Aggie's the young woman introduced in "The Screaming House," the first of these Western Horror novellas making up D.L. Winchester's "Aggie's Adventures" series. She's a wonderful character, a bounty hunter whose story took a very sad turn at the end of the first novella. Picking up right where the first book ended, Aggie's story takes her to Devil's Fork, New Mexico, the so-called "The Place of the Banished," a town where no priest would spend the night.

Soon Aggie's facing a demonic cult, trying to evade an evil sheriff, and witnessing hellish underground rituals, putting her life in great peril, not to mention the fate of the whole world if she fails to stop them demons! On her side, she has Padre, a Santa Fe priest serving missions in the area, soon joined by Gabriel, a geeky monk.

Though just a novella, the story feels like a novel; it has plenty of grit and wit, infused with the western spirit of the outlaw! Aggie's set to carve her own path, despite all the adversities, and she's easy to relate to.

I recommend the book; it can easily be read as a standalone as well, and it has passion, good writing, humor, and lots of heart!

Okay, I am starting to become worried that I secretly like western horror?

This was really good, short but well done.
How can I love love Aggie? Strong, wild, and does what needs to be done.

Padre, made me smile and what a fun freaking pair with Aggie.

Together along with Gabriel, they fight demons, the law and just about anything else you'd think a bounty hunter with absolutely no fear would come up against, and I want more, but in a good way.

A delightful action-packed read in the vein of serialized western adventure stories with plenty of heart, I'm ready to follow Aggie wherever she goes, from bounty hunting to demon slaying and beyond.

Thank you to D.L. Winchester and Undertaker Books for the ARC!

A sequel even better than the first, more Aggie, and more adventure! A tough as nails heroine with a wicked sense of humor, what more can you ask for? A solid Western tale, diverse and full of dark humor and demons; makes for absolutely irresistible read, and a series that I’ll recommend forever.
