It's not easy being a low ranked officer on a space ship with an all-female crew. Halo Ray has it tough keeping the spirited young women under her command in line whilst trying not to come to the attention of her superiors for her own illicit antics. Setting a good example isn't exactly Halo's strong suit, and though she makes sure her subordinates are somewhat well behaved, she herself is getting more and more out of control by the day.

With no respect for protocol, orders, or even clearly marked instructions, it seems as though nothing and no-one can stop her. That is, until she comes up against Sarge, a heavenly butch with a firm hand capable of a gentle touch. Unlike other superior officers who pawn her off on one another in an endless round, Sarge brings Halo to world-shattering, knee-trembling, that's-going-to-leave-a-mark justice again and again.

Temporarily subdued to the useful and the good, Halo tries to settle down. But the secret she's been carrying since she came aboard has a disruptive power which threatens to tear her relationship apart and destroy any chance at redemption she might have. If she's going to make it, Halo needs to learn to trust again before her self-destructive tear ends up hurting not just her, but those who depend on her for their survival.

STARSTRIKE is an erotic, kinky, lesbian, sci-fi adventure. Be advised that you should probably be interested in all of those themes to enjoy this book. Or maybe just any two of the four if you're particularly open minded or super chill. If you have a significant personal aversion to any one of the aforementioned themes, we at Sappho's Brats recommend abstaining from this purchase. Maybe get a bran muffin instead. Mmm. Wholesome.

“Starstrike: A Lesbian Space Adventure” is very entertaining. There’s humor, MC Ray is a loner with a secret, and there’re spankings. Lots of spankings. Early on, Ray says

I gave three paddlings today. Two because they deserved it. One because she wanted it.

I’ve now read several books featuring spanking; spanking for discipline and spanking for sexual stimulation. The spankings for discipline, generally against the wishes of the woman being spanked, haven’t entertained me….probably because the scenes emphasized control instead of mutual respect. On the other hands, the teasing spankings where both parties are enjoying the roles of dominance and submission are often very, errr…..entertaining. Yeah, let’s just go with that.

In Starstrike, the two types of spankings are acknowledged, but Starstrike then goes further and does a better job of many books at combining the two types.

I'm going to paddle your ass, Ray,” she says. “You're going to bend over the desk and you're going to take it without complaining or acting up, because you know you deserve it. You know you went out of your way to deserve it, in fact.”

There's no way in hell I can see myself just bending over her desk to let her paddle my ass.

I'm more vulnerable than before. I wait for the paddle to land against my barely protected rear, but it doesn't. Instead, her palm runs up the back of my thigh, follows the curve around to the inside of my leg and then her fingers are between my legs, cupping my pussy like she owns it

This isn't coalition protocol.

The sexual and emotional relationship between Ray and Sarge is well done. Ray’s secret was an interesting twist, but not nearly as interesting as Sarge’s secret!

Lesbian romance, spankings and hot sex on a space ship with likable characters. What’s not to like? 4.4*

A little Short

It felt like we were finally getting to the good part of the story and the relationship but the story just ended. We needed a few more intimate spanking scenes. I certainly hope there is going to be more to this story a lot more. Otherwise it was just a get off, spanking, too short, too expensive tale with no real ending which is a shame because Loki is usually a better writer.
