I left my ex the world’s most unhinged breakup voicemail—complete with colorful language, a few creative threats, and a playlist he could shove where the sun doesn’t shine.
Only…I vented to the wrong number. Worse? The stranger listened to my rambling rant and had the nerve to respond. With sarcasm, brutal honesty, and a surprising amount of patience for my mortifying meltdown.
Things should’ve ended there. But I can’t stop texting him.
I overshare and ramble. He replies with clipped answers that drive me absolutely insane.
We’re nothing alike. And yet I’m hooked.
And when we finally meet face to face? Let’s just say this wrong number might be the right guy after all.
A short, steamy, laugh-out-loud, instalove romance with mistaken identity, grumpy x sunshine instant attraction, and a cinnamon roll hero who falls first and harder.
One misdialed call, accidental text, or late-night drunk dial sparks instant attraction, unexpected chemistry, and a whole lot of trouble. From grumpy mountain men to handsome hockey players, and smoking hot firemen, each wrong number leads to the right kind of love connection. Your next obsession is calling.
Wrong Number, Right Guy is a multi-author series of short, steamy instalove stories with guaranteed happily-ever-afters.
Piper Cook writes sexy insta-love stories with strong, curvy leading ladies and their hot male counterparts. Guaranteed HEA without cliffhangers or cheating.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was such a fun, fast-paced grumpy x sunshine romance! I loved how the entire story kicked off with a hilariously unhinged voicemail—what could’ve been an embarrassing disaster turned into one of the cutest meet-cute setups I’ve read in a while.
Lola’s chaotic, oversharing personality had me laughing out loud, and Logan’s grumpy, deadpan responses balanced her energy perfectly. The banter between them was sharp, witty, and addictive—I flew through the pages just waiting to see how their texting chemistry would translate in person. Spoiler: it absolutely delivered.
Even though it’s a short read, Piper Cook managed to pack in humor, steam, and sweetness without it feeling rushed. The instalove worked here because the texting allowed the connection to build in such an authentic, modern way. Logan being a cinnamon roll under his gruff exterior made me love him even more.
If you enjoy quick romances with laugh-out-loud moments, fiery chemistry, and a grump who can’t resist his sunshine, this book will make you smile start to finish.

Wrong Number, Right Grump is part of the multi-authored Wrong Number, Right Guy series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, wrong number, curvy girl gets her hunk romance. Lola is a sassy, sharp, and curvy spitfire. Logan is a hunky, somewhat grumpy, mountain of a man. When Lola accidentally leaves a spirited voicemail for her cheating ex on Logan's phone, he is drawn to the feisty, sarcastic tornado. He, uncharacteristicly, texts her back and they begin chatting. This one cracked me up. Lola's voicemail OMG...and Logan's answering dry wit was chef's kiss perfect. The chemistry was INSANE, the banter, texting, and calls were hysterical, and the ending was so happy. These two were so perfect together. I loved that they could both be their authentic selves with each other. It was so good!!!
Lola has had it with her cheating boyfriend, Chad, and leaves him a prolific and specific voicemail of all the terrible things she hopes will happen to him. It’s near epic-level owning, and it’s fantastic.
Too bad Chad never gets the message.
Lola dialed a wrong number, and when the owner of said number responds through text, that’s when things really ramp up.
Logan is definitely a grump, but Lola stirs something in him that he’s never felt before. He likes that Lola tells it like it is, likes the burns she thought she was sending to her ex…basically, he just likes her. And so, they keep texting. And their banter is perfection.
Too many people have told Lola that she’s “too much”, and any time she stands up for herself, she’s treated as if she’s in the wrong. Yet that doesn’t stop her from unapologetically being herself, and wow, I wish I had that level of confidence.
Logan and Lola eventually do meet, but the first time isn’t planned. They just happen to run into each other. Or, rather, she runs into a giant wall of muscle and spills coffee on it. From there, you can probably guess where things go, but not in the order you might think.
I love the chemistry between Logan and Lola, as I have my very own grump who has never thought that I’m “too much”, has never tried to dim my light, and has loved me from the moment he first saw me. I wish that for every good person on this planet.
I’m loving this Wrong Number series, and this entry is probably my favorite so far. This author always comes through with excellent stories, and this one is no exception.
'I pause, confused. Then let the message play out because it’s well... entertaining. I lean back in my chair, one hand braced behind my head, listening to a complete stranger go scorched earth on someone I assume to be a boyfriend or soon-to-be ex. Her voice is pissed but not shrill. She’s sarcastic, furious, and honestly kind of... funny. Descriptive. Personal. Sharp, like she’s been holding back for too long and finally lets it all loose.'
I really loved this book. It was such a fun romance and the wrong number trope is becoming one of my favorites. I loved both Lola and Logan so much. Her message to her ex had me cackling. It was hilarious and her bad wishes for him were the best (and very unique)! I loved that Logan text her back and then these two were back and forth bantering. It was cute and fun and I had such a grin on my face. I loved how they met in person- unbeknownst to her at the time.
'No. Freaking. Way. Grump is Rude-Hot. Rude-Hot is Grump. I sit bolt upright and stare at the message as if it might explode if I blink wrong. “Oh my God,” I whisper. “Did he send a pic of his junk?” Darby yells from the kitchen.'
I absolutely loved this book! I read my romances, not watch them, but I would watch this if it was a movie because it was such a fun adventure. I was completely hooked. I was so absorbed by them that I forgot to think if she ever got to break up with Chad. lol Also, Darby was awesome!
This is the first story I've read by this author and I am definitely reading more!
Lola, our bold and expressive leading lady, starts off with one fiery voicemail meant for her ex… except she dials the wrong number. Enter Logan. Quiet. Guarded. Grumpy with a capital G. But instead of ghosting her, he texts back—and suddenly we’re gifted with the best kind of banter: witty, flirty, honest, and lowkey heart-melting.
Their chemistry sparks before they even meet. The text exchanges had me giggling and grinning, and when they finally bump into each other at a coffee shop (without Lola realizing who he is yet!), I was practically vibrating with anticipation.
What Piper Cook nails is how their differences make them stronger—not just as a couple, but as individuals. Logan, all broody and emotionally locked up, finds himself unraveling in Lola’s sunshine. And Lola? She finally meets someone who sees her—not just her brightness, but her shadows too.
Their love story isn’t just cute—it’s meaningful. It’s about finding comfort in the most unexpected place (like a misdialed number) and realizing that true connection isn’t always polished. Sometimes, it starts with a voicemail rant and a sarcastic text reply.
Bonus love to Darby, Lola’s ride-or-die best friend, who delivers snark, soul, and some very satisfying petty revenge. And the music references? Chef’s kiss. They perfectly map Lola’s journey from heartbreak to healing to full-blown love.

Lola is drinking wine with her best friend Darby. She gets wound up about what a jerk her ex-boyfriend Chad is and decides to give him a piece of her mind. She dials, but it goes to voice mail. Lola leaves a total rant. Then, suddenly, her phone buzzes showing an unknown number. The unknown person texts her stating how intense her voice mail was. Lola realizes she dialed the wrong number.
Logan doesn’t answer his phone when the call is from an unknown number. When he realizes the person left a voice mail that is over four minutes long, he is curios. He listens to it and finds it very entertaining. He impulsively texts the woman. They banter via text for a few minutes. He tells her that he is saving her number in his phone under “Drama Queen”. She tells him that she is saving his number in her phone under “Grump”.
Logan is getting coffee at a local coffee shop when he hears her voice. Lola is not paying attention and bumps into him spilling hot coffee on him. He sees her name on her cup as she is babbling at him. He finds it adorable. He doesn’t share that he is also the man that she accidentally called. He doesn’t want to be her rebound fling.
I was curious to find out when Logan would reveal himself to Lola or if Lola would figure out that “Grump” was also the coffee guy. I loved this couple.

Piper Cook delivers a sweet, sexy rom com that's guaranteed to make you smile and fall in love.
Meet Lola, our bold and sassy heroine. Fed up with her obnoxious ex's bad behavior, a large glass of wine inspires her to send a cutting voicemail... To the wrong guy.
Logan, a committed grump, is said guy on the receiving end. To his own surprise, he can't resist sending a reply. Soon they run into each other at the local coffee shop, and the connection is instant. Plenty of spice and yummy banter follow. But can they overcome their own insecurities to take a chance on the love of a lifetime?
Why you should read this: This book is a lot of fun! It had me laughing out loud 1 a lot (my cats are still traumatized). It also hit me deep in the feels. It's sassy and short enough to sneak a quick pick me up into your busy day. I highly recommend it. I can't wait to see what Piper comes up with next... And I hope to get to see Darby again in another book.
This had me laughing out loud and completely hooked from start to finish! As someone who's been called "too much," I felt such a connection with Lola's unapologetic authenticity.
The texting between the leads was perfection - flirty and lighthearted without being cringe. Their chemistry jumped off the page, and I loved how vulnerable and real they could be with each other. The initial voicemail had me in stitches, and the meet-cute was beautifully written.
Darby was the perfect best friend, providing both laughs and support, and yes, I'm here for the petty revenge on the ex! The song references brilliantly showed Lola's journey from angry to happy.
What really made this special was how Lola and Logan loved each other as whole people - flaws and all. Not in spite of their imperfections, but because those flaws made them who they are. The mis-dials and fun texts continued throughout, and the epilogue was the perfect ending with the same humor that made me fall for this story.
Highly recommend! A romance with genuine heart, humor, and characters that feel wonderfully real.

Lola decides to call her soon to be ex bf, but she doesn't realize she calls the wrong number until she receives a txt from an unknown number with a response to her message. Logan finds her message impressive and a bit funny. At this point the texting continues with witty banter between them. She likes his wit, comebacks, how humorous he is. He likes how real she is, she's funny, both are honest. They agree to meet after they bump into each other at a coffee shop, he knows it's her, but she doesn't realize it's him, until later when she txt him that night. They decide to meet for drinks for the first date. These two are complete opposites, he's shy, grumpy, quit. She's loud, full of expressions, emotions. But they work together as a couple, their good for each other. They want what everyone else has or wants love. Lola And Logan found love in a misdialed number. This was a sweet story with such a happy ending.

Lola accidentally sends a tirade against her ex Chad, to the wrong number instead of the ex, which leads turns out to be Logan. He is intrigued by the voicemail and fascinated by her. As fate would have it, they run into each other at the coffee shop and Logan recognises her voice immediately. What happens next, well I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did!!
I read a few books from this series which I enjoyed, so I picked up this book as well. The author is new to me and wow was I blown away!! I loved the writing, adored the characters, and felt the plot was SO engaging. I liked the rawness of the characters, and also Lola's best friend Darby (we need her story pleaseeee). This is a short, fun book that will put a smile on your face. I will definitely be reading more books from the author!.

Spicy, sweet, cozy, and fun—‘Wrong number, Right Grump’ is just what you need when you want to keep a smile on your face—whether it’s from laughter, something amazing Logan said to Lola, or a smile born from the sultry sensuality of their perfectly written spicy times, Author Piper Cook delivered with this book. Good. Stuff.

She's not a drama queen, she's.....passionately expressive!
I love this novella! Lola and Logan are quirky characters, hilariously funny, packed with sarcasm and dry wit, which makes them enjoyable to spend time with. I really enjoyed their flirty banter, zinging text messages and let's not forget Lola's opening tirade on "Chad's" voicemail. This is a light-hearted and fun read with just enough crazy to make it relatable, yet still be outrageous. This is the first book I have read by this author, I look forward to reading more. Her Home Wreckers series is referred to in this book and the last three books of this series are available on Kindle Unlimited, so I will begin with these. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Lola & Logan are so much fun and I love their story. The characters are well developed for a quick read. Well written and fun!
Lola has always been told she's too much. Too loud, too dramatic, too everything. Logan has been conditioned to believe he's not enough. Too closed off, too quiet.
A hilarious wrong text brings these two together. From their first encounter there are sparks and that rush of attraction & affection.
Logan is perfect. Listening, protective, and saying just the right words. Lola is his perfect match. Hilarious, loud, unapologetic, and expressive. They see each other.
As someone who has thoroughly enjoyed the "Wrong Number, Right" series, this is now my third book, and I can confidently say that "Wrong Number, Right Grump" is another winner! I was completely captivated by the author's engaging writing style, and the storyline was incredibly imaginative and entertaining. The characters are so well-developed, and I found myself completely invested in their journey. I truly hope to see more books from this author in the future, as they have a real knack for crafting compelling stories.

Wrong Number, Right Grump by Piper Cook is part of the Wrong Number, Right Guy series
Lola and Logan's story started when Lola left a voicemail on what she thought was her now cheating ex boyfriend's number. It turns out she left the message on Logan's voicemail and this starts a texting conversation between the two of them. When they finally face to face you knew this relationship was going to work out. This was such a lighthearted fun quick read. The is well written and has some funny moments throughout it too.

Lola is quite impulsive, and when she catches her boyfriend cheating, she calls and leaves him a long, ranting voicemail. The only problem was that it wasn't his number she called, but a stranger's. And that guy, Logan, replied to her message. Logan and Lola have both been told about their shortcomings by previous partners, so they both carry a lot of hurt inside. But little by little, they help each other and grow closer and closer. I love this story! Lola is so much fun, and Logan is the perfect anchor for her. An excellent short read with a fantastic happy ending.

I loved this story, Lola is really angry and fed up, I could see myself acting this way. Except she does not leave a message for Chad, the message is left on Logan's phone, someone she does not know. Logan does respond via text, this starts communication back and forth between them. The chemistry heats up before they even come face to face. They do bump into each other but she does not know it is him, but he recognizes her voice.
Logan likes her for her over the top expressions, he does not want to stifle that like all other men have wanted to. This is a laugh out loud sweet and steamy romance.

This is a new to me author and I enjoyed every moment of this book. It was so funny, engaging, and keeps you hooked to find out which way the author takes you on this story. The chemistry between these two was instant and honest. It was the honesty between these two that made this story. Nothing better than a ranting voice message being left on the wrong phone to start off a new relationship. I cannot wait to read more from this author. Her sense of humour is so engaging it makes these two characters come alive. This is a must read!!
Books about Wrong numbers are one of my all time fav tropes! I just love the randomness and however they forge a connection. I love the voicemail Lola intended to leave for her ex boyfriend it was an awesome roast!! The banter Logan and Lola had through text messages was awesome and you could tell when they met IRL the chemistry would be off the chart. My fav part of the book was when both of them true oh saw each other; Lola wasn’t too much and Logan wasn’t emotionally stunted.
This is a great book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This book had me cracking up from the very beginning. Lola has got to be one of the best characters I’ve read about in a long time. The entire book had me in stitches. These two random people who met by wrong number and the best message ever left on voicemail. One who thought he wasn’t enough and one who thought she was too much. They really are the perfect balance. This is one of those books you buy for a friend so you can joke about all the good lines. This book is incredible overall, it’s just a fun read.

Hilariously sweet and sexy!!!! Omg I was laughing out loud and snorting by the second page and it just got better after that!!!! It’s both adorably sweet and spectacularly fiesty all in one! I absolutely LOVE Lola and her unhinged and sarcastic, verbal diarrhea of the mouth rants that manage to be sassy, emotional, hilarious, and poignant all at once. Not to mention Grump(Logan) who sees her and loves her for it anyway😍! What a fantastic quick read! Oh!!!.

When Lola leaves her cheating boyfriend a breakup message, she's mortified to discover she accidently dialed the wrong number. After listening to Lola's creative rant, Logan can't resist texting her.
This was a short novella, so instant lust/love was expected and while there wasn't a lot of character development, there was enough detail about the character's personalities to help demonstrate why there were a good match.

Lola is dumping her ex on the phone. She lays into him on a voicemail while her best friend is enjoying what she says. She lays into him in a cathartic way getting everything off her chest. After she gets finished with the voicemail, the phone sends a notification buzz from an unknown number. This is part of the Wrong Number, Right Guy series. A short, spicy story that is a fun read. Absolutely a riot and a fun read, storyline is wonderful as are the characters. Grab this story and the rest of the series and enjoy.

She called and left a not so nice voicemail for her cheating boyfriend, or so she thought. Turns out she dialed the wrong number, but in the end, his number turned out to be the right one for her. This is a fun, opposites attract, wrong number, right guy romance with great banter, humor, steam, and a happily ever after. Wrong Number, Right Grump is a wonderful addition to the multi-author Wrong Number, Right Guy series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A sweet and funny read. A drunken mistake where Lola (FMC) sends a cutting and hilarious voicemail to her Ex but she soon finds out that it was sent to the wrong number. Kicking off lots of laughable banter between her and Grumpy Logan. I loved that the most about this book. Conversation leads to a chance meeting and a mutual attraction. With plenty of steam between both of them. A good read with endearing characters.
Lola called her, now ex, boyfriend and left a scathing voicemail after he cheated. One problem, it wasn't her boyfriend's number she left the voicemail on, it was Grump's. Then she bumps in to a hot grump at the coffee shop.
A slow burn, then hot and steamy short novella where dialing the wrong number will change your life unexpectedly.

This is a short but fab meet-cute. I love the sassy Lola who is unapologetically herself and Logan loves that about her. What starts as an accidental conversation becomes so much more. Logan is big and burly but Lola sees through his walls. Together they make the best couple and it’s a heartwarming read. Another fab read by Piper.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book. These are my own opinions.
This book is a fast insta love story and read that will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end. When Lola leaves a voicemail to who she thought was her ex cheating boyfriend but instead a stranger Logan who is a grump and doesn't date. Will they hit it off? I throughly enjoyed this book and characters.

Absolutely adorable - a story about being yourself, flaws and all, and still being loved. Not because they have to, but because they want to. I loved the texts back and forth and how their relationship quickly develops, but feels totally natural. I also loved the peek at the Home Wreckers crew and it warmed my heart that the ladies across the street are finally finding their love matches.
