thirteen years of Vaping saved my life! From going to the doctor twice a month, to they are lucky to see me every year and half. Finally someone to put the real facts out there, Hope you will open the eyes of smokers to give vaping a chance. Also shame on Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, ect ect for putting fear instead of something clearly life saving!

This book opened my eyes. I have seen that a lot of news stories say that vaping is killing people, but I never realized that most of them were misleading. The author explains that most of the "vaporing deaths" were actually caused by Black-Market THC, not nicotine veps. It blew my mind. I also appreciated honesty about addiction - yes, nicotine is addictive, but it is not fatal as people think. The author is not saying that Vaping is perfect - it is safe than just smoking. I wish, more people read this book before judging. It is full of facts.

For decades, nicotine was synonymous with smoking deadly tobacco products. In this excellent book, Dr. Tyndall explains that much safer nicotine sources are now available to consumers. This presents a huge opportunity to decrease the disease, disability, and death caused by combustible tobacco. However, healthcare charities and public health organizations have failed to recognize this opportunity. Dr Tyndall calls upon his extensive personal experiences in harm reduction to add authenticity and human interest to the narrative.

As a former smoker, I switched to vaping and this book gave me piece of peace. It explains that vaping is more secure than smoking and why the media feels wrong. I particularly liked clarification about how scary headlines leave the major facts. It also talks about young people and removes some apprehensions. This book is based on facts, not fear. Also recommend to anyone confused about excessive vaping.

"Vaping: Behind the Smoke and Fear" is one of the best books I have read on public health. It does not use intimidation strategy. Instead, it gives facts from real studies and breaks them into everyday language. I believed that vaping was terrible, but this book showed me that most of what I had heard was diverted or excluded from reference. Comparison between smoking and vaping was particularly helpful - the risk is also not close. I learned a lot and now feel more confident in my choice.

I was so impressed with the author's empathetic approach. Instead of shaming smokers, he focuses on understanding nicotine addiction and providing a safer path forward. The comparison between public health's acceptance of other harm reduction strategies (like seatbelts) and its rejection of vaping is eye-opening. This book offers a compassionate and humane perspective that is desperately needed in the conversation about smoking.

He provides a solid, scientific foundation for why vaping is an effective and much safer alternative. This book changed my perspective entirely and is a powerful advocate for informed choice.

A book that discusses VAPING as a method of closing smoking is: behind smoke and fear. According to the author, smoking is quite dangerous, but vaping is safe as it does not emit any harmful substances as tobacco. Although Vepping can save life, the book explains how various medical institutions discourage it and create fear in people. This is wrong, according to the author, and people should know the truth. The book provides a different perspective on VAPING and is straight.

Finally, a book that explains vaping without drama. I appreciated how the writer breaks the study and media in peace. Nicotine is not the main killer in cigarettes, the science of it was really interesting. This is the kind of book that every smoker or anxious parents should read. It is not about advancing VAPING - it's about telling the truth.

Dr. Tyndall’s book is an honest and well-researched exploration of how vaping emerged and why it has been so controversial. The sections on the "moral panic" and the role of anti-vaping campaigns are particularly insightful. This book doesn't just provide information; it helps you understand the complex forces shaping our perceptions of health and risk.

If you have ever been confused with headlines about vaping, then read this book. Writers explain how media and health campaigns sometimes fold the facts or ignore the major details. I liked how he talks about the difference between "risk" and "relative risk" - this was something I had never understood before. The book uses real data and does not hide the truth. It assumes that Vaping is not 100% safe, but it makes it clear that it is more secure than cigarette smoking. I also liked how Vaping helped people quit smoking - with real stories and numbers. It is honest, smart and easy to follow.
