Edith is in her mid-eighties and lives alone in her quiet neighborhood. Much to her chagrin, she discovers a family is building a new house on the empty lot next door. This change in Edith's life begins a domino effect of uncertainty. What will become of her life? What other changes will take place? Is her life becoming out of control? Never married, some might call her a spinster. But she is genuinely concerned about her neighbors; to the point of digging into their business just as she digs in her flower beds. She keeps a perfectly manicured yard and tends daily to her garden beds which allows her to watch everyone in her neighborhood. She is at large and very often in charge. But as she is aging she is finding less satisfaction with just her garden chores and decides to volunteer at the community library. Her world is being transformed as she meets the neighbors who have just moved in next door and as she finds a new friend at the library. Edith is a fun person to get to know.
