You have spent your entire life being raised to follow the prophecy about your life and to do your duty. Only to meet the one you are prophecized to be bound to so that the pair of you can bring about a change to the Magickal era just to realize he is not the man you have spent years dreaming of…his brother is. The brother who supposedly doesn’t have powers that the Order knows about anyway.
Follow Penelope, Roman, and Cyrus as they juggle expectations, fate, duty, and family secrets that threaten to destroy everything they know and hold dear.
I really liked Cyrus’ character, the dark, broody, older brother that is totally misunderstood and is seen as stand offish when he is just the weapon that his father made him into. I found Penelope’s character to be incredibly sheltered and naive, however I realize that may not be entirely her fault. There as just a little too much naivety to make her character likable for me, I’m sorry your 20 something years old you have known your whole life that you would be marrying this party boy you have followed in the news and online, yet the two of you have never met prior to the night your engagement is announced and you expected this grand love affair. No, I just couldn’t get to the point that I liked her. Roman, he is the party boy, man child, that reluctantly follows daddy’s orders, and abuses his status as the heir to do whatever he wants, making him cocky, arrogant, quick to temper, and headstrong.
The way the last half of this book pulled me in and kept me invested, I was so ready to see how it all was going to play out! I was not prepared for that major plot twist in the end or that cliffhanger, I am so ready for the next book in the series as I need to know what happens after the events in the last chapter.
If you like dark, who will she choose vibes, “fated mates”, shadow daddies, and spice then definitely add this to your TBR!

Magick, Power, Sex, Dreams and Danger! What more could you need?! How about two brothers who would destroy the world to claim you as theirs and are even willing to battle each other? The Durant family has been hit by Penelope as foretold by prophecy, but will it be as everyone expected, or will things take an unexpected turn?
I was hooked by the end of the prologue. I've never been compelled to need two brothers to fight for me the way I now do after reading this dark romance. I need more of the Durant brothers and can not wait for the next book in the series.
Everyone that loves dark romance and magick needs to not just add this book to your TBR but read it immediately!!!
Spring 2026 can not come fast enough!

Between Shadows and Dreams is a darkly enchanting gothic romance that completely pulled me in. With its rich atmosphere, whispers of magick, and an intriguing prophecy at its heart, this story kept me hooked from start to finish.
Penelope’s struggle between two brothers—one who manipulates shadows and one who lives in them—was both haunting and compelling. The push and pull between love and duty gave the romance real depth, and the gothic tone made it all the more addictive.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and can’t wait to see what happens next in the sequel!

I really enjoyed this book and the cover design! Once I started it was really hard to put down until I finished. It's difficult to pick a side like in other books where it's in your face and easy to decide. Which left me undecided on where I stand with each brother. 😁 The ending left me with so many questions and I'm eager to see where the next book leads. This is a must read or add to your TBR list. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more books from this author.
