Friends. Allies. Lovers? Jackson Freeling lost his sense of purpose when he left the marines. Lissa McLaughlin gave him a new one: protecting a man with the ability to forge weapons from his tattoos. Together, they defend the innocent from the criminals vying for control of their city's drug trade. Lissa inked those tattoos. After watching her friend risk losing a piece of himself every time he used his powers, she decided to suppress her own strange gift. But, without quite understanding how, she has given Jackson a tattoo that lets him become invisible... While Jackson and Lissa do their best to save their ally, they also fight the growing passion between them. Everyone they care about is in danger. And they have to decide whether their feelings for each other are a strength or a deadly weakness. With this sequel, Misty Simon continues the bewitching tale she began with her urban fantasy debut, Wicked Ink.
Jackson needed a purpose and thanks to Lissa… He found it.. Protecting a man who protects the innocent. It’s not an easy job but well worth it.
Lissa is a tattoo artist… She can bring out special powers in some people… Just like Garrett but she sees the cost of what she gave and has been suppressing her own abilities.. Until she accidentally gives Jackson the ability to become invisible.
This doesn’t stop the runaway attraction between the two of them and with everyone in danger, it still doesn’t keep their passion at bay.
Well well well!! There is a woman… Trying to take my Jackson? The gloves are OFF! Haha!
I loved the chemistry between Lissa and Jackson, their attraction fizzled right off the page! I loved how the book was its own entity (you could read as a standalone) but still tied everything in with continuity and grace! Epically done.
I think the storyline was unique and I really enjoyed the more magical aspects in this book. It felt super charged and exciting! It was really well paced with excellent character development…
My biggest beef…. There isn’t a book 3 :( major bummer!! I liked this one just a smidge more than wicked ink because Jackson was the focal point but all in all I loved book books.

Thank you @mistysimons for my gifted copy of your book and for the wonderful author chat we had. She is hilarious so come watch us having a lively chat.
Wow book two was as good as one . I want a book three. Loved these characters want to know more about them. The story was so good too. The romance was sweet. The marine gets the girl. Bad drug dealers taken down. Yeah.
What an amazing premise. I read the first book in the series (Wicked Ink) and loved that book. Ms. Simon has a wonderful way of creating real, likeable characters with witty dialogue and intriguing plot. Jackson and Lissa have awesome chemistry and their story unfolds with mystery, friendship, then sizzling heat. My only complaint -- I read it too fast! I truly devoured this book! Can't wait for the next one in the series.
