Rate this book
She’s got no time for love . . . until he shows her what she’s missing.

After a rocky childhood, Brit Walker has learned to rely only on herself. She’s inherited her grandmother’s business, Sweetpea’s, selling plants in the mountains of Oregon. Overwhelmed, Brit struggles to manage being a business owner. That is, until she runs into Domenic, her annoyingly cheerful one-night-stand, at the farmers’ market.

Domenic Rossi was surprised to find himself disappointed when his one-night-stand left without leaving her number. When the beautiful Brit crosses his path again, he realizes he’s done with his playboy ways, and ready for love, too.
Domenic is determined to drag Brit out of her comfort zone, but love is the last thing on her mind when she’s trying to keep a business afloat. Learning to rely on others, including Domenic, might be the only way to see Sweetpea’s succeed, and honor her late grandmother.

Meet Me at the Market, is a reverse grumpy/sunshine romance set in a small Pacific Northwest town. A standalone, this first-person dual POV book is the third in the Whitespell Series, and includes fun sibling banter, more delicious food with the Rossi family, open door spice, and of course, a happy ending you’ll love.

I don’t always like sweet romance books but when you put a sexy mountain man in it. Sign me up!!!! And this book is romance with a spicy that is chefs kiss 😘, something I love about a book that is so sweet and then the smut comes in and shocks the hell out of you! Like pardon me, sir. What did you just do to her or say. You want to what! Haha…..

Well this one start off with a women Brit Walker moving to where she use to go every summer due to her grandmother passed away and she is taking over her business. She has a green thumb and loves plants just like her grandmother and wants to see her business still stay open! But she didn’t think she would meet anyone in the process…. She is kinda shy and is starting to make new friends until she meets …..

Domenic Rossi which is a meat cutter in the town! They hit it off but she is adamant that she doesn’t want anything more cause she is force on her grandmother business! Will that stand or will they become more….

This book really is something sweet, funny and I am glad that I got to read something by a new author. These are stand alone so I would really like to go back and read the other two and see what this author has to offer.

Definitely something different that I don’t always read and very much enjoyed!

Best line: lumber-snack. That's what the BookTok girlies are calling those strapping, handsome mountain men up where you're at in Oregon."

Brit has no time whatsoever for love...at least until Domenic shows her what she's been missing.

Brit Walker has a rocky childhood that taught her to rely on herself. When her grandmother passed away, Brit inherited her grandmother's business, Sweetpea's. Selling plants in the mountains of Oregon. Even though Brit finds herself overwhelmed, she struggles to manage being a business owner. At least that is, until she runs into Domenic, her annoyingly cheerful one-night-stand, at the farmers' market.

Domenic Rossi surprised himself when he was disappointed when he woke to find that his one-night stand had left without leaving him her number. And then the beautiful Brit crosses his path again, and in that moment Domenic realizes that he's finished with his Playboy ways, he's ready not only for love but ready to settle down too.

Domenic is bound and determined to drag Brit out of her comfort zone, even if he has to do it with her kicking and screaming, but love is honestly the last thing on Brit's mind while she's trying to keep her business afloat. Learning to rely on others, and that includes Domenic, might be the only way that Brit can see Sweetpea's succeed, and more than that for Brit to honour her late grandmother.

Meet Me at the Market, is a reverse grumpy/sunshine romance that is set in a small Pacific Northwest town. This is a standalone, told in the first-person dual POV book and is the third book in the Whitespell Series. This book includes fun sibling banter, delicious food with the Rossi family, open-door spice, and an HEA.

Meet Me at the Market is the 3rd book in the Whitespell Series by Laney Lockett and is A Reverse Grumpy/Sunshine Small Town Romance. And let me start by saying that I found this book to be a refreshingly cute book. I just fell in love with it and I am going to be going back and reading the first 2 books in this series.

I haven't read anything by Laney Lockett before and I have to say that when I read the blurb for Meet Me at the Market, I knew I just had to read this book. I honestly, I couldn't have enjoyed a sweet, small-town romance with the perfectly delicious golden retriever MMC more. I absolutely love that the books in this series are a standalone and can be read in any order. This book for me, was just the perfect introduction to Laney Lockett and her writing style along with her storytelling style.

Brit has suddenly found herself in a new territory, both in the literal sense and the emotional. Then she inherits her grandmother's business, Sweetpea's, and she finds herself relocating once again to this small town in Oregon.

Brit has always been independent, it was more out of necessity she was hesitant to trust anyone or rely on anyone because of her childhood, so she stood to the side, relying on herself, trusting herself, and learning to be independent.

Suddenly Brit finds that the too-good-to-be-true and yet really-is-true town butcher, Domenic turns his eyes on her and has decided that he is going to woo her and Brit doesn't know how to respond to him.

Brit's never had the kind of family who cared about you, wanted to help and protect you, stand by your side, or even just be your friend. And now suddenly Brit finds she has a found family around her that's made up of all the town folk who live all around her and even in Domenic's funny family. And now Brit is wondering if she could lower her guard, let down her walls, and find that she might just belong in the last place she ever thought she could ever belong.

I truly loved this small town setting, the use of the farmers market, it just felt so homey and like a place I would go visit. In fact, it felt like I had gone back home, where I had been born and spent the first years of my life, and I was visiting the local farmers' market. The characters were relatable, well-developed, and well-rounded, they felt real and I fell in love with them. The characters felt like people who would live in my hometown, even the secondary characters were fun and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. All the characters together felt like they made up my hometown and I just loved them.

The humour that was added made me laugh and smile and those moments were amazing. I can't say enough how much I loved this book. Laney did such an amazing job writing this book, it's heartfelt, feels like it's a real-life romance, and one that if you didn't believe in love before, you will after reading this book.

This is one of those books that you can't help but fall in love with and want to read over and over again and I have to say that I wish I could give this book more than 5 even 10 stars and I have to say that you NEED to read this book ASAP! It will make you believe in love again.

What a cute book! If you’re looking for a sweet, small-town romance with the ultimate, yummy golden retriever hero, look no further! Meet Me at the Market is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It’s book three in the Whitespell Series, but I can contest it can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Brit finds herself in new territory, both literally and emotionally, when she inherits her grandmother’s business and relocates to a small town in Oregon. She learned to be independent out of necessity at a young age and it made her hesitant to trust or rely on anyone. So, when the too-good-to-be-true, but really-is-true town butcher, Domenic, decides to woo her, she’s not sure how to respond. Add in a found family made up of townsfolk and Dom’s quirky family, and Brit starts wondering if she might actually be able to let her guard down and belong in the last place she ever thought she would.

What follows is a well-written, heartfelt, true to real life romance that will not only make you giggle and sigh, but also believe in love again.

Meet Me At The Market is book three of the Whitespell Series.

Brit was a very independent and stubborn individual. After everything she has gone through in her life, she feels like she can't rely on anyone but family. But this is a tightknit town and everyone helps everyone when they can. Domenic was such a sweetheart. I loved him from the first moment we saw him, and he really tried very hard to get into Brit's good books. Every time she turned him down or pushed him away, I felt bad for Domenic. It was like she was kicking a puppy. However, like a lot of puppies, once you see them they enter your heart and you have to love them with everything you have. This is how Domenic was able to get Brit to become his friend. And once they were friends, love quickly followed.

This story was so worth the read. It was a sweet story that makes you fall in love with all of the characters. Remarkable and fantastic read.

Meet Me at the Market was such a sweet and heartfelt small-town romance. Brit and Domenic’s story pulled me right in—between the banter, the undeniable chemistry, and the cozy market setting, I felt like I was walking right alongside them. I loved how Laney blended humor, tension, and those swoony romantic moments that make your heart ache in the best way. This book is full of charm, warmth, and that perfect touch of spice that kept me hooked from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a romance that feels like a hug with a little heat—this one’s it.

I’m usually not into small town romances but Laney just has a style of writing that keeps my attention and draws me in!!!

Brit is trying to save her business but never thought that would bring her into the world of Dominic. Falling for a broody farm guy was not on her to do list.

I loved their character development and I loved being able to see them finally fall for each other!!! I’m usually one for dark books but this was perfect!!!

Anytime there is a new Laney book..I’m getting it! She’s one of my go to authors. She knows how to write stories that keep me interested and I’m always rooting for the couple by the end.
Brit and Domenic were great and I was excited because it was a reverse grumpy/sunshine trope. I don’t think Brit could have been much grumpier but Dom sure was a sweetheart and so sweet.
I highly recommend reading this whole series.

This was a cute story. Brit has always done everything on her own and has a hard time learning to accept help. Domenic and others in the community offer but she declines.

Domenic and his family finally pull Brit from her shell and get her to come out with them. She sees what it could be like to have support.

Loved the banter in this book. It was a fun read.

A fun continuation to these interconnected standalone series. The reverse grumpy sunshine was fun. It was also fun to see a new side of the MC then we had seen in previous books. The spice was great.

Firstly, I want to say that I absolutely love this series and Laney Lockett.

Meet Me at the Market, is book three in the Whitespell series. It is a reverse grumpy/sunshine romance. It's a warm slow-simmering small-town romance with the perfect blend of charm, heart, and gentle vulnerability. Laney Lockett creates a world where the farmer’s market isn’t just a backdrop. It's a character in the story.

Brit Walker is trying to rebuild her life in a quieter place, trading chaos for comfort. The market becomes her refuge…and the one place she never expected to meet someone who truly sees her. Domenic Rossi is steadfast, grounded, and quietly irresistible. He has roots in the town and a loyalty that runs bone-deep. Their chemistry grows organically through shared moments, lingering glances over produce stands, and the kind of everyday intimacy that makes slow-burn romance so satisfying. The side characters add warmth, the setting brings charm, and the emotional stakes build in a way that feels both cozy and deeply genuine. When the final confession arrives, it hits with all the softness and sweetness of a small-town love story done right.

If you love comfort-read romances with strong community vibes, slow-burn connection, and characters you want to hug, Meet Me at the Market is a delightful pick.

As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.

Happy Reading!

More than happy to return to Whitespell and the Rossi family, which is growing with every book!

This is the story of Brit and Domenic. Brit comes to Whitespell to take over her late grandmother’s business. She soon realises that Dom—her one night stand from some time ago—is her new farmer’s market colleague. He’s a handsome butcher who is annoyingly charming, cheerful and helpful to everyone in town.

I am a bit like Brit. I don’t trust charming. But it was so fun to see how he won her heart one small but meaningful gesture at a time. Throughout the story, Brit learns how to accept help and rely on someone. And I’m not only talking about Dom. The whole town welcomes her with open arms, and it’s wonderful to see her fit in seamlessly into her new life.

As always, I enjoyed the Rossi family gatherings with their mouthwatering dinners and the kids’ antics. It always baffles me how big families operate, and how warm they are, at least in books. I don’t have a big family myself so it’s always nice to imagine one through the stories I read. And Rossis are a family I’d love to be part of ❤️

If you enjoy warm, cozy, low-angst small town romance—this book is for you!
