Notes from a Restless Mind: The written form of thoughts I could never say out loud

Rate this book
This book was not written as a work of literature, but as a personal reflection.
Every chapter, and every section within, comes entirely from my own experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I did not rely on extensive research or external sources. Much of what you’ll read here may already be familiar to many. Yet, I held onto the hope that someone out there, someone like me, has been silently carrying these thoughts, unable to put them into words.

The first part of the book explores the world of work, from both the perspective of an employer and an employee. Drawing from my experience in the Information Technology sector, I offer practical observations, lessons learned, and honest reflections. I especially hope young readers navigating modern careers will find something useful here.

The journey then turns toward a theme that has quietly shaped my entire life — mathematics. Not equations or theories, but the subtle ways numbers and algorithms influence how we live, think, and decide. I do not teach; I raise questions and awareness. Reason, I believe, becomes clearer through numbers.

This naturally leads to a discussion on manipulation — political, personal, and systemic. I explore how narratives are shaped and how truth can be obscured. Some examples are drawn from current realities, others from timeless patterns. The thread connecting them is the quiet force of influence we often don’t even notice.

Toward the end, I speak directly to my homeland, Turkey. I write about culture, morality, distortion of truth, and the absence of justice. These are thoughts that, back home, are difficult to express openly. There is sorrow in that, but also a deep need to speak, to be heard.

In the end, I close this book with one simple wish — that someone, somewhere, might read these words and feel understood. Maybe they will carry a piece of it forward. Maybe they will say what I could not.
