Parts were really good, but some parts weren’t. Yet another family member who objects to the O’Sheeran’s and it doesn’t make sense!
I love this series but it’s the same story in every book. The mfc always has family that really hate the O’Sheeran’s and hate the mfc being with one of them. It’s bizarre. This one was even worse as Gianna’s brothers all actively hate Rian. WHY??? It doesn’t make sense! The mfc always thinks that she’s not from their world and that they shouldn’t be together, and that the men should be with someone from their social circle. Erm… Gianna knows about the O’Sheeran’s so she knows that all the men have married normal women, yet she still goes on about it. 🥱
Gianna and Rian met in the previous book, as her and her family are bounty hunters and track down evil people like the O’Sheeran’s do. Gianna is a strong capable woman who has three brothers and her dad who she works with. I liked Gianna. Rian is the younger brother to Darragh and I wasn’t so sure about him at first. As he likes to ‘think things through’ so it takes him ages to decide to pursue Gianna. For four months they really like each other but neither of them makes a move, and it’s boring. I thought the whole point of the ‘anamchara’ was that they knew straight away that the person was theirs. Rian likes to think things over, and decide but it took FOUR MONTHS for him to decide about Gianna! He was still ‘thinking’ about it when he finds out that Gianna is out looking for a man, and it finally pushes him to make a move! Finally! Even if Rian didn’t believe in soulmates, four months is a long time to not make a move on someone. Eventually they’re together, but then Gianna’s brothers cause problems as they’re convinced for some bizarre reason that Rian is only using Gianna for s*x. It’s bizarre and it doesn’t make any sense.
There’s some danger and excitement which was really good, a bit rushed at the ending though. I did really enjoy this one even with the above negatives. As Rian is Darragh’s younger brother, he’s not as deferential to him and I liked it more.

I absolutely love this new instalment in the Covenant of Ascent: O'Sheerans. Gianna and Rian met in the previous book and Ryan definitely put his foot in his mouth when he met her. Although part of this happens because of how attracted he is to her.
Gianna has proved she is more than a capable female who works as a bounty hunter with her three brothers and father. It kind of throws Rian for a loop but he's the deliberate one who doesn't jump into things. He prefers to take time to deliberate over things and after meeting Gianna it is no different.
Gianna and Rian meet again in his family's club and that's when he cannot fight his feelings any longer. He then admits to Gianna that he would like to pursue a relationship stating she is his anamcara. They both decide to pursue a relationship but problems arise when Gianna's family do not agree with this relationship.
I love that Gianna is a strong female who isn't willing to give up her job with her family just because she's now with Rian. She gives Rian a run for his money and he cannot get enough of her. The both of them have to work together to prove to her family that this relationship is for reel and how much they love each other.
It was another great instalment in this series and I'm left wanting more from Ciara St. James!

Totally tough with a heart of gold
Rian's Pursuit (O'Sheeran Family Book 5) by Ciara St. James is a fantastic read with another tough and total hottie in female form, and Rian is smitten unlike any woman before.
For this book, you gotta hang onto your hat because this is a wild ride. Gianna isn't easy to win over, and the back and forth between this couple is fascinating to read.
As any reader fan of this author knows, Rian, in true alpha fashion, does not take no for an answer. His persistence and determination are swoon-worthy and when Gianna finally shows her soft heart, I adored her even more.
While their relationship is getting underway, their world is not smooth sailing. There's trouble seemingly around every corner, not to mention within Gianna's family. The resolution, though? Pure satisfaction in so many ways.
Overall, with glimpses into the other O'Sheeran's lives and HEAs, there's never a dull moment in this book. Fast action, tons of heat, and overflowing heart round out this mafia romance and the ultimate HEA.

I feel like this one took me forever to read, 3 days, which is forever for me. I normally can knock out a book in this series in one evening, but for some reason I kept putting this one down. Could really only read it when I was waiting in line or exercising. I don't know why that is, I liked Gianna, liked how Rian pursued her and how she was welcomed to the family with open arms. But her family, mostly her brothers, they were huge POS's, that had to be put in their place, not once, not even twice, but so many times. It got old. I was glad when both Gianna, her father and Rian all ripped them a new one, they had it coming, especially the one.
It was fun to see Gianna figure out a way to keep doing what she was good at and use those skills to help both families. Getting to the bottom of what was going on in CO was interesting, didn't see the reason coming. The drama at the end that was due to Gianna's job was crazy and a bit blood thirsty, but so deserved to the bad guy.

not much of a story
I found it odd that Gianna and Rian never had a conversation yet Rian considered her his soulmate. He felt that way because he thought she was attractive and what she did for a living was amazing. I don’t think it was ever mentioned why she fell for him. They met 1 time and were not nice to each other and didn’t speak or see each other for 4 months. I eventually became interested in the story but was disappointed when they felt they had to get rid of the Glades Defense Force. They supposedly were good guys trying to save the Everglades and were misled that the O’Sheerans were bad guys. Although they were told to kidnap someone- and one guy didn’t want to- made me question their purpose. I actually felt bad for the one guy. He thought they were saving the Everglades. I really didn’t see much of a story. It was mostly how angry her brothers were about the relationship.

What a ride this one was! Rian is the deliberate O'Sheeran. He doesn't jump into anything without examining it from all angles. Finding his soulmate was no different. When he meets Gianna, a bounty hunter who works hand in hand with her brothers and father, he is attracted but cautious. Gianna was very similar, having never had such a strong reaction to a man. Certain that they were from two very different universes, that he would never be interested in an ordinary woman, she tried to move on. Little did she know that Rian couldn't stop thinking about her. Once they enter into the beginnings of a relationship, there was no turning back. Watching such an intelligent, competent, and confident woman enthrall a man like Rian, be welcomed into the family and never look back was amazing! I loved every minute with this incredible couple!!

Wow...this book was dynamite in a cover. These two met under business circumstances 4 months ago, both felt the attraction but Rian waited to make sure she was his true soul mate. As she started to try to move forward, he made his move and she agreed to try a relationship with him. Her family objected harshly, especially one brother. The only thing in the book I thought would develop into something else was Rians dream. He thought he might have "the sight" from his grandmother but then nothing else about that. I thought the author could have used this later in the book when they were dealing with an enemy. But it didn't take anything away from the book at all. I hope the author writes Giannas pregnant friends book someday. This was a great book and 5 stars on the hot scale.

More OSheeren Gold!
Ahhh the newest OSheeren book has hit my Kindle & I am in heaven! Rian & Gianna are perfect together. We saw foreshadowing of the match in the last book & as usual, Ciara St James does NOT disappoint! I loved the fact that both of them took the time to think everything through before the fireworks began. And oh boy, were there fireworks! From her brothers’ disapproval to the idiot who makes the biggest mistake of his miserable life by going after Gianna, this book was spot on. I fell more in love with the entire OSheeren family. This book was perfect & I can’t wait for the next installment!

Rian isn't the normal O'Sheeran he's not rash or quick making decisions. This even holds true in finding his solemate he took his time making sure Gianna was the one, and when he did, his goal was winning her over. Gianna didn't see Rian coming she never dreamed he'd fall for her. These two together are a force you don't want to miss with. Rian found a loyal, strong, badass woman. I love this family and can't wait for the next book. If you like Mafia and a strong woman, this is a series you need to read

This was a great continuation of the O”Sherron family. Rian and Gianna met and made last impressions on each other. They both want to get to know the other,but both are hesitant. When Gianna’s family is asked to join the O’Sherron family business as independent contractors, they take a vote and agree to do it. They work well as a group, but Rian and Gianna are hit and miss when they come together for work.
They both finally agree to see where this will go, but have some backlash from her brothers. Together they are forming lasting bonds with each other and their families. When her past comes after her, Rian and his family along with her family come together to take out the threat to her. They finally settle into a good rhythm with both work and family. Their love continues to grow stronger with each new day.

I was disappointed in this book. It was very predictable so that you knew quite early who the "bad guy" was and also what the the brothers' reactions would be. I didn't think the main characters had much chemistry between them. And the book had more than the usual share of wrong words, misused words, etc. meaning the editing left something to be desired. I read the book because I've enjoyed the O'Sheeran saga thus far but I doubt I'll buy any more.

No matter what book I read by Ciara St.James I am never disappointed. Each of her series brings the reader what they are looking for in a book.

A great read!
Ciara has done it again, she hit the ball out of the park with a home run. Rian and Gianna are completely perfect for one another. This book was stimulating steamy moments. I love the family scenes when they are all together with siblings and cousins teasing each other. I am really enjoying this series.

Love love love! Love a badass female. Especially one who isn’t afraid of getting dirty. Ciara St James doesn’t disappoint. She brought the action in & out of the bedroom with these two! Don’t hesitate to reads this series. It’s worth it.

Wow this book was awesome the whole series is!! I am putting Rian as my favorite so far. I loved him with Gia they both were badass and I loved all drama that was going on. I specifically love the whole soulmate deal. Can't wait to see who is next

July 4, 2025This was a struggle to finish. Took me 4 days to read a relatively short book. Some parts were good and some not. I kept reading because I really enjoy this series and wanted to see what happens. Idk what it is with this author. Her books are hit or miss for me.

Ah Irish love

The storyline was fast paced and interesting and the characters were great. There were a few times I wanted to strangle one of her brothers and it was great seeing her Dad supporting her.

I loved this one. It was so different from the others and I can't wait for more. I love this series. I want books for her brothers too.

I like all the O'Shearean books. This one was #2 on my like of this series. Thank you for all the wonderful books.
