He bullied and rejected me for being a plus-size, shiftless outcast. He took my virginity and exposed my magic, then left me because our love was forbidden. Now he’s the Alpha, and the Mating Lottery will determine who becomes his mate. My name is drawn. It means I have no choice but to marry him and give him babies.
The pack banished me years ago. But what hurt the most was his public rejection. He was my brother’s best friend, but I was too low in the pack hierarchy for his taste. Now he needs a mate, and my name is drawn in the lottery. I refuse to go back to my pack, but I’m forced to face him once again.
I’m exposed to humiliating trials, to test whether I’m worthy of being his mate. It’s humiliating to expose my plus-size body to his rough hands. It’s humiliating to bare my broken heart to his cruel tongue. I’m defenseless and shivering, feeling how his baby is growing in my belly.
Will the Alpha finally heal his broken mate?
The Silvercreek Lottery Mates have been outcasted, rejected, and bullied. But at the end of their cruel journeys, the Alphas who hurt them the most heal the wounds they’ve caused and give them the babies they’ve wanted all along…
Hi there! I’m Layla Silver, and I’m so happy to see you here :) I’m a mom of three adorable kids and after all these years, still wildly in love with my awesome and hard-working husband. I LOVE to write about hot shifters, whether Wolves, Bears, or Dragons, who are looking for their mates and will do anything to protect them no matter what comes their way. When I’m not writing or spending time with my family (which is pretty rare, but I’m not complaining!), I like to be in the mountains chasing paranormal dreams.

I'm not sure how to rate this one. I will start by saying that Ms Silver writes some good emotion and good characters. The issue with this one is imho, the plot just doesn't work. It's a stretch to call this a romance. The romance is secondary at best. They have about 3 conversations during the course of the book. If I was going to rate this as a fantasy werewolf story with a secondary romance I'd give this 3 or 4 stars. But the romance doesn't work.
It's not a spoiler to say that Nic rejects Luna. He needs to win her back for the story to work but he doesn't. He continues to put the pack first and refuses to even really apologize for what he did. Instead, Luna is magically picked to be his mate and then she's the one who has to undergo 3 trials to prove she's worthy of him. SMH about that. For the majority of the book they ignore each other while the plot concentrates on the bad guys. Only in the end do they have a short conversation and magically everything is forgiven. The book wasn't satisfying. Case in point of how off this book is, they don't even say their I love yous until the epilogue.
I do think Ms Silver is a good writer but this book doesn't showcase what she's capable of. If she could come up with a good, satisfying plot to with her good characters it would be a winner.

Luna (this story confused me right off the bat because her name is Luna), had started a situationship with the Alpha's son, Domonic (Nic). They were meeting in secret because Luna is half-wolf, half-witch and can't shift, not an appropriate heroine for an Alpha. (It has nothing to do with her being fat.)
They are teenagers at the time. They have sex. She tells him she loves him. He doesn't reciprocate. Later, they are at a pack bonfire, and he rejects her publicly. Nic is her brother's BFF, and her brother sides with Nic, because pack comes first. So when she's able to leave the pack, she does.
Five years later, she is summoned back to the pack for the Mate Lottery. Nic's dad died six months ago. Nic is now the Alpha and the counsel is choosing a mate for him with a Mate Lottery.
Why would they want an inappropriate heroine in the lottery, and risk her being chosen? It's basically explained away with "supernatural visions." All unmated females of marriageable age should be forced to participate. The counsel, and Nic, assume the lottery will chose the right person, and it won't be Luna.
So when Luna arrives back at the Silvercreek Pack, Nic's wolf wants to claim her as his mate, but Nic's human side doesn't think they are actually mates. He says his wolf "sees her as his mate," not that they ARE mates.
So of course, Luna gets chosen in the lottery. Nic accepts it, but the pack is angry and accuses Luna of using magic to rig the results. The next day Luna is required to go through a physical trial. It seems like they designed the trials to make him reject her when she failed, or maybe they want her to die during the trial? Either way, they want him to mate with someone else.
She's about to be killed on an obstacle course, and all Nic can think of is how hot she looks in her yoga pants. He's gross. But she's allowed to use "natural abilities" to do the course, and usually that means wolf abilities, but in her case it means magic, so she completes it easily.
That night, he follows her out into the woods and tells her he always wanted her, and they fuck in the woods. (Even though he didn't think they were mates, he wanted her anyway.) After that, she tries to avoid him. They run into each other a few times while she's preparing for the next two trials, and he just talks about sex and tries to grope her. He just seems really horny. They never really resolve their past issues. The relationship doesn't really develop. There are too many other things going on and not enough time for the two main characters to interact. Such as:
The threat from the Cheslem Pack - the reason they held the mate lottery in the first place - is amping up. Cheslem Pack is trying to breach the Silvercreek border. Luna's parents were a witch and a wolf mated pair, who protected the borders of Silvercreek from the evil magic of Cheslem. The lottery chose correctly, because now Silvercreek will once again have a witch-wolf mated pair to protect Silvercreek. Now they have to enact their plan to save the pack.
And now Luna's pregnant from their romp through the woods. Great. She still wants to leave the pack eventually, and she may need to leave for her safety, since the whole pack hates her, so she doesn't tell Nic about the pregnancy right away.
Her brother James has also been trying to reconcile with her, but she's not interested. He chose the pack and Nic over her, she believes he always will, and there's nothing more to say about it, as far as she's concerned.
The next trial is Unity. She has to do community service and collect some tokens. It's difficult because they all hate her and they don't have to give her any service jobs if they don't want to. It's during the Unity trial that Nic's sister says some stuff about what Luna supposedly did to her brother. Luna doesn't know what SHE did to Nic, since Nic is the one who rejected her. But obviously something happened.
The final trial is a physical fight with the other pack members. That seemed weird but whatever. But she doesn't seem to have any problems beating them all. Do they not want to kill her anymore, now that they need her for magical protection against the threat?
They have the final boss battle with the Cheslem wolves. She gets attacked by the Cheslem Alpha and says something to Nic about "the baby!" and Nic goes nuts and kills the Alpha.
After the attack, Nic admits he didn't fight for her five years ago because he was scared to fight the system he was raised in, but he'd like to earn her trust now.
It ends with them reconciled, but before the baby is born.

Luna was taunted and bullied by her pack, and especially the alpha’s son, because she can’t shift and is part witch. home after being humiliated by the alpha’s son, Dominic, who had promised her a future. Now, the council of elders want her to return for the mate lottery, to refuse means being hunted and either killed or dragged back. Why? Because a dark evil is encroaching on the pack’s territory and an evil is stalking them. Many feel guilty for how she was treated, Dominic, being one of them. This was an interesting second-chance romance: Luna left a 17-year-old youth, and returns a strong, woman. He has been alpha for only a short time and is worried he doesn’t let anyone down. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
It pisses me off that people r so damn ignorant and want 2 b against her 4 no real reason other than they r scared of magic without really understanding of anything. The alpha needs 2 get his head out of his ass and decide what he really wants out of his life and his future. When a psychologist pack tries 2 finish what it started yrs ago, what will happen 2 everyone in the pack? It was pretty good but there's alot of spots that just pissed me off alot!!
She was ostracized for being a witch and found strength and hope outside the pack. Forced to return yrs later, forced into a life she no longer wanted she thrives. Nic thankfully has matured and finds a way back to his Luna. Nice plot, interesting characters, wonderful second chance love story♥️♥️♥️
O.K. I almost didn't read this for 2 reason 1- the title - horrible and I felt it didn't quite match the story - more sensationalism 2 - the author puts out heaps of books very regularly. But I decide to give it a go - I was surprised it was actually a good story, got a little boggy in the middle but had a great h and the H did have to do some work to win her. Deciding whether to try more.
Witch hybrid shifter forcing the pack to change traditions and emerging stronger despite an unpleasant past. Rekindling a relationship that should have always been allowed to blossom... saving pack and finishing what her parents started... Great start to a promising series
About a non shifter witch who is rejected for what they think is best. She is made to come back to be a candidate for Luna. She's still treated cruelly, the pack is in danger

This is a new series and I love how she always comes out with new storylines. This on specifically was very interesting I can’t wait for the next book!
So I've learned the blurbs on Silver's books are hyperbole. The horrible mate is usually not horrible. Sometimes. First, I don't love the title. Apparently it's going to be a thing for this series each one about a "fat" mate. Icky. Also, her name is Luna, but in Silver's world, it doesn't seem like the wife of the alpha has a title? Which is weird, but better than her being called Luna Luna. :S I'm so curious where all this structure in werewolf fiction came from, like alphas, betas, lunas, etc. Anyway, I did like the story because Luna is badass and stood up for herself. Even if she did suffer from body betrayal syndrome. Nic... oh Nic. He grew on me, but there were times I wanted to smack him upside the head. Also, the plot didn't make sense. (Spoilers!) Luna's parents were a witch and werewolf protecting the pack and yet Nic's dad, as alpha, hated Luna? But he seemed to be fine with her parents?
