This is a decent introduction (or refresher) for parents wanting advice about picky eating that is actually helpful. If you have a picky eater and looking for direction, I recommend this book as a starting place. Katja Rowell's book on extreme picky eating is longer and more in-depth, with a similar approach.
The benefit of books like these is that they teach (and remind) us as parents how to stop listening to all of the friends, family members and strangers who are constantly judging our children (and us) for their diet. They give us the research and expert advice that we need to slow down, stop panicking, and figure out an approach that works for our child and our family over the long haul, instead of constantly resorting to short-term solutions that make us feel frustrated or guilty because we know they are harming our relationship with our child and/or their relationship with food.
This book is one of the most helpful books I've read on helping your children become good eaters. She offers constructive things to say, do and cook, making family mealtimes much more enjoyable. Should be required reading for spouses and grandparents too!
This book provides Simple guidelines and offers resources for different types of picky eating. It also establishes the mindset of 'This is ok. Kids are typically picky in their early years' I think it's a helpful start into understanding your family's relationship with food.
