Carly Weston believes handsome attorney Adam Masterson is everything she ever wanted in a husband. But when she tries to share the gospel with him, he mocks her religious values. Disenchanted, she returns to her small Nevada hometown and finds an unexpected chance at love with former schoolmate Kolton Raywood. Although he lacks Adams professional polish, Koltonâ s strong testimony and rugged good looks give Carly reason to risk her heart again. But thereâ s a secret he hides beneath his tough exteriorâ and speculations about his tragic past could destroy their chance for love. A beautifully crafted novel that reveals the very human consequences of wrongly judging others, Never Too Late shows that for love to grow, it requires forgiveness and understanding.
Great easy read about the reality of the phrase "forgive and forget." Kolton fell in love and married a young girl named Stacey Powers. She was a talented pianist and chose to marry Kolton and stay in a little town in Nevada instead of pursue her parents dreams for a college education and bigger and better lifestyle. She became pregnant and the pressure from her family to still try to get and education and their animosity toward her husband and her husbands harsh feelings for her family caused a depression. She started going places in secret and this added to the arguements with family and Kolton. She went into early labor and although Kyle made it, she didn't. At the funeral feelings were shared in hurt and loss and 8 years later the feud was still going on. By not doing anything Kolton had let his son miss out on another family to love him and he had not forgiven himself for the hurt he caused his wife and the guilt he felt for not trusting her. Aside from this Carly had moved away from Nevada to care for her elderly grandmother and hadn't returned in 8 years. She comes home after a breakup with a serious boyfriend who she realized wouldn't accept her values and beliefs in the Church. Another story to point out by the Church has its dating counsel. She is adjusting to coming home and being at a new job when she finds herself seeking out Kolton's company, but when he tries to keep it on a friend basis as a way to spare her the hurt of his past she ends up finding a way to still be around him. The baptism of his son ends up bringing the families together and starting the healing of old wounds. In the end Kolton and Kyle propose.

I only gave this book one star because I was curious about Kolton's "big secret" oh boy what could it be, an illegitimate child? Ties with the Mafia? Closet homosexuality? I love stories with some kind of conflict where our hero has to really work to prove himself worthy of our lovely lady heroine. Then our author spoils it all by giving it away on the very first freakin page, I HATE that! I plodded diligently through the rest of the book-there was probably some breathstopping climax somewhere but I must've missed it as I found the snobby characters too nauseating to really care about, next novel please.
Good love story. Carly, early thirties, realizes that she and Adam can't agree in religion so she decides to move back to her home town in Nevada to start over. Here she meets an old school friend who is making a pretty good job of being a single parent. At the funeral of his wife, feelings ran high and he forbids them to ever have anything to do with he son. Deals with judging others and forgiveness.
I liked this one. But in my typical behavior I wanted to hit someone that doesn't exist! He was just so stinkinly stuborn. sheesh, but the last pages he totally made up for it. SO CUTE!
I gave this 3 stars because it dealt with forgiveness. Otherwise it was just o.k. This was the authors first published book. If you keep that in mind she did a pretty good job.
There was a lot of build up to mystery in this story, but not enough payoff. I also personally found the main character too nice to be likable. (Grade: "C".)
