The Secret Within Eden

Rate this book
The Gods have forsaken me.
Every single last masculine entity in my life has betrayed me in some way or another. El was supposed to love and cherish me as his partner. Yamm disrespected my body. Then Ba'al... My lover turned captor. I never would have imagined that he would trap me in the sacred space I had a hand in creating.
Yet here I am.
One day as I was scrying through the reflection pool within the Garden of Eden, I heard my name roll off the tongue of a mortal man. Kain Galante. He was the first mortal to take interest in me in such a long time, he in that moment became my only hope. Now I have to decide if I can trust him to help free me or if I must take matters into my own hands in fear of him betraying me, too.

I'm losing my damn mind over her.
I've always taken pride in being a rational man despite the hardships life has thrown at me. Even if I haven't fully unpacked the trauma from my early years, I have managed to approach things with a level head. That was until my personal project on the connection between chemistry and alchemy took a turn and led me right to her... Asherah.
The long forgotten Canaanite Goddess.
It would appear that as soon as I began looking into her history, she dug her claws right into me. What started as what I believed to be nothing more than vivid dreams turned my world upside down. I no longer know the difference in what is real or an apparition. All that I do know is that I would do anything for Asherah- even if it destroys me.

I had the lovely opportunity to be a ARC reader for this series! This book starts out slow, but give it time! The first chapters are building the world and giving background of the characters. It is definitely needed, trust the process! Once you hit the second half of the book you are going to fly through, and the ending???? Man, I need book two NOW! Love the storyline and how everything intertwines together!

OMG. This book with suck you in and not let you go. You get all the feels for Kain and want to hug him after learning about the abuse he suffers. Ashera, a trapped goddess, used and abused. By the end, I understood why she did what she did but I hate her for her actions. Cayley, this book is amazing!!!!
