Life as a professional hockey player keeps me plenty busy, and yet it often feels like I’m on autopilot as the world passes me by. I suppose I can’t complain. I have the honor of calling myself a New England Bay Shark, so I have more than enough money to buy some form of happiness.
Sleeping around with beautiful women may come with the territory, but I’ve never taken the time to actually get to know any of them. In fact, there’s only one I’ve relentlessly thought about, but she’s off-limits. Everyone knows you can’t go after your best friend’s little sister. Especially if he’s already forbidden it.
I’ve had a crush on Saylor Sawyer since I met her years ago, and even though I’ve spent many showers and nights alone creating my own fantasies, starring her, I know I can’t
act on those … filthy thoughts.
No matter how hot they are.
When a teammate hurts her badly, Saylor’s on the warpath, looking for sweet revenge. I just happen to be the lucky bastard sitting at the other end of the bar.
One hookup gets entangled with a lie, and things get complicated fast. But the lie wasn’t mine, and I’m going to make damn sure she knows it too.
See, the night she used me to get back at her ex awakened a beast inside of me. A beast that only wants Saylor Sawyer.
Hannah Gray spends her days in vacationland, living in a small, quaint town on the coast of Maine. She is an avid reader of contemporary romance and is always in competition with herself to read more books every year.
During the day, she loves on her three perfect-to-her daughters and tries to be the best mom she can be. But once she tucks them in at night--okay, scratch that. Once they fall asleep next to her in her bed--because their bedrooms apparently have monsters in them--she dives into her own fantasy world, staying awake well into the late-night hours, typing away stories about her characters. As much as she loves being a wife and mom--and she certainly does love it--reading and writing are her outlet, giving her a place to travel far away while still physically being with her family.
She married her better half in 2013, and he's been putting up with her craziness every day since. As her anchor, he's her one constant in this insane, forever-changing world.
Ryder Cambridge is the defination of down bad and Saylor Sawyer? She’s chaotic hot girl energy meets soft romantic core. And I ate it all up.
This one felt lighter, less emotionally heavy than the earlier books in the series—and honestly, I loved that shift. You can absolutely read it as a standalone, but it hits even better if you’ve been keeping up with the Sharks.
💭 the vibe: confessions that slip out too easily. unspoken years of pining. a hookup that wasn’t supposed to mean anything. (it meant everything.)
Ryder has been quietly, shamelessly obsessed with Saylor for years. She's his best friend’s little sister, so she’s always been off-limits… until she isn't. Their situationship kicks off with a lie, but what comes after feels too real to ignore. And Ryder? He never plays it cool. He wears his heart all over his jersey and makes no apology for how hard he falls.
Saylor is firecracker energy in a tiny frame. She’s flirty, loud, and not afraid to take up space—but there's so much tenderness buried under her boldness. The girl who seems like she’s all fun and games? She aches for something real, something that won’t walk away when the spark fades.
And that’s exactly what Ryder gives her. Not just words. Not just heat. Consistency. Gentle hands. Loud love. A guy who actually sees her and still stays.
✨ what I loved: ✧zero games. Ryder knows what he wants and doesn’t waste time pretending otherwise. ✧playful banter + deep conversations? Yes pls. ✧that boy-obsessed energy. He’s not afraid of being "too much" for her. ✧ the way Saylor wants to believe she’s lovable, even when her past tells her otherwise. ✧found family vibes—as always, the Sharks crew brings so much warmth.
what I wish we had more of: There were times the spice overshadowed the fluff. Don’t get me wrong—the tension was 🔥—but I wanted more of those quiet, soft moments. The kind where love just breathes. Still, the final chapters pulled at my heart in the best way.
Would I recommend it? If you love hockey romance, a persistent golden retriever of a guy, and that addicting “he’s been in love with her forever” trope—this is your next read. Short. Steamy. Surprisingly tender. A little chaotic. A lot fun. Just how I like it.
Next up: Tripp and Freya. I can already feel the drama brewing. 👀
I will always and forever Stan anything and everything Hannah Gray. And this one was not an exception. Saylor and Ryder gave me all the feels, delivered on the spice and gave me total swoon for a boy obsessed.
And when we talk about Ryder Cambridge... this man is fully down bad for Saylor Sawyer. Like he takes boy obsessed to the max, and it was so fun to read. I ate up every single thing about this book.
✨ Hockey Romance ✨ Best Friend’s Sister ✨ Sunshine x Sunshine ✨ Boy Obsessed ✨ Long Distance ✨ Friends with Benefits
I loved the tropes in this one so much, and have to say, I adored the friends with benefits vibes, the way these two connected and the entire found family vibes of this book.
Saylor and Ryder also have some of the best freaking chemistry because these two cannot keep their hands off each other… they try the whole “get it out of our system” things and fail miserably 😂😂 but they are damn hot while doing it 🥵🥵
I also just love that Saylor is a reformed playgirl and trying to figure out who she is. And Ryder gives her the space to do that even while he shows up every single time and quietly lets her know he’s there.
I just love them. They are definitely a fave couple of mine for sure!
This book was so different than what I've come to expect from Hannah Gray. I just couldn't connect with either character and they came off annoying at times.
I felt like this story was more about the spice than the actual plot, which can be fine if that is what you are looking for. However, my favorite Hannah stories are ones that are more plot/character driven, which is what I really come to expect from her writing. The spice felt VERY repetitive, I can only read about characters coming in their pants so many times. And for a female to do it...with no stimulation...IDK about that. It became rather boring and found myself skimming over parts bc it was the same. Since this was more spice than anything I didn't feel any connection between the two of them at all. Not to mention that Saylor was supposed to be a "reformed playgirl" but it didn't come off that way since you only really saw her jump from her ex to Ryder.
The drama in the book was also not really drama IMO. Like it was made a bigger deal than what was needed. It felt more highschool type of drama than older MCs.
Shoot Your Shot has definitely been the best in the series IMO. There was raw emotional depth to the characters and plot and that really hasn't been showcased in the series since. I will be continuing the series bc Hannah is a favorite author of mine, but this one was a miss for me and I would recommend skipping.
Overall: 3 Spice: 4
Tropes: Hockey Romance Best Friend's Sister Boy Obsessed Friends with Benefits
Umm… was there a plot in between all this repetitive and over-the-top smut with the cringiest dirty talk I’ve ever read (and I love dirty talk!)?
Seriously. It’s a story of “how we met” you tell your friends over coffee at best. There was no actual book plot in there. Even the attempt at the third-act-breakup was so pitiful, the middle schoolers wouldn’t touch it.
It was easily the weakest book I’ve read by the author.
There was no angst, no tension, no chemistry and no story… Basically, it was as if the author had to write a book about those two characters but she didn’t really have any ideas for it. Not sure how we got here.
I absolutely loved everything about this book. It is one of my favorites from Hannah, which a stark contrast from my other favorite Shoot Your Shot. I mean the two books could not be any more different. You have one which is emotional and this one was just a smütty good time and if that doesn't speak to my wide range of reading than I don't know what does. But that also speaks to how dynamic of a writer Hannah is.
So why did I love this one so much? Saylor Sawyer. This girl is hands down my favorite FMC that Hannah has written. She's just a fun time. I loved all of her witty comments to Ryder, which btw their banter was top tier perfection if you ask me. Most of my highlights from this book was from their banter that made me laugh. But I also loved that she is a playgirl. Listen, we all love a reformed playboy that falls hard but it just hits differently when she's the one who sleeps around. But what I loved most is how it was a mask for her feeling like she isn't the type of girl a man settles down with. But don't worry, Ryder is there to prove to her otherwise.
And then we have Ryder. This man is Saylor's brothers best friend and teammate. Oh and he's been OBSESSED with Saylor for years. And when he sees his in, he went for it. He wanted her anyway she would let him, literally and figuratively. But can we also mention the mouth on this man? Holy moly cannoli, it will make you sweat! Yes, this is a spǐcy one, so hang on tight!
Overall, I really enjoyed the plot. I feel like that is one thing that Hannah does really well. She always gives us intriguing plots that go beyond the sport. Because let's face it, hockey romances are some point all start to read the same but I always know Hannah's will always be different!
Should most definitely read this book if you like: - hockey romance - brothers best friend - reformed playgirl - friends w/ benefits - long distance - secret/forbidden relationship
* I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Hannah Gray and Wordsmith Publicity for allowing me the absolute pleasure to read Bite Your Tongue as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.
This is the fourth book in the series, but no worries—you can enjoy it on its own! I think it’s the least angsty and more lighthearted compared to the previous ones. Ryder and Saylor's chemistry is fireworks from the very start! I loved their playful banter and how their relationship blossoms throughout the story.
Saylor is such a fun character! She knows how to enjoy life, is confident in her own skin, and knows what she wants, all while having a huge heart. She’s complex, too. While she craves attention, she gets a bit awkward when people compliment her. She might seem like a playgirl who’s just into hookups, but deep down, she’s a romantic hoping to find someone who loves her for who she is.
As for Ryder, he’s been crushing on Saylor for years, but things have never aligned—plus, she’s his best friend’s sister! But when he finally gets a chance to pursue her, he goes for it without hesitation. I admired his persistence; even when Saylor tried to push him away, he was determined to win her over. I love how openly he expresses his feelings for her. Ryder is such a sensitive guy, wearing his heart on his sleeve and never shying away from his emotions. He takes the time to be friends with Saylor first, showing her he’s different from the other guys she’s dated. He always reminds her that she’s perfect just the way she is.
As always, the previous characters add so much to the story, and I love their camaraderie! There were plenty of funny and heartwarming moments that made me smile. In the previous book, we felt the strength of Gemma and Saylor's friendship, and that’s just as strong in this one. Their bond is truly special, and I loved seeing how they always support each other. Overall, this was a delightful read, and I enjoyed every moment of it. The sneak peek for the next book has me super excited—I can’t wait to dive into it!
“Wow, you’re, like, so obsessed with me, aren’t you, Pretty Boy?”“Yeah, pretty much.” I nod. “Is that a problem?” “Not unless you make it one,”
If you're in the mood for a quick, steamy and emotional read, then this is the right pick for you! I liked how Ryder & Saylor's long distance situationship turned into something deep. Saylor was emotionally locked down but was so vulnerable and kind. Ryder was so open, honest and fun and I liked how he chased her every time! The steam was off the charts but sometimes, I felt like there should've been more fluffy moments between them tbh. Still, this was an easy read, sweet towards the end and also fun at times. The side characters were wholesome as always! And I can't wait to read Tripp & Freya's book next!!! So overall, I'll give it 3.75 stars.
I couldn’t stand the FMC and didn’t understand if she was someone who craved attention bc she wasn’t the favorite child — she’s “just a nurse” and her brother is a pro-athlete, pro-athlete, pro-athlete, pro-athlete…
Or if her seeming bada**ery was a cover for her fear of rejection.
And the woman in the car is just NOT a believable “cover.” It’s like two separate personalities.
And he didn’t know it was her in the video and even turned away as not to watch it. (Not a spoiler.) Why was he so nervous?
I stopped reading at the start of the miscommunication trope. Ugh.
We love a boy down bad, and Ryder certainly is for Saylor Sawyer, his best friend's little sister. This is a story of two people circling each other, the constant nagging of "we shouldn't, but we really, really want to" playing in their heads until they give in. But as always with Hannah's writing, there really is more beneath the surface for both characters.
Saylor is the epitome of YOLO and is unapologetically herself. She's fun and fearless, but that also leads to some regrets and some insecurities. Ryder sees the persona she shows the word, but he also sees that there's more to her, and he chips away until he discovers who she is down deep. There is an undeniably instant attraction on Ryder's part, but he puts in the work and builds a friendship with Saylor to move past the lust and into love. All the little things he does to show Saylor how much she means to him are just amazing.
The relationship between Gemma and Saylor is also peak female friendship. Saylor falls in love with Ryder, but Gemma never stops being Saylor's soulmate. I love that Hannah gave us that balance and that Saylor wasn't someone to lose herself in a romantic relationship, especially since we saw Saylor's worries of being too boy-crazy in the past.
I loved that we got multiple looks into the future for these two to see how their relationship continues to progress. And thanks to the little sneak preview at the end, I am SO excited for the final book in the series.
I have to start this review off by saying thank you Hannah Gray for giving me a real realistic relationship timeline!
Saylor may be my new favorite FMC of HGs I just feel like I could relate to her.
Saylor & Ryder 💕 Nurse x nhl player Teammate/best friends sister Secret relationship Long distance (I loved this!) He falls first Friends (with benefits)
“Brat” x “Pretty boy” Add in a revenge hook up and matching tattoos. Spice
Holy spice! This book was hot, hot, hot!! This was so different than what she usually writes. It was more upbeat and easy-going. There wasn't any really big drama between them. They were just horn dogs and had a good time with each other.
I LOVED Ryder. He was so sweet to Sailor and made her feel like the most important girl in the world. Their chemistry was OFF the charts. It was so cute how they were just obsessed with each other.
This was such a good, quick and fun read but im not going to lie I definitely started to skim through because nothing exciting really happened 😅

My obsession with Hannah Gray and the Bay Sharks Series continues. 😍
I have been anxiously awaiting Ryder and Saylor’s story & I think it might be the spiciest book in the series so far. 😮💨
I am so in love with this world that Hannah has created, add in brother’s best friend and I am instantly swooning. This is the definition of right person, wrong time but watching their relationship develop over long distance even though Saylor has sworn off men and relationships. Ryder is not taking no for an answer, he is so patient with her and seriously just the freaking sweetest AND I have to mention his dirty mouth. 🥵 because WOW, their chemistry is HOT.
Another banger by Hannah 🔥 and I cannot wait for Tripp and Freya!
What to expect: 🏒 Hockey romance 🏒 Brother’s best friend 🏒 Friends with benefits 🏒 Long distance 🏒 Secret/Forbidden relationship 🏒 Right person, wrong time
Thank you so much Hannah and Wordsmith for the opportunity to read this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review!
If Hannah writes it, I will be reading it! I am loving how this series is coming along and Hannah knows how to grab my attention from the start! Bite Your Tongue is the least angsty in this series and more lighthearted! And the smut was definitely SPICY!
I adored Saylor Sawyer, her character growth was everything! Ryder had me GIDDY. I loved the way he was able to help Saylor feel confident and happy with herself. He is swoon worthy!
Hannah can never miss for me. She can write anything and I will eat it up!

DNF. At 30%. How are people giving this a 5? I’d give it a zero if I could. Is this the same writer who wrote Paige and Kolt?
This literally read like unedited fanfic. The Female character literally referred to the male characters D… as “Willy” absolutely not.
She finds out her ex made a sex tape and shows it to people and her answer is to bang another guy on the team? That math isn’t mathing.
The Southern Charm references took me out of the story.
Sometimes I can hate read/skim a book… but this was too cringe to even to do that with.
The cringe sex - was the worst “spice” I’ve ever read. Her getting off just by blowing him. GTFO. The sex scene like 3 pages in? This was just smut to have smut and it wasn’t even written well.
It also was super confusing to have this out of timeline….: we already read about Kolt and Paige and Smith and Gemma - and we have to read that again but this happened during that … such a weird choice.
Probably done with this author now.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The bar was on the ground but it was still worse than expected. The entire first chunk of the book was a recap of the first books of the series. Then we spend the next 150 pages enjoying miscommunication and childlike behaviour. The dirty talk was cringe.
No one is reading this FOR the plot but man, the plot and the spice were brutal
As usual Hannah Gray kills it. I enjoyed this book so so much.
The story follows Saylor and Ryder, two characters that we met in Gemma and Smith's story. I highly recommend reading book 3 of the New England Bay Sharks series first. It really adds to Saylor and Ryder's story if you read book 3 first.
Okay, back to this story. :)
I loved being able to see what was going on in a different story line while the prior book was going on.
I LOOOOOOOVE Ryder. My god, that man. He is the right about of obsessive but also playful. It was really fun to read him hitting on Saylor and trying to joke around while pinning after her. Everything about this man was perfect. He is the protective, caring, giving, and f*cking filthy as heck.
I felt terrible for Saylor multiple times throughout this story. Hannah, that poor girl deserves a break. 😂 I think her moving was for the best and while it was absolutely pivotal to the story line, I think it also helped her grow as a person.
My favorite thing about this book were the last few chapters. I don't want to ruin anything because I was absolutely surprised, but boy did I enjoy those last few chapters. I actually teared up at the end.
If you looked up the word Determined in the dictionary, you would see Ryders name because that is exactly what he was in this book!!! He did not care one bit that Saylor was trying to work on herself and not be involved with any men while doing so. He showed her what it really looks like to have someone genuinely care about you and not just look at you for your body. Although, he didn’t miss the opportunity to point out that her body was a huge plus! This book wrapped up beautifully and I definitely can’t wait to read Tripp’s book!
* Hockey Romance * Brother’s Best Friend * Friends with Benefits * Long Distance * Secret/Forbidden relationship * Right person, wrong time
“Either way, I am who I am, and if some people find me annoying … well, to h*ll with them. One day, a person is going to come along and like the way I am. If not, I suppose I’ll just be a crazy cat lady instead.”
“It’s no secret that Saylor can be a little promiscuous. Some guys might make a joke about it; I find it endearing because she literally gives zero sh*ts. She is who she is, and you can take it or leave it. Either way, she’ll be fine.”
Saylor and Ryder have the sweetest story! Saylor has been treated awful by previous boyfriends, being told she will never be good enough. The last stop before the men find “the one”. And hearing that and how her ex boyfriend treated her made her trust in men none existent. The probably is, Saylor is a relationship girl. All she wants is for someone to love her for who is he is. That’s where Ryder comes in. He has loved Saylor for years, but kept his distance until he had a shot. And once he got a chance he didn’t give up trying to prove Saylor could trust him and she was worthy of being loved just as she is!

Rating: 4.5/5 🌟 Spice: 3/5 🌶️ Characters: Saylor and Ryder
These two were so perfect together! Ryder is the definition of boy obsessed, and I loved every minute of it. What starts out as a revenge hookup quickly leads to more because Ryder sees this as his chance with Saylor. He's had a crush on her for a while and is taking advantage of the opportunity. Saylor tries hard to resist him but it's futile. Ryder is determined and even over long distance he's there putting in the work to build their relationship. He was sweet, patient, persistent, and hot. The chemistry between these two was intense and the banter was incredible. I'm also pretty sure this is Hannah's spiciest book yet. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
-hockey romance -brothers best friend -friends with benefits -secret/forbidden relationship -long distance
ohhhh we love a man who's soooo down bad!! & a woman who's confident in her sexual prowess & knows what she wants! both of these mcs were such hotties, it had me in hardcore bi panic if im being honest! haha but it was beautiful!!
“You told me to bite my tongue when I felt the need to tell you my feelings.”
Hannah Gray never ceases to amaze me! Every book she writes just feels like you added a new family member to your clan. It’s just…HOME.
Hockey hottie Ryder Cambridge has been pinning after his best friend’s younger sister, Saylor. She’s off-limits. That was declared by her, especially after an ex-teammate badly hurt her. Saylor is on a warpath, and Ryder so happens to be in her line of sight to initiate sweet revenge on her ex. Ryder, the lucky bastard, will gladly comply just to get a taste of Saylor. That one taste left him addicted for more. Now he’s on a mission to convince the girl that all hockey players aren’t the same. What lengths will he go through to win her heart?
Bite Your Tongue was lighthearted, sweet, with hilarious banter. Saylor is comfortable in her own skin, but she’s also complex. Her internal insecurities can take over her confident exterior. Ryder was able to read her and help through those insecurities. The chemistry they shared oozed off the pages immediately. Ryder wears his heart on his sleeve. I loved how he took the time to be friends with Saylor first and worked his way up to make a home for himself in her heart. This was heartwarming, and I loved it. I’m excited for the next book.

Yes well.. here we go, another Hannah Gray book absolutely DEMOLISHED in a few hours. I just couldn’t resist Ryder and Saylor’s story and dare I say it, this might be my favourite of the series!!
These two were so obsessed with each other, as much as Saylor *tried* to resist 🤭. Their relationship starts out as a revenge hook up but quickly leads to more. Ryder has been crushing on Saylor for a hot minute so he isn’t taking his chance to get to know Saylor for granted. He is so sweet, and chips away at her resolve. He definitely puts in the work to build their friendship which naturally progresses to more. They were SO hot together. OMG! Hannah knows how to write characters with filthy mouths and both Ryder and Saylor were no exception. If their hot chemistry was anything to go by, these two were meant to be!
I loved how Hannah wrote the end of this book - having all of these special glimpses into Ryder and Saylor’s future was so nice and seeing how their beautiful relationship progressed! And that sneak peak, I’m very much looking forward to Tripp’s book!
Add to your TBR if you like: - hockey romance - Best friends little sister - Friends with benefits - Long distance relationship - Right person, wrong time - Boy obsessed but he falls first
DNF - 52% I hated the FMC 😅🥴 Her inner monologue didn’t match what came out of her mouth. And she was just very plain beside the fact she had self esteem issues and over all just fell flat for me
I absolutely love this entire series and Saylor and Ryder’s story was no different. After hearing for years that she was the good time girl and not the one you settle down with, Saylor began to believe that happily ever after was not for her. When her brother’s teammate betrays and humiliates her, she takes a job in another state determined to have a fresh start. She isn’t sure how to react when Ryder keeps showing up and behaving so differently from every guy that came before him. I loved her sass and the banter between them. Whew boy when Ryder let that filthy mouth fly, that spice was spicing. Saylor has a filthy mouth too and man the heat was flying off the page!
If you love these things in your books you are going to love this one:
🏒 Hockey romance 🏒 Brother’s best friend 🏒 Friends with benefits 🏒 Long distance 🏒 He falls first and hardest
This instalment of the series didn't have some of the deep emotional heartbreak as some of the earlier ones, but you can't help but feel for Saylor. Her pain over always being told that she was "too much" is something a lot of women can relate to. Whether you were told you are too loud, too bossy, too assertive - you know how that can cause you to second guess yourself. Ryder only sees how amazing Saylor is and wants to help her see what he sees. After seeing the sweet side of Ryder I was not expecting that filthy mouth but it was HOT. Absolutely loved their story!
Thank you to @wordsmithpublicity and @authorhannah_gray for the ARC of this book. This is one of my favorite series and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Saylor and Ryder.
The only reason I gave this 4/4.5 stars instead of 5 is simply because a good portion of this books timeline overlaps with the previous book in the series, Fool Me Once and because of that I felt like most of the story was retelling events we already knew happened just from different POVs. (I might change it to 5 stars later, idk) I really did love Saylor and Ryder. Ryder was down sooo BAD for Saylor and I just loved her fiesty, sassy attitude towards him and life in general. I do wish there would have been more that transpired from the Saylor and Rowan situation, and unless I missed it, I am still curious what the coach was all hush hush about in the beginning regarding him..maybe that’s going to be revealed later?
I am already super excited for the next book!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I DNF’d at about 60%, I really tried to finish it but it was just so bad. The story, the characters, the writing, all of it was terrible. This is the 4th book I’ve read from this author and I’ve DNFd 2 of the 4, so it’s safe to say this author isn’t for me.
If you like spice only, this might be for you but even the spice in this one is repetitive and honestly a little ridiculous. The two main characters are also annoying and highly unlikable.
This was a spicyyyy one!! I swear there was something going down every other page!!
Saylor — sister of Smith Sawyer and a bit promiscuous to say the least but an absolutely incredible nurse and secret hopeless romantic! Ryder — an NHL superstar and best friend/teammate to Smith.
This one started out HOT and heartbreaking all at the same time. Unfortunately, Saylor dated another one of Smith’s teammates named Rowan (giant douche) who broke her heart and had unknowingly recorded them in bed together and showed several of their teammates. She was left heartbroken and ruined by him.
She drunkenly applied for a job in Charleston, SC for a change of scenery and some distance from NHL players. When she got the job she was surprised but excited. She had to leave behind her broken best friend, Gemma, but was excited for a change.
Before she left, she had some revenge sex with her brother’s best friend Ryder hoping it would get back to Rowan. However, what she didn’t know is that Ryder had always liked her but knew better than to cross that line.
When Ryder found out Saylor would be alone in Sourh Carolina on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, he flew down. He ended up staying over and saw a bucket list on her fridge. When he saw “go on a proper first date” and “get a tattoo” he knew what to do. He had a horse-drawn carriage waiting for her when she got off her shift. They enjoyed the night and even got matching tattoos of Maine!!
They agreed to being friends with benefits, but Ryder was hoping for more once Saylor was ready. Then, he surprised her with an experience to cross more off her bucket list with a room overlooking the New Year’s Eve ball drop in NYC. During this trip, they decided to be more and try out a real relationship.
Unfortunately, before things could even get started, she ran into Rowan in the airport and he told her that Ryder had seen the video which is why he was interested in her. This derailed everything.
Luckily, Ryder was persistent and revealed he didn’t know it was her in the video till later!! A year from their first “proper date” Ryder proposed and they evened go pregnant with twin baby boys, Nash and Nathan!!

Bite Your Tongue by author Hannah Gray is book 4 in the New England Bay Sharks Hockey Series. You can absolutely read this as a standalone, however for better character understanding and reading they are best read in order. Bite your tongue gives us the story of Ryder Cambridge and Saylor Sawyer.
Saylor Sawyer, is working as a nurse and after a bad break up with her boyfriend she has a revenge night with her brothers best friend and teammate, Ryder. Ryder has secretly had a thing for Saylor for a long time and just wants his chance. She’s been made to feel not good enough, and the fun girl and decides to make some changes for HER.
Ryder Cambridge, is Saylors brother Smith’s best friend and teammate. When he sees his chance with Saylor he takes it, hoping he can convince her for more. He's the perfect golden retriever hero, and is exactly who Saylor needed in her life. Sweet, swoony, supportive, caring and the mouth on him was 😜 and I just ate him like candy.
Saylor and Ryder's chemistry had me from the very first page. Both characters had to grow and mature and watching it unfold was amazing. Watching how Ryder helped her complete her list, knowing it was what she needed was amazing and how this showed her this is who Ryder truly was.
I absolutely adored the cameos we got from all the Bay Sharks and their families. I’m looking forward to Tripp and the single mom.
Thank you to Hannah for letting me be a part of your team. If you’re a fan of this series you don’t want to misss Saylor and Ryders story
Bite Your Tongue was rather different than the other books in the New England Bay Sharks, but I enjoyed it a lot nevertheless 👌🏻. Ryder and Sailor’s story was lighter and really funny, with both characters being goofballs a lot of the time! When Sailor gets dumped in the most horrible way by her ex boyfriend and Ryder’s teammate, Rowan, she’s on a mission to get back at him which results in a revenge hookup with Ryder… but the moment they became intimate, Ryder, who liked Sailor for a long time, decides there is no way it ends there and makes it his mission to make her his, no matter what! Sailor has been made to feel less than, only a good-time woman by the men in her past, so much so, that she started to believe that’s what she’s only good for, but Ryder made sure to silence those insecurities by being a steadfast presence in her life, even when she didn’t want it at the time, encouraging her, admiring her and giving her all the compliments she was so bad at taking 😆. Two things I especially loved about this book was how Smith, Sailor’s brother and Ryder’s best friend and teammate, took the news of their relationship. He wasn’t the overbearing brute of a brother, but rather listened, voiced his concerns but accepted that it wasn’t any of his business what they did! The other thing was the friendship between Sailor and Gemma! I loved how they weren’t just best friends, but called each other soulmates 🥹 The book was also hella spicy, so that was the cherry on top 😉🌶️ Thank you to Wordsmith Publicity and Hannah Gray for the eARC 🫶🏻🩵
