Keep coming back to Bleeding Hearts Valley to uncover more dark secrets. But before moving in remember, you can never trust your neighbors.
This was a very unique storyline that I really enjoyed, and the title fits the narrative perfectly because all of these characters are Unhinged.
When Owen and Kayleigh meet on a dating app, It initially feels like a match made in heaven to Kayleigh. Both of them have a troubled past & it doesn’t take long for their situation to spiral out of control. Both of these characters think they are being stalked by the other & I can’t tell you how many times I thought I had it figured out, yet I was wrong each and every time.
In addition to the very unique storyline, it touches on some sensitive topics such as mental illness and paranoia. It also shows how previous traumas can shape your outlook on situations you may encounter & cause you to see things that simply aren’t there. Don’t even bother reading the synopsis as it still can’t prepare you for how twisted the story goes and how deep everyone’s secrets & deception lies. Thank you to Danielle Fear for this ARC, all opinions are my own.
Damn. This book was fire! Unhinged by Danielle Fear is a wild, spiraling mind game told from multiple electrifying POVs, each one more unreliable than the last.
Danielle’s writing is razor-sharp—tense, immersive, and unnervingly intimate. She doesn’t just tell a story; she pulls you into the fractured psyches of her characters and dares you to look away. Every scene is laced with creeping dread, every chapter a ticking time bomb of suspense.
What begins as a dating app match morphs into a dark descent filled with paranoia, obsession, and the raw reality of mental health. The lines between truth and delusion blur fast—and just when you think you’ve caught your breath, it hits you with another twist so slick it leaves you stunned.
Unsettling in the best way, this isn’t just a thriller—it’s a psychological trap you won’t escape until the final page. And even then, you’ll be questioning everything.
Modern times call for modern solutions. Owen Bailey has recently moved to Bleeding Hearts Valley and his good friend CeeCee has decided he needs to put himself out there on a dating app. He makes a connection with Kayleigh and there is a spark. Things seem to be going well until Owen starts to see Kayleigh every time he leaves his house. Is it a coincidence or something more? Secrets rarely stay hidden and no one is safe from being tangled in the past.
The book alternates between several points of view with many chapters replaying a scene from a different character’s perspective. The change of focus reframes the scene and you start to question more and more what’s going on. I loved the way a scene took a complete turn just by looking at it from another angle. It’s a style that I have not seen much before, but I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this book and found it a perfect addition to my Danielle Fear collection. As usual, the writing is sharp and the twists are mind blowing. I would expect nothing less!
Let’s talk about Danielle Fear’s newest release, Unhinged!
OMG!!! I loved it! From the very first page, I was hooked and literally couldn’t put this book down. This story made me extra thankful to be married and not out exploring the dating world... it was that chilling and real.
I absolutely loved the multiple points of view. Getting inside both Kayleigh and Owen’s minds made the story feel even more gripping and personal, like I was right there living it with them. And let me just say… this book completely blew my mind.
This was my first time reading Danielle Fear, but it most definitely will not be my last. If you’re looking for a dark, addictive, twisty read that will keep you up all night, Unhinged is it!
Unhinged by Danielle Fear is an entertaining psychological thriller that takes you on a wild ride through the quest for love, experiences of constant fear, and the complexities of the human mind. I found myself so engrossed in the events that I completely forgot to think about any plot twists. I was just enjoying the story and constantly laughing! Don't get me wrong—it's a thriller, but the writing style makes it surprisingly light-hearted.
I absolutely love the concept behind this book! I've never encountered a story where both parties suspect each other of the same thing. It was just that good!
Owen moves to Bleeding Hearts Valley for a fresh start after a messy breakup. His coworker CC convinces him to register on a dating app, where he starts chatting with Kayleigh. However, she overwhelms him. Then Owen starts to notice that Kayleigh seems to be everywhere he goes... is she stalking him?
On the other hand, Kayleigh has lived in Bleeding Hearts Valley her entire life, so finding a fresh face on the dating app feels like an impossible mission. But there he is—Owen, new to town. Their conversations start off well but quickly fizzle out. Soon, Kayleigh realises that Owen is showing up everywhere she goes... is he stalking her?
Seriously, if you're looking for a thriller that you can breeze through without feeling emotionally drained at the end, definitely grab this one!
Owen is moving to bleeding hearts valley with a bruised heart and the hope that a new job in a new city will be the fresh start he so desperately needs. And leave it to his fast friend, CeCe, to give him the push he needs to forget his unlucky in love past and find his perfect match.
Kayleigh spends her days going through the motions of routines that keep her from quite literally spiraling. Her weekly visits to the clinic with Delia have even started to feel like some semblance of normalcy amidst her unstable and untrustworthy mind.
When these two singles ‘swipe right’ on one another, they expect maybe a few awkward dates to be the cost of hopefully finding their one true love. But their lived reality becomes a stark contrast as they start seeing way too much of each other. Especially considering they never even got around to that first date.
Is Kayleigh’s Bipolar Disorder as dormant as she leaves us readers to believe? Is she truly or conveniently everywhere Owen is by coincidence?
Is Owen’s story of his vile witch of an ex filled with facts or laced with deception? Is it possible he’s more responsible for the need to start fresh than he leads on?
Primarily told through Owen and Kayleigh’s perspectives, Unhinged by Danielle Fear is a fast paced whip-lash of emotions, messy thriller. A read for lovers of messy characters, small towns with big secrets and the poster child(ren) for unreliable narrators.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unhinged hooks you in right from the beginning! Owen Bailey recently moves to Bleeding Hearts Valley and has decided that he should try to put himself out there on a dating app. He comes across Kayleigh, making a quick connection with each other. Just as things seem to be going really well, Owen starts to see Kayleigh almost every time he leaves the house. Is this a coincidence or is Owen’s past following him where ever he goes? Secrets aren’t kept in the dark forever and things start to become unraveled.
The book mainly switches between the point of views of Owen and Kayleigh, recalling each scene in each of their own perspectives. With each chapter you question what is really going on. Is Owen following Kayleigh or is Kayleigh coincidentally seeing Owen around considering it’s a small town where everyone tends to know each other? I enjoyed the fact that each chapter made you rethink what is going on. This book really kept me on my toes!!
I really recommend this book for someone who is into thrillers and wants a who Dunn it kind of vibe! Can you guess what is really going on by the end of the book?

This story was a short and easy read. I liked the premise of the frustrations of the online dating apps. I also think the author did a pretty good job of approaching a main character with a diagnosis of mental health illness.
The downside for me was that the early part of the book was a bit repetitive. Without giving anything away, the chapters are sort of the same back and forth for quite awhile, and at times I hoped it would move a little faster. One other flaw (for me) was that it jumps to obsession with virtually little proof…did our male character not consider the idea that he had moved to a small area and that it was more than possible that a person on a dating app who was also local might possibly just live in the same area/neighboorhood?
Aside from that, the twist that came was definitely not what I anticipated…I thought I had it figured out- at least to some extent. Turns out, it went a completely different way than I expected and the author gets some kudos for throwing me way off track.
The title definitely rings true- the folks in these parts were most certainly unhinged.
I was forwarded an arc for this book prior to publication date. Thank you to the author #daniellefear for this arc of #unhinged. I wish you all the luck on this endeavor!
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Unhinged is a great short read that intrigued me early on. I loved the awareness brought to bipolar disorder and domestic abuse by the woman. “…it’s your life, and each decision made either manic or when low, offers its own consequences that you then have to deal with.” "I went to the police," I said, my eyes downcast. "But they didn't believe me. Said I should've been able to stop her."
I also enjoyed the aspect of the dating app and the reality of how hard it can be. “As shallow as it sounded, looks were clearly important when it came to online dating, what else was I supposed to judge on initially?”
I also enjoyed the dual perspective, with the point of view shifting from Owen to Kayleigh, showing their perspective on each scene. It was a bit repetitive but I feel as though it was necessary to really feel their dilemma. I personally didn’t care for the twist at the end, I was expecting something else but that’s just me. It did make it hard for me to finish though. ARC READER but I was not paid or coerced into writing this review.
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Wow!! This book is one of those books you can't put down!! I love how it's told from each person's point of view. The ending!! Oh my god!! I did not see that coming!! I am really hoping there is a follow up book that tells Rachel's story!! What a great, quick read!! I absolutely loved it
Wow! It's 4am and I am awake because I couldn't put this book down! I kept saying "one more page" until I ran out of pages. Now, my mind it too wired to sleep!
I want to thank Danielle Fear - Author for giving me the opportunity to read her new book, Unhinged. This really was a pleasure!
This book is so full of assumptions and paranoia that I started to feel it myself! I love these crazy characters. I have to say that Unhinged must be the most perfect title ever! Unhinged is the best word to describe this story! I can't count how many "whats" and "reallys" went through my mind while reading this. Are those even words? 🤔 Who knows, I'm sleep deprived!
This book will be available on July 1st!!! Mark your calendars! 📅
At first this seemed so clear cut, a misunderstanding and coincidences that piled up to make two separate people each think they’re being stalked. Each person becoming more and more paranoid as time goes by. The FMC who suffers from bi-polar disorder, the MMC who was wrongfully accused of being a domestic abuser and fears his ex is out to get him. - I was invested in this story and then in the final 20% of it, things got wild!! So many different things happened that it was kind of like getting whiplash and I’m not sure if it was too much at once or not, but it was super crazy! Def not expecting how everything came to a head in this story!
I was hooked from the very first page I read! All the twists and turns keeps you guessing what's happening next. And trust me you won't figure it out because I tried multiple times and always something shook it up changing what happened. The characters Kayleigh and Owen meet on a dating app one trying to find their someone the other giving it a chance but not ready to take the plunge. Things start out great then everything crumples as soon as it started and everything spirals from there. The author's writing keeps you hooked from the very beginning. The ending was so surprising and I hope there will be another story to add to the ending.
Had the opportunity to read this as an ARC before the publishing date.
This was a quick, easy read that I was able to get through in an hour. Even though it was repetitive for a lot of the book, I did enjoy the back-and-forth paranoia, because who hasn't had thoughts that they were being followed by someone in their life?
The area where it lost me was the end. It was very twisty, which I usually love. But this felt very left-field and almost rushed to tie up an ending. I finished it with a "huh okay" feeling when it was done.
The wild freakin ride this book will take you on!! When PTSD meets Bi-Polar meets paranoia in a blender that is a small town, with a dating app......chaos will ensue! Just when you think everything is going to smooth over, and everyone's going to jave a good laugh........BAM......you're bashed in the face with a Muhammad Ali 1-2 punch, and the KO comes at the very end, in a left hand NO ONE saw coming! Please tell me this is gonna be duet because holey freaking twisty turney ill be stewing about this one for a while!!!
“Unhinged” by Danielle Fear, is a tense and twisty psychological thriller that dives deep into mental health, especially bipolar disorder. Kaleigh thinks Owen is stalking her—but Owen believes she’s stalking him. The result is a gripping story full of paranoia, suspicion, and shocking turns. Danielle Fear handles mental illness with sensitivity while keeping readers on edge until the very end. A must-read for fans of dark, mind-bending suspense!
Unhinged is a psychological spiral where coincidence masquerades as obsession. Two lives collide through a string of chance encounters, each convinced they’re being followed by the other—until paranoia becomes its own kind of fate. Danielle Fear handles the subject of mental illness with thoughtful sensitivity, all while maintaining a gripping tension that keeps readers guessing until the very end.
I will be recommending this book to all my friends once it hits the shelves!!
Unhinged is a dark and gripping psychological thriller. Kayleigh and Owen’s story is unsettling, emotional, and full of tension—blurring the line between love, obsession, and paranoia. Danielle Fear masterfully draws you into the characters’ fragile minds, making you experience their fear, doubt, and desperation. Twisty, haunting, and impossible to put down—this is a must-read for anyone who loves psychological suspense!
I'm 17 chapters in, and it just seems quite repetitive. I wish there was more happening besides each person thinking the other was stalking them.. Maybe I need to continue to give it more time, but unfortunately, I am struggling to get through it.

Wow what an amazing roller coaster ride. There are so many highs and lows with twists and turns, you have no idea what’s coming next. And let me tell you, I didn’t see that ending coming at all. Such a great book from different perspectives showing you both sides of the story.
Unhinged is a dual POV, tension-filled story following a handful of characters. Seeing the paranoia and unraveling from both sides really places the reader right inside the mind of each character, making them wonder what the truth really is...
This tale took a turn that I didn't anticipate! I was completely invested in Owen and Kayleigh's story, and when things got twisty I got more and more excited! Highly recommend and will be reading more of this author's work!
Quick read. This is about two people who meet on a dating app and they both believe the other is following or stalking them. One ends up dead but who does it and why?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was a little bit of a different thriller but overall a fast paced page turner with lots of twists and turns! I truly enjoyed this read and the characters POVs. The dual POVs were very easy to follow as the story unfolded. The writing of this book was also a job well done! If you’re looking for a quick book to read in one sitting, look no further! 🤯
I read this as an ARC, and I was really intrigued! The style was something I haven’t seen a lot- where you are seeing the situation from two peoples point of view and how they both make a lot of assumptions. This did not go in the direction j was expecting at all- I was totally surprised by the twist and even though I did suspect one of the twists, it kept twisting and twisting in different ways and surprising me each time. I loved all the twists and honestly, this title is so fitting, because you will be thinking it the whole time!
