I went into this expecting a story driven primarily by spice, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover far more substance beneath the surface. The chemistry is undeniable and the tension simmers throughout, yet it is the intrigue, emotional complexity, and unraveling mystery that truly kept me turning the pages. Although there are subtle mafia undertones throughout, I found the themes and emotional struggles surprisingly relatable. Overall, this was a compelling, addictive, and thoroughly entertaining read that kept me invested from beginning to end.

I went into Kitten expecting a spicy billionaire romance, but I ended up enjoying it for more than just the romance.
The story follows Lily, who’s trying to rebuild her life after unimaginable loss, and Damon Cross, a powerful billionaire who’s spent years convincing himself that control is easier than vulnerability. When their lives collide, what starts as a mutually beneficial arrangement slowly turns into something much more complicated.
One thing I really appreciated was that this wasn’t just page after page of spice. Yes, the chemistry between Damon and Lily is undeniable, but there was also an emotional thread running through the story that kept me invested. Watching Damon slowly let his guard down and Lily regain pieces of herself made their journey feel meaningful.
I also liked that, despite the billionaire backdrop, the characters still felt surprisingly grounded. They talked about ordinary things, carried real emotional baggage, and their conversations helped them feel like actual people rather than larger-than-life romance characters.
The pacing made this an easy book to fly through. Every chapter gave me enough to keep reading, and before I realized it, I was almost at the end.
The only reason this wasn’t a five star read for me is that I found the beginning a little rushed. Their relationship develops very quickly, and I would’ve loved a little more time watching that initial connection build. I also felt the ending wrapped up faster than I expected. After everything that happened, I wanted just a little more time with them before saying goodbye.
Even so, I had a great time with this book.
It was emotional, addictive, steamy, and balanced those elements better than I expected. If you enjoy possessive heroes, emotionally guarded billionaires, and romances that mix chemistry with a bit of mystery and emotional healing, I think this is well worth picking up.
I’ll definitely be reading more from Emily Saxon.

If you’re looking for a quick, spicy read with an obsessed alpha hero and a curvy heroine, this novella delivers exactly what it promises.
The romance definitely falls into the insta-love category, and under normal circumstances it would have felt rushed. However, considering this is a novella at only around 160 pages, the pacing actually makes sense. The story gets to the point quickly without spending pages on unnecessary filler.
The spice is plentiful, with steamy scenes appearing throughout almost every chapter, and they were surprisingly well written. The chemistry between the characters felt genuine, and the author did a great job making the intimate moments feel engaging rather than repetitive.
What impressed me most was that there was still a solid plot underneath all the spice. The characters had more depth than I expected from such a short story, and both the MMC and FMC felt developed enough for me to become invested in their relationship. The alpha male hero becomes completely devoted very quickly, while the down-on-her-luck, full-figured heroine is easy to root for.
The writing style flowed well, the plot felt thoughtfully planned, and the story accomplished a lot within a relatively short page count.

Kitten is a great starter into the world of subtle Mob style romance. The characters have great depth and you are able to learn about what makes them tick. It also creates a great depth to the story.
I also really enjoyed that the plot and how the characters reacted were believable, even if it had a billionaire subtext. The author left a very human touch in the story. The story also followed a nice arc. Nothing seemed to slow or to fast until… The height of all the action was great. I felt the aftermath was a bit rushed. I would have liked to see a bit more near the end, it definitely would have brought a 5 star out of me.
Lily, the main character felt very relateable, a bookworm that just wanted a step up in life, as so many struggle lately. I enjoyed that this was an escape from some hardships. I was completely able to sink myself into this book.
I truly love that this was a quick page turner. With just the right amount of spice however this is not quite the kink it promises to be. This is a well worth the read.

This one was good, not great for me. The mafia undertones and the very spicy energy absolutely delivered, but the character depth felt off. Too much page time went to Damon’s enemies and his ex, which pulled focus from the relationship I actually cared about.
Damon is the kind of OTT MMC who’s all ice and control. He’s a billionaire who’s been betrayed enough times to trust no one. And then Lily shows up: soaked, jobless, homeless, and still somehow soft and hopeful. The moment he sees her outside his mansion, something in him shifts.
He offers her shelter… but with conditions. Damon wants her under his roof, under his rules, his completely. Lily’s sweetness against his cold, possessive intensity is addictive, and watching her warmth chip away at his walls is the emotional core I wanted more of.

Kitten is a well-rounded Novella, plenty of spice, has a solid plot and even has a layer of suspense/action.
The spice was pretty good, the MMC Damon has quite the dirty mouth and I was so here for it. Then you mix that with his desire to care for FMC Lily. It kept me turning those pages.
~ “Will you be mine? My woman? My pretty little kitten to f**k senseless whenever I desire?” Lily wrapped her fingers around his muscled wrist, knowing that her life would change forever with her next word. “Yes.”
I love a good story with a “bed companion” trope and Kitten is no exception! Something Saxon included within the plot was the importance of trying to find oneself. I won't spoil any of it, but the character development throughout this book made me fall for this couple even more.
Looking forward to the next book by Saxon.
Luca Rossi was a great character in Kitten, and I am very excited to see he is getting his own story!

I quite enjoyed this romance book. Damon is the kind of alpha hero I enjoy reading about and Lily is a sweet heroine. I like how she didn’t care about Damon’s money and wanted to better herself.
The household staff are also great characters and I love how they supported Damon and Lilly.
I thought that Damon’s sudden proposition to Lilly was too quick and I would have liked him to get to know Lilly and her him a bit more before starting their relationship. Also Damon tells Lilly thy will be in a relationship but wants her to have her own room. That was a bit rude of him lol.

I really enjoyed this book, such a little gem to make you blush but also swoon.
It’s a quick read that makes you crave more!
I enjoyed both characters, and it was lovely to see how their relationship develops while they both live pretty normal lives, talking about school, politics, books etc..I found that quite relatable.
There’s spice and drama, but at the same time I found it different from the standard billionaire/ mafia romance, and more “down to earth” in a good way 😊

I so loved this novella so much. It was a insta-attraction, insta-lust, with mafia undertones.
The storyline was great and flowed well. The MMC and FMC's characters were surprisingly developed for a novella. The chemistry and spice was great as well.

Kitten by Emily Saxon was a delightful quick read about a lily who is down on her luck and agrees to an affair with Damon. Lily is completely trusting just like a kitten but Damon is not. Lily is easy to like and Damon is easy to understand. The story flows well and is easy to read. Nicely done and highly enjoyable.

Down on her luck Lily is found in the rain, cold and feeling despondent by Damon. This is a great story; some parts didn't set really well with me - but overall, it is a great story. There of course some drama with Luca and of course some misunderstandings, a kidnapping, all very entertaining. Plus, the book has built great characters. Well worth the read!

I liked Kitten, but I felt like the beginning of the plot was rushed. The relationship started so sudden, within 24 hrs. she slept with him, I just thought it may have needed a few days. aside from that I really liked their chemistry and how crazy he was about her even though he kept pretending otherwise. I liked their HEA and how she grew as a character and wanted more out of life.

Meet Damon and Lily. He’s a billionaire. She is starting from scratch after tragedy. These two enter into an arrangement and things take off from there! From the first line I was pulled into this story. The dynamics and characters were so well written. These two were so relatable, and chemistry was fantastic! New author for me and I’m a fan. Spice is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and stars are 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
