Yolo: The Lovely Little Lunatic

Yolo Jackson entered into the world feet first when she was snatched from the womb of her dead mother. After being saved by a caring nurse she was given a new lease on life. Being born from death you would think there was nowhere for her life to go but up. However the sickly baby survived only to be placed into the dangerous New York state foster care system where she was passed along from one dysfunctional foster home to the next. Things quickly went from bad to worse when she was placed at the Brown's residence, which also happened to be the town's brothel. At the Brown's the impressionable young girl witnessed every scandalous sex act imaginable along with brutal acts of violence as her foster parents waited for her to become of a ripe age to be sold. As fate would have it Yolo was saved from a life of prostitution when her foster mother died an untimely death. Upon the woman's death Yolo was then placed in the care of an aging gentleman who just happened to be a hitman for the notorious Black Mob. The elderly man took the young girl under his wing and starts grooming her to one day be his replacement. All young girls develop crushes and Yolo was no different with the exception that her crush wasn't a rapper or an actor. Instead Yolo had fallen for a methodical killer by the name of Killa and vowed to claim him as her own. Knowing that one day their paths would cross and they would meet she embarks on a murderous journey to impress him. The two indeed meet and when they do all hell breaks loose. Yolo takes you on a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish and it's ending will leave you speechless. So buckle up and prepare to take the ride of a lifetime with Yolo, the LOVELY LITTLE LUNATIC.

Not my type of read...... The reason why is because it was a very graphic tale about a female serial killer that had an unquenchable thirst to kill. The reason why I gave it four stars is because it is a well written book. The dialogue used by the author still brought me to laughter one moment and cringing the next....

So beware...very graphic but well written.

This was an excellent book, I never read anything like this before and when I say Yolo was crazy, baby she was a fucking lunatic,but she had a weakness and it was a man name Killa. I'm going to read more from this author

I am in awe of Yolo. From the initial way she entered this world to her fighting against the ills that were done to her, this story had my heart racing in anticipation of turning the next page. Sa'id Salaam is a master story teller. He makes the reader have compassion for and love Yolo, the lunatic killer, even as she heartlessly kills for pleasure and for hire. In the midst of all the blood and gore, Yolo finds a father figure in Mr. Grimsley, a mother figure in nurse Marquita and even a crush in fellow murderer Killa. I couldn't out this book down and will definitely be reading Part 2. I must say, I am rooting for Yolo to find the love and happiness she seeks, even if it means killing anyone remotely close to Killa. Totally a fan of this lovely little lunatic.

This book was straight madness from start to finish. That chick Yolo was something serious she didn't play no ganes. she was strictly about her business. She had it bad for your boy Killa. This was a great read Sa'id Igotnext Salaam you did your damn thing in this book. I hope it's a part 2 if so I can't wait to read it. 5 star banger for real. You won't be disappointed at all.

What A Read!!!

This is a very god read. The author will have your attention from the beginning to the end. The characters are well developed with enough information to understand their role in the story. Now Yolo what a character. She has been dealt a bad hand since she was born. Now at a moment when she needs someone. Fate has brought someone in her life. A good read..

This girl was something serious I was drawn from page one and couldn't stop. This girl had a very hard life and was never able to live her life on the right path but she still grew up to be a wonderful girl.

Wow she is a lunatic

This book is so good Yolo is one crazy mixed up girl. Everybody in her life taught her how to kill from babys on up to adults. I hated tht she killed babys & then feed them to their parents tht is really sick but all in all this is a very good read.

It was okay...

I loved the detail in this book but at times it was a bit much. In some parts of the book it didn’t hold my attention as much and I was able to put the book down for several days, which is rare with me being an avid reader.

A real luatic

Yolo was dangerous from birth. Born to a crackhead mother who died giving birth, Yolo came into this world feet first and ready to live although the Dr who delivered her wanted her dead. Saved and named by a nurse, Yolo was a certified lunatic from the moment she took her first breath. Great read, can't wait to read part 2

I started this book far too late in the evening, and I should have known better. Sa'id NEVER lets readers down, and this is yet another example of his extraordinary talent. Yolo, a child born to unfortunate, harsh circumstances who was given up for dead even before she came into the world, demonstrated from day one that she was no ordinary girl. She was a quick learner, and she was fascinated with all things murder. This worked out well for her, given the life she was thrust into. As readers follow Yolo through foster care, they're able to vividly follow her journey of maltreatment by others and gain understanding of her heart's development, if that's what it's called. As she reaches pre-adolescence, it's over for the streets. Yolo's name will become synonymous with death, and that's not something she was unhappy with. There's much, MUCH more to this story, and it's well worth the read. Be careful when you start, though, because once you open and read page one, you won't have ANY desire to put it down before you read the very last sentence.

Lunatic is an understatement

There were a few errors but nothing over the top to take away from the story. From the beginning Yolo was destined to have a complicated life. She never had the opportunity to meet her parents and her foster homes weren't suitable either. Who knew something as simple as learning to cut chicken would lead to her twisted mind. Mr. Grimsly and Casper came around at the right time. Yolo was so fascinated with the one killer she hadn't met and set out to reach a certain quota. In her twisted mind anyone could get it. Killa didn't play any games as well and got caught up with the wrong people. I was mad Yolo put herself in a relationship and wanted to destroy whoever she thought would be in the way. That chick was delusional for that one. After all those years she met Nurse Marquita and was able to learn about herself. Yolo's ruthless ass may be getting herself into way more than she bargained for with Killa!

Maniac at its best

This book was definitely among some of the best i have read. In this story you meet Yolo Jackson. Born into a world of chaos and confusion, which makes you wonder, can it get any worse? Well it does. A path of destruction seems to be destined for Yolo as abuse, death and murder seem to follow her on this road. This black hearted young lady turns into a certified killer thanks to her mentor Mr.Grimsley who lucked up on her. A deranged young woman, who in a way suffers from the Peter pan syndrome, cause she never really had a childhood killing for the Black Mob. At the end of the day you really have to ask yourself, do you really want to be on their bad side. This was a great read, definitely going to check out part 2.

This book was just like the rest of Sa'id's books-Awesome! He writes in a way that keeps me engaged from start to finish. His stories are based in the inner city, but I wouldn't call them "urban fiction" because to me they're so much more than that. Yolo is a serial killer but the book has a great deal of humor in it. Not just slick phrases here and there, no like make you laugh funny. I look forward to each book in the series and have read most of Sa'id's other books as well. The book is better than good.

This is one Twisted Book
Yolo was like a character I never read before she was a Psycho,Deranged,Twisted Young lady with Issues. I wouldn't say I didn't like her Its not her fault its how she was Raised.As she got older I would think she would of learned right from wrong but she Didn't .She was Obessed with Death,and killa.Some parts had me Laughing and Some had me in Tears it's very sad parts I had to put the book down and Recoup for a few.

I've read a lot of Sa'id Salaam books, but I like Yolo the most. Like ALL of his books this is very graphic when it comes to sex, violence, and even the intentions to rape a child so please be aware. I like Yolo simply because its not often we get to see a woman hitman, and not often we get to see a woman sociopath. This book does tie in a little bit with Killa story but you can read one without reading the other one.
