I appreciate the opportunity to read this ARC. I was excited to read and hopefully support a new author, but unfortunately was let down.

The book starts off advising this will be one of the darkest books you’ve ever read, and then turns into a Scooby Doo mystery novel. “There’s a person in dark glasses, he must be the bad guy” style…..

Relationships form out of thin air. Major plot twists or what should be arcs in the story are casually dropped in a single sentence. Holes in the story the size of craters. “Whilst” I forced myself to complete it, in case some major plot twist came in to save the day, I wish I hadn’t wasted my time. This is not a dark novel. This is not a well written novel. This is not a good story. This is not for me.

I received this advance reader copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, the book falls short in several key areas: narrative cohesion, depth, character development, and tonal consistency.

Marketed as “one of the darkest thrillers you may ever read,” it instead reads more like a parody, cringeworthy rather than chilling. Dialogue feels juvenile, more fitting for teenagers than the adult characters portrayed. The protagonist, Rosemarie, consistently fails to act with urgency or logic despite being in apparent danger. Critical information is withheld from authorities and allies with no plausible reason, undermining both her credibility and the stakes of the story.

Supporting characters are equally unconvincing. Vance’s repetitive proclamations of “I am here to protect you” and Clara’s implausible behavior as a child psychologist strain believability. The plot twists lack impact; both the stalker and the mastermind are easily identified early on, leaving little room for suspense. Only the motive offers a hint of novelty, but it's not enough to carry the story. Even the ending defies logic, particularly given how wildly off Rosemarie's intuition had been—but we’ll ignore that. I literally fell asleep multiple times while reading.

The romance element, which is supposedly central, is completely underdeveloped. We're told this is a grand love story, yet the narrative provides no emotional arc to support that claim.

Lastly, the author noted that the ARC is still under editorial revision to address grammatical, developmental, and structural flaws. This raises a valid concern: How can an ARC be fairly reviewed if its foundational elements are incomplete or subject to major change?

In its current form, this book is not ready for readers, early or otherwise.

I was so excited to get my ARC copy of this book. The description had me really excited and I was really expecting to enjoy it. It had a good plot, but at times it felt like there was just extra and unnecessary stuff thrown in. I was able to predict "who done it" fairly quickly. I also expected it to be a lot darker than it was after reading all the trigger warnings. One of the things I couldn't get past and that probably kept me from enjoying it as much as I would have liked to was the grammar errors, missing words and misspelled words throughout the entire book.

I received this as an ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

I do not take any joy in saying I did not enjoy this.

I found the story basic and predictable, but the writing appalling with grammatical and syntax errors everywhere.
I do wonder if English is not the author's first language because that may explain some of the absolute clunkers scattered throughout the book.

There are also more than a few errors that would have been remedied with basic research into the language of film, event management, police work, psychology and crime.

I can't help but feel this just needs a really good edit and another couple of passes over it.

It takes a tremendous amount of work to write a novel, and the author's marketing plan is well designed; more time spent polishing the product would set them up well.

I wish them all the best for the future.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a major letdown from start to finish. The premise: an actress with a stalker forced to hire a bodyguard - that had potential. The execution: shallow and frustrating.
Rosemarie, the lead, never feels like a fully fleshed-out character. Her emotional depth is paper-thin, and I never truly believed in her fear or stakes. The threats against her are so bland and non-threatening that it’s hard to call this a dark suspense novel at all. At no point did I genuinely believe her life was in danger. There’s simply no tension or escalation of threats, they plateaued immediately, I wasn’t once scared for her. It’s like the book was afraid to go dark, despite the premise practically begging for it… and the authors note claiming, and I quote:
“It is one of the darkest thrillers you may ever read with psychological thrilling elements and contains MANY content warnings.”, then calls it “unhinged” (Um, where was this darkest thriller I may ever read? Bc “unhinged” didn’t follow that note)
Clara was insufferable, and don’t get me started on her baffling behavior as a so-called child psychologist. The scene where she casually “diagnoses” ADHD in a traumatised toddler after five minutes is not only inaccurate, it’s downright irresponsible. It genuinely reads like the author skimmed a psychology blog once and decided that was enough research.
Then there’s Jenny, the mother of the child, who veers between neglectful and totally clueless. Her reactions feel disjointed, and her relationship with Clara is messy in a way that doesn’t feel intentional or insightful, just underwritten.
Now, the romance subplot? It technically happens, but there’s no chemistry, no build-up, and no payoff. No tension there either. I have literally nothing to say about it because I was so unattached to the characters.
Now, I understand that this is an unfinished copy, I’ve read over 50 ARCS, both trad and indie, this year. (I don’t review them all on my personal Goodreads) I expect errors in ARCS (finding errors are part of why arcs exist!) but the author posted she was starting to finish up edits about 6 hours before ARCS were sent out, and you can REALLY tell. but I’ve never read an ARC that had writing THIS riddled with errors and typos. It's hard to take a book seriously when the MOST basic of proofreading (let alone editing) hasn’t been done. Also, the word “whilst” is used 52 times, often incorrectly.
The concept had promise, but everything from the character development to the dialogue to the editing feels rushed and unfinished. I can only hope this goes through many more drafts, because it’s not ready for publication, and this is the last time i accept an ARC from a cold DM from an author with a more than questionable threads presence.

I received this book as an ARC and, in exchange, I will provide an honest review.

Summary: This is the story of Rosemarie Chambers, a Hollywood actress who finds herself with a stalker. She hires a bodyguard and tries to figure out who is responsible.

Characters: Rosemarie is alright but I don’t find that her character is developed enough. Her sister Clara is insufferable in my opinion. Vance is just there and says protect every 5 minutes.

Storyline: Unfortunately, I didn’t find that I could feel the fear that the character should have during the story. I was expecting something darker for sure. The threats don’t really escalate, I never thought her life was actually in danger.

I think the second part was the one that made me more frustrated. The interaction between Clara and Jenny didn’t make much sense. The things Clara says as a child psychologist don’t seem well researched (you definitely don’t diagnose ADHD on a 3 yo kid that has been sequestered for 5 months after 5 minutes in their company). Jenny appears to be a very clueless mother.

The romantic relationship happened but without really building up.

The book, hopefully, will be revised before being released as there were a fair amount of spelling mistakes and typos. The word « whilst » is overly used.

I think the general idea was good but needs to be refined a bit more.

I was one of the very fortunate ones to have received and advanced copy of this book and got to read it before it came out to the public. You can tell that the author truly poured her heart and soul into this book, and that she really worked so hard on it.
Loved:
*Keeps you guessing - it's not apparent right away who the stalker is, and you think you have it figured out and realize that you don't.
*Slow burn - I had so many times where I just was like "OMG JUST DOOOOO ITTTTTTTTTT!!!", and I mean that in the most positive way possible!
*The characters are well developed and complicated. They have depth and don't feel surface level superficial.
*The author actually took feedback from her readers and made adjustments to some of the book. Like what?! Love that so much.

I didn't give it five stars - but not because I thought the book was bad. Like I mentioned above, Jayde listened to feedback that was sent to her and did make some changes from what I read on her social pages for ARC readers. So what I read and what will ultimately be on shelves is going to be slightly different and actually improved! So while it wasn't a heart stopping "I am madly in love with this book" feeling for me, I believe that a lot of people will really enjoy this book and think that it's definitely worth the read.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It really pains me to say this, as I’m not the type of reader who easily DNFs a book, but I had to force myself to get to the 33% mark and just could not continue.

The amount of grammatical errors, incorrect expressions, gaps and even completely illogical jumps in the storyline made it incredibly difficult to try and enjoy this book.

The premise of the plot is great but it is rather poorly executed.

I received this ARC for an honest review- I was so excited to read since thrillers and darker books are one of my favorite genres. I forced myself to finish though but I really struggled. Although advertised as a very dark stalker romance but it gave Scooby Doo vibes. The writing felt very elementary. Basic sentences lacking structure or on the other hand long run on wordy sentences. The flow just wasn’t there for me.

Thank you to the author for sending me an advanced copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited to receive a copy of The Secret Stalker. The premise of the story was intriguing, the social media hype up generated a real buzz of anticipation, and whoever said “never judge a book by its cover” clearly doesn’t appreciate this cover’s eye-catching design. I love psychological thrillers and was excited by the thought of spending a weekend reading this story. That being said, I was very disappointed. It was marketed as a dark psychological thriller and I got to page 160/45% through the book before finally deciding to DNF. I found the FMC unrelatable, and in place of dark disturbing twists, I got whiplash from how quickly we were going from scene to scene (usually A-lister events, being on movie sets, or doing other rich celebrity things like "going to my mansion") with no build up or reasoning. For these reasons, it read more like teenage fanfic than a dark psychological thriller. I’m sure this book is perfect for some readers, as indicated by the many great reviews here, but I’m not one of them.

Loved every minute of this ride! I struggled to put down this read as I longed to chase the Stalker through the pages. My need to know who they were out ruled my desire to watch TV or play video games. I longed to find out how the stalker knew where Rosemarie was. How she was navigating her personal situation with her professional career. I needed to know what was going to happen next and if the police were actually helping her. I needed to know how the story was going to end. My theories often changed at different page turns, while some remained steadfast. The major twist, I had an inkling sitting in the back of my mind and can now see the breadcrumbs that were laid within the chapters.

Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC.

When your sense of security gets violated and compromised what do you do? The ex boyfriend? The ex-coworker? Or her ex boss? The security guard she hired?

The paranoia of not knowing who
the stalker is definitely was well portrayed.

Crazy to see my dogs name spelled correctly in the book. Dr Rayne. Funny coincidence.

Loved how the author did a part 1 and 2 from different character angles and POVs. There were definitely a lot of grammar and spelling issues throughout but it didn’t take away from on the story enough for me to take offense. I didn’t realize who the kidnapper was until the very end.

I’m glad Christopher got in trouble with all of the allegations from those women he SAed over the course of time.

Really shocked it was Ava. It makes sense though. Rosemarie should have gone to the police after she got away from Lewis but it is all understandable.

I’m so happy I was apart of the ARC team on this one. Happy with the ending. I wish Rosemarie and Vance had more romance throughout but it was light and refreshing.

First, I would like to say thank you to Jayde Collins for sending me this ARC, and allowing me to read it in exchange for my honest review.

I have to say that I really struggled with many aspects of the book, including grammatical errors, disjunct content, high frequency of metaphorical language that overwhelmed the narrative, and unrelatable characters.

Grammatical errors: The book has poor sentence structure, word order, and word choice. There are many punctuation errors, overuse of the same word, and excessive use of ellipses (in the first half of the book, which mysteriously disappear in part 2). The part that stands out the most, though, is the verb tense inconsistency. Almost every sentence begins in past tense and ends in either present or future tense.

Disjunct content: One chapter opens with the FMC fuming that she knew this character was lying as soon as he opened his mouth…but they hadn’t even entered the building yet. The very next sentence is a description of the FMC arriving at the office, a description of the office, a description of the FMC’s sister’s job and dating history, an interaction with the secretary, and finally speaking with the person that she mentioned pages ago.

Overuse of metaphors: Nearly every sentence has a metaphor. Many of these metaphors felt forced or unclear, which disrupted the emotional tone of the scene. “So deeply exposed that I felt like a prey to a haunting predator.”

Unrelatable characters: The dialogue and behavior of the characters often felt childish, and more suited to a younger audience than an adult thriller.

I realize that there are still several months before the book is published, but I would have run this by an editor before asking readers for reviews. Even reading the book aloud could be helpful to catch some of the inconsistencies.

The amount of time and dedication put into writing a novel is no small task. I admire the author for their hard work to this point. But I believe it is only the halfway point. There is still so much to do with your editor before publication. Best of luck!

Thank you Jayde Collins for allowing me to ARC read this book, I truly enjoyed the opportunity!

This book is a psychological romantic suspense novel that follows the life of actress Rosemarie Chambers (FMC), a Hollywood actress who becomes the target of a stalker. As threats escalate, she enlists the help of Vance (MMC), a bodyguard.

The book itself is a good page turner, sometimes it becomes repetitive, but overall it has a tense atmosphere of paranoia and danger as Rosemarie navigates the complexities of trust and survival.

While there are some grammar errors and missing words, I thought it was a good book!

I would say if you are a fan of Freida McFadden, you would enjoy “The Secret Stalker”.

I was given an ARC of this novel by the author in exchange for reading it and expressing my honest opinions. (Side note to new ARC readers- agreeing to ARC read does not mean you’re required to give a 5 star rating, nor should you lie about the quality of a book just to avoid hurt feelings. Give an honest review, that’s how the author improves the book…)

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, but there’s a scene where one of the MMC’s says something to the effect of how he tries to sound smart and just uses big words without knowing what they mean, for example “can someone please assuage me the ketchup?” That’s this book in a nutshell.

The first half of the book I enjoyed, even with the monstrous grammatical errors and frequent changes of tense mid-sentence. I started making edit notations when I began the book, as that’s what you do, as an ARC reader. By about the third page, I stopped, because there were more highlights and edits than story (hyperbole, but still, there were a ton.) I decided I’d just read it in one go and then summarize my biggest issues, rather than giving a point by point edit.

I finished part 1, and then went to bed thinking it could use a good editor before publishing, but not particularly hating it- I was interested in the plot. Then I read part 2. It reads as though it were written by a completely different author (although the tense changes and complete misuse of words were consistent, so I’m sure it wasn’t,) but I suspect the author was rushed and didn’t edit part 2 at all. Not even a little bit.

And then the… interesting… metaphors. “Pain shot into my heart, pounding harder than a thunderstorm of lethal needles hitting the ground. Uncontrollable tears bursted (yes, bursted) down my cheeks whilst my breath began hyperventilating.” This is just one example of many “please assuage me the ketchup” moments.

I think, in the future, I will only agree to ARC read for established authors, because this is the second time I’ve read a real whopper and felt terrible for posting a review. I will say, that at least this time, I was able to finish the book. That alone warrants a minimum 2 star rating for me. And while the manuscript would look like a crime scene if an editor took a red pen to it, I was able to finish it, at least. And truly I didn’t hate it. It was predictable and definitely didn’t warrant any of the trigger warnings, nor was it dark or unhinged at all, as the author noted in the initial note to readers, with some seriously intense editing, people could enjoy this book.

I believe that it takes guts to write a book and put it out there for everyone to express their thoughts about it, and Jayde’s marketing plan for this book is super solid. She’s got a great social media hype plan and obvious direction. I approve of that. Once this goes through a MASSIVE overhaul and brutal edit, I think she could have a hit here. But to publish it now would be career suicide. The book releases October 1, and by that time, perhaps it will be the book she deserves it to be.

2.5 stars rounded up to 3 stars from me because 1) I finished it 2) I wasn’t hate-reading it, but I definitely do not recommend this book in its current state. I look forward to reading the finalized copy and seeing what edits are made.

Rosemarie Chambers is an actress in Hollywood. After the premier of her newest movie, she receives a note what she thinks is a fan. In reality, this person is her stalker. She then gets a bodyguard, Vance, to help keep her safe. But she keeps receiving messages. They are watching her, no matter where she is. They seem to know her every move. As she and Vance proceed forward to try to find out who the stalker is, her sister, Clara, goes missing. Rosemarie is questioning who she can trust, including Vance. Who is behind the threats, the notes, and where is her sister?

I enjoyed this novel! It’s full of mystery and suspense. Yes, I had to suspend belief a bit and overlook some things, but the general premise of the novel was enjoyable. As I was reading, I was trying to figure out who the stalker was. I was WRONG as to who the stalker was, but I was right as to one person. That’s all I’m going to say so that I don’t give anything away.

I’ve looked at other reviews and I just want to say this: this is an ARC – we know as ARC readers that there may be grammatical errors, syntax errors, and the like. I honestly only noticed a few errors, BUT being that it is an ARC, I don’t let that effect my rating/review of a book. That being said, there were a few things about the book that I could have done without. This includes Vance saying that he’s here to protect Rosemarie what felt to be 100 times, and Clara irresponsibly diagnosing a young child with a behavioral diagnosis rather quickly.

The beginning of the book does give trigger warnings – I personally didn’t feel anything triggering in this book, but I am glad there are warnings there. However, this is not the darkest thriller that I’ve read. This reads more like a popcorn thriller. That doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable though, because it really is!!

The paperback version is out now, so check it out!

First and foremost, I'd like to thank Jayde Collins for giving me the wonderful opportunity to be an ARC reader in exchange for an honest review.

I want to preface by acknowledging how much time, effort, and dedication it takes to write a book. To write something from beginning to end is incredible and I want to commend them for achieving that.

That being said, I hate to admit that this book wasn't for me, as much as I really wanted it to be. I found myself not relating to the characters and often wondering how we got to certain places. The poor sentence structure, tense inconsistencies, and grammatical errors made it difficult to digest.

While the plot was good in theory, I fear the execution didn’t quite meet the same standards. There were greyhound-sized plot holes, and with so few characters, it was easy to guess who the stalker was.

While advertised as “one of the darkest thrillers you may ever read,” it read like a parody. The Scary Movie of books, if you will.

I understand ARCs are to catch last-minute errors; however, this book could have used a few more passes with an editor before being sent out.

I wish Jayde the very best for their future, as it can only go up from here.

A massive thank you to Jayde for allowing me to be an Arc reader for this novel.
The story idea of the book is really good with a great twist at the end. Unfortunately I will only be giving it two stars.
I found the writing very repetitive with the use of the same words and phrases throughout the book. It was also a bit clunky and lacked flow. I know this was an Arc but there was an awful lot of spelling and grammar mistakes and I felt that some of the sentences due to this just didn’t make sense.
The character of Rosemarie was extremely annoying and I found quite a few of the others unrealistic.
As I said, I liked the idea of the story but it was lacking in a few areas. I will be interested to see how Jayde’s writing style progresses over future books.
This would be a good thriller for YA readers.

The premise of the story is super intriguing, and the main character's constant questioning of those around her and their possibility of being her stalker was realistic. I did have the stalker pegged from very early on, but the story was drawn out well and threw in quite a few "maybe" suspects along the way. There are a number of potential trigger topics to be mindful of, which the author does outline, such as DV, kiddnapping, and stalking (obviously).

There were a few small plot holes along the way and some dialogue areas that were a bit distracting, but overall, the story itself was flushed out well. The surface level details are all there, but more depth of the character development would also help to hook me, I feel.

Overall, a fairly fast-paced "whodunnit" kind of thriller read. Thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity!

I was given this book as an ARC and was excited to read it. Honestly, it was difficult to read, right from the start. I started making notes on the grammar and word choice errors, but there were so many that I was spending more time writing than reading. And the use, overuse really, of "whilst" was highly distracting.

I read a lot and can always get a solid picture in my mind of the characters I am reading about. I struggled with that with this book. Characters and storylines were so shallow, and ideas seemed to come out of nowhere. Based on the warning at the beginning of the book, I was expecting it to be much darker and more explicit.

The main character, Rosemarie, was supposed to be this popular actress, but she can move about without throngs of fans recognizing her? There seems to be a lot of holes in the story, as well as continuity issues. The story goes from one thing to the next, and it is hard to tell how much time is actually passing between incidents. Steps that seem so obvious to consider with the stalker situation are totally ignored. For example, the main character is getting threatening texts from her stalker. Wouldn't the first thing you do be to try to find out where the texts are coming from? That doesn't occur to anyone, until apparently weeks after getting these texts. And then suddenly the bodyguard has a hacking expert after a hidden camera is discovered? Why didn't he show up to check out the phone to find the source of the texts?

And when Rosemarie starts filming, she has no script, no plot, and no lines memorized? and the director says he likes to "wing it"? What? So many things just seem unbelievable.

Writing a good book is hard. The book has promise. However, it needs something more than a casual spell check review and more in-depth research to support the storylines.

The books follows a popular Hollywood actress, Rosemarie, who is being targeted by a sinister stalker.

I struggled to emotionally connect with the character and felt that the story didn’t flow very smoothly. With some grammatical changes and corrections to the spelling errors, I feel the flow of the story would be much improved.

The chapters jumped from location to location without any build up or explanation which made it difficult to follow along with the story and made it less immersive.

I did like the short and snappy chapters and the plot was good and felt quite fresh and dark at the same time.

Overall it’s an alright and quick read. It was not to my personal taste but can see the appeal for a large demographic of readers.

Rosalie, an actress starring in her current release, Echoes of Fear as a behavioral analyst. After the premiere, she finds a creepy note that her manager, Lauren is heeding the threat seriously and hiring a bodyguard despite Rose’s protests.
Vance and Rose’s relationship amid all the twists and turns in trying to determine who the stalker is has me on the edge of my seat. I freaking love it.

I read this book in one sitting within a few hours. It definitely was suspenseful and kept me hooked.
I did love the story line and the way it was executed. But I did have a hint very early on in the book on who it was.. I wish I would’ve been wrong on that and it would’ve been a little more twisty, but other than that.. I still loved it!

The end made it seem like there could be more coming and honestly, I hope there is!

I really enjoyed this. It’s a thriller about a famous movie star who has a stalker but it’s all apart of a bigger plan and her sister goes missing so she needs to figure out who her stalker is to stop them and also try to figure out what happened to her sister and I didn’t think it was the person it was that was behind it but it’s giving drama and it’s like a lifetime movie lol. Popcorn thriller for sure

I wanted to love this. The mistakes littered throughout completely put me off and I couldn’t take it seriously and so I didn’t finish the story. It has potential but I don’t think it was ready for release. I read it as an ARC so hopefully some of the issues have been resolved. I persevered as much as I could but in the end I just couldn’t finish it. I feel like it needed someone to offer to proofread and edit it to get it anywhere near.

Firstly, I’d like to thank Jayde Collins for the opportunity to read an ARC of The Secret Stalker. While this book ultimately wasn’t for me, I can still recognize the effort and creativity that went into writing it.

Set against the backdrop of glitz and mystery, The Secret Stalker follows Rose as her life begins to unravel under the threat of a persistent and dangerous stalker. The premise held strong potential, and the initial setup was intriguing enough to pull me in. However, a few elements fell short of my expectations and impacted my overall enjoyment.

One of the main aspects that didn’t quite work for me was the dialogue—it felt unnatural and, at times, overly forced. It often distracted from the tension the story was trying to build, making it harder to fully immerse myself in the characters’ world.
Another aspect that felt unnecessary was the romance between Rose and Vance. While I understand the intention behind giving Rose a source of comfort and protection, their relationship didn’t feel organic or essential to the plot. Vance’s role as a bodyguard could have stood on its own without the romantic involvement—he fulfilled his job, but didn’t particularly stand out beyond that.

As for the mystery itself, I had a strong suspicion early on that Ava would be revealed as the antagonist. Her dialogue subtly hinted at jealousy and resentment, particularly in scenes like the charity event and her conversation with Rose about the acting role with Chris. When the twist involving Ava and her sister was finally revealed, it unfortunately lacked the impact I was hoping for. It felt more like a passing detail than a shocking climax and didn’t quite land with the weight it could have.

That said, I believe The Secret Stalker still has an audience. For readers who enjoy light thrillers and are willing to explore a story with dramatic flair and hidden tensions, this may very well be a hit. Every reader brings their own perspective, and while this one didn’t resonate with me, others might find enjoyment in the mystery and suspense that unfolds

I would like to start by saying thank you to Jayde Collins for asking me to be apart of the ARC team. The Secret Stalker by Jayde Collins is a Psychological thriller that touches on the themes of stalking, domestic violence, kidnapping, death, friends to lovers, and actress/bodyguard. Release date is October 1, 2025.

Rosmarie Chambers is a rising star actress in Hollywood with a past that comes back to haunt her in this fast-paced thriller. She finds herself with a stalker. As threats escalate, she is forced to hire Vance as a bodyguard. As they begin to unravel the identity of Rosemarie’s stalker, her sister vanishes. It is no longer about her survival but that of her sister. Will she discover the truth before it is too late? To quote Collins, “This is Hollywood, and everyone has a part to play in a shocking novel of suspense.”

The Secret Stalker is a fast paced, easy read. I read the book over a couple of hours. I loved the storyline and the intrigue. I did feel a couple of the story twists could have been more developed. I think my only complaint is that I figured out who the villain(s) were very early on and kept reading only to figure out all the reasons why.

I personally like my thrillers with more complex developed plot twists but would rate The Secret Stalker 3.5 stars. I would definitely read other books by Jayde Collins. I would recommend The Secret Stalker.

Happy Reading!

“The Secret Stalker” by Jayde Collins was a tense, fast-paced thriller that kept me turning the pages. The Secret Stalker follows Rosemarie Chambers, a rising Hollywood star who finds herself being targeted after a major movie premiere. She’s assigned a bodyguard, Vance, and while their chemistry simmers, danger is always close behind forcing her to question everyone—including Vance.

The story is well written and flows smoothly, with a steady build-up of suspense that explodes into shocking revelations by the end. The pacing kept me engaged, and the tension never really lets up.

That said, I was often frustrated with Rosemarie’s character. Her immaturity and the way she kept secrets from her bodyguard, even while facing serious threats, made it hard to root for her at times. Still, her desperation to save her sister when she goes missing adds emotional weight and urgency to the final chapters.

Overall, it’s a gripping read full of twists, secrets, and danger—definitely one to pick up if you enjoy thrillers set in the world of fame and hidden enemies.
